I really like the heavy basses and synths. Also, I like having access to these instruments via the Spitfire interface instead of Kontakt. I was looking for a library offering a more dramatic palette of sounds. This is it!

Just AWESOME PERIOD! :)
Grat sounding library for powerful compositions where you need fat brushes.
this is my new favorite library its epic, cinematic and its exacty what you would need for modern trailer music
Fantastic !
I have been very interested in this library since it's release, but had a lot of symphonic and trailer plugins already. When this went on sale, I had to get it. I should have saved my money with all the other plugins. This library has it all, stunningly beautiful and booming strings, guitars, synth and acoustic drums, and a massive selection of trailer tools. The tweaking is endless with all the options, but so simple to use. Absolutely amazing library.
Great for epic and dynamic scores
I've enjoyed Colossus so far. It has provided me the impact and soul I could hear in my head but couldn't reproduce elsewhere. I appreciate the consistency in the interface - sophisticated enough to give the product flexibility without being overly complicated. I try to rarely pay full price, as I do find some of the products to be a tad overpriced. But, I wait for a discount offering - which come around often - and then take the plunge.
I love it!!!! Not only because it runs through it's own player but because the sounds are AMAZING!!!!
Great depth, although uses more than 32GB 3600 RAM
Awsome sound and very useful options for templates or working with it right away
A wonderful suite of varied and exciting musical styles and sounds with the easy to use Spitfire plug-in. I've only recently installed the software so I'm still working through the many permutations and combinations possible. The walkthrough by Homay is inspirational and informative and has spurred me to apply and explore some different techniques.
Unfortunately, this is the worst Spitfire purchase I have ever made. I love Spitfire Audio and their products and buy them frequently, but this one is NOT worth your money. Some things about it are cool, for instance, the 'Hype' parameter, and kind of wish they released it as a plug in to use on different instruments separately. But the rest is just generally awful (sorry). Instruments: The Bad: if you have Albion One (original), Abbey Road, or BBC Orchestra, you do not need the majority of these instruments: the piccolos, strings, and horns are all way worse sounding than the other libraries I just mentioned (to my ears anyway), and they take forever to load up for some reason. Good: The synthesisers, guitars, and percussion are quite cool, and would work really well in trailer music, for example. However, this isn't anything new. Add a few effects to libraries like Aperture, and you get almost the same outcome. Plus, synthesisers are just something you can make for free if you're willing to make the time. Even on sale, spending that much money just for some synthesisers and highly compressed drums is not worth it at all! I'm not trying to sound too negative in this review, but this library was just such a forgettable one, I've only used it maybe once for one film, and that was because I realised that I own it and didn't want to make it seem like I wasted my money. But in general, yes, I did waste my money with this one, and hopefully you won't too. A good alternative to this from Spitfire Audio is Aperture: The Stack, and for orchestral elements, definitely go for the one of the big three from Spitfire (BBC, Abbey Road, or Albion One).
Inspiration, and huge sounding library. Having a lot of fun with it!
Great high quality tools for scoring compositions. But do not expect to open it and write scores. You really need good experience on scoring composing for all Albion series (I own NEO too).
I'm not very happy with Albion Colossus. After trying to use it very stubbornly for two weeks I find it difficult to find a musical and sound space that's not better represented by other alternatives, RAM usage of SF own engine is not optimal, doesn't allow for purge, and also crashes my CUBASE 10 more often than not (Whenever I disable its tracks it never does crash). I've ended up NOT using this library at all just two weeks after buying it. I'm very happy in general with SF products, but I would completely refund this one if there was the option to. I can't in good faith recommend it, and I'm sorry because I love SF, they're great people and professionals, and make really good libraries.
Powerful, energetic, great sound. It's more than I expected
Easy to use, the sounds are as good as any other library I have used and the options of blending Chamber sections with orchestra sections is brilliant.
This library and interface are superb. I am new to scoring, and an amateur but I love the expressive control. Personally would be nice if it integrated into the NI Komplete Kontrol platform for searchability.
an access to cinematic production
