Having purchased the other BDtoolboxes, I figured picking this up during a sale would round out the set in terms of style. I expected it to be in a similar vein, but instead discovered it’s truly “contemporary” rather than periodic like BDT. Being a guitar player from the Fripp - Eno era I found myself drawn to the sonic pallet of the guitar, textural & pad patches. The library makes an excellent complement to the Drama TK set.

Excellent resource.
it's help to film scoring, unique sound but powerful
This library truly surprised me! I bought it somewhat blindly due to a limited-time deal, but once I explored it, I discovered so many rich sounds and inspiring presets. It was a fantastic surprise, and I can’t wait to add more color to my music with it!
Sounds a bit dated. Very small interface on a 4K screen with Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6
I need to dive deeper into it. Right now I don't like it. The interface is confusing and there is a tiny bar on the left of the "wrench" icon that has type so small you can't read it! I hate Kontakt too. I prefer standalone Spitfire plugins. They open and they work! And if there are presets, there's always a drop down showing all of them. When I have to use Kontakt I can't find what I want. I click what looks like an arrow and an empty box appears! (Maybe I need lessons) Usually,I love Spitfire but Drama Tool Kit leaves me cold.
Beautiful library for cinematic projects
Perhaps the best VST for creating suspended yet incredibly immersive environments.
It became a must-have for me. Love it
Good product however a legato section for the electric violin and electric cello would've been the one thing that would've knocked this library out of the park. If SA reads these reviews, it's worth consideration for a legato patch to be added to this library.
Great sounds. Still discovering all the potential
Good overall but having to use through Kontakt sucks. I hate NI and find Kontakt to be ugly unpractical and too expensive. Spitfire proprietary plugin sounds and feels much better
CDT is such an inspirational Library, so much fun to sit down and just play along with it......could do that for Hours....lay down a chord, waiting whats happening and set an accent with that velocity layers. Love to use it for distinguished Backgrounds.........pure fun and Inspiration. Cheers Gert Felber
Take your time. This one has a lot of hidden depth.
Unique and inspiring sounds for composing TV music quickly and competitively.
If I am honest, I was disappointed when I downloaded this because it was only after purchasing it that I realised it required the Kontakt player. This is the first product I purchased from Spitfire Audio that has this requirement. I dislike Kontakt because it consumes so much CPU and memory and is a bit of a pain to interact with its reaper (my DAW of choice). I much prefer Spitfire Audios' own plugin. Unfortunately, this product is not supported on that. That aside, the quality of the toolkit is beyond question and it features some truly beautiful high-quality samples. The velocity triggers for some of the layered sounds do require a little patience to perfect, but overall it is a really excellent library.
Absolutely great. I loved the velocity changes of each instrument, that was really useful.
If I had to sum this library up in a word, that word would be "inspiring." It's a great way to get started on a piece - you can almost pick a sound at random, and it just oils the cogs of creation. Love it.
Great stuff here!
Also part of the summer bundle sale, and has some interesting elements to it.
