Brand: Spitfire Audio

The critically acclaimed British Drama Toolkit provides an instinctive yet intense connection to the heart of your composition. Created in collaboration with composer Samuel Sim, it features an ensemble dedicated to the emotionally potent sound he is lauded for — but also presents a unique way of interacting with the players, which sets this instrument apart from anything we have created to date. For anyone looking to embrace an alternative approach to scoring, this NKS library toolkit gives you full creative freedom without the barrier of technology — allowing you to simply respond to the scene in front of you. We can’t write your music for you, but we can help you find your voice.

Stunning sounds that are highly playable.

Like all the Spitfire libraries I own, extremely well made and immediately put to use.

This was my first purchase of any Spitfire Audio product. I now completely understand why this company is mentioned in almost any conversation about scoring and composing. The sound is stellar, the design of the interface is intuitive and the results are better than expected. I will definitely purchase more libraries as my budget allows.

I love this. It's not exactly what I was looking for in terms of strings and orchestras, but once I got into it I realized how flexible and emotive it is. I'm really happy I have this.

Using velocity as a way to produce different shades of sound is an interesting idea. However, it takes a lot of practice to "feel" at what point texture slips into soft and then into loud. I find the margins between the last two too small and I would have liked the option to change the velocity settings which rule the transition. That being said, it is an inspiring instrument. It is, of course, limited to a slow sort of legato, but within that limitation it can produce a wide range of interesting combinations.

Love the sexiness this tool gives just by noodling around. My 16 month old son will sit on my lap smashing my keyboard and this instrument even still sounds beautiful throughout the house!

Interesting new way of using the instrument with different velocities triggering different patches. Will be using it a lot in future

Amazing sound, and it plays brilliantly straight out of the box. It's definitely not an all-rounder library and focuses on one specific type of sound and music, but it does that one thing really, really well.

Very good sounds, easy to understand interface and overall-inspiring library. My only issue is that most of the velocity ranges seem off. The forte section requires really hard playing and the middle section is sometimes hard to pinpoint, so it can be hard to perform in realtime. Of course, with midi playback, it's easy to fix velocities, but it is an extra step.

A fantastically usable library with gets instant results - perfect for scoring drama as the name implies. Some times the mixing of the violin lines seems bit over EQd in the "main" patch. My only concern is everyone will be using it to get the "sound"

Great interface, super sound ! Could play with it for hours without getting boring. Used it already for a lot of dramatic, melancholic underscore cues.

Very intuitive and simple to use- all while adding some depth to whatever you need.
