Rich tones and a good selection of articulations, but a major oversight in lack of rebowing control. This flaw means that long notes are often disrupted by rebowing, which is of course unmusical and unrealistic. I hope that Spitfire will correct this to make for a 5-star collection.

Great sounds and ease of use!
Obviously software from a previous era - the interface does not compete with the excellent new Discovery style. Unintuitive, slow, irritating, and prone to glitches - I have to think hard before launching it even though it has the instruments I need. The sooner Kontakt is dispensed with the better - in my opinion. Spitfire Support is excellent as usual - a breath of fresh air after battling with Steinberg.
Absolutely superb. It's all great, like most of Spitfire's stuff, but the virtuoso violin and total performance cello are the real winners here. Both are just magically good, and although it takes a little while to adapt your playing to such an innovative approach it is well worth the effort. People will be interested to know if these Solo Strings (recorded at Air) work alongside BBC symphonic set (Maida Vale), and yes they do ! I can even use them as the section leaders missing from Core, though they really shine alone or with their solo counterparts for a much more initimate, close sound. But by god they don't half also sound good in a massive strings hall when leading a full orchestra ! Lovely stuff. If I had any gripe at all it would be only that this instrument uses Kontakt as opposed to the infinitely superior SA player - it can crash quite dramatically sometimes, taking down not only the audio driver, but also the DAW and on occasion even the machine ! All is usually fine after restart.
you have a good product
Lovely sample library, super emotional strings.
Useful VST instrument if you write for small string sections or if you want to add some presence to melodic lines. I have almost every solo VST out there but I love Spitfire solo strings for the control to vibrato and expression as well as having all articulations without having to load different instances of the same instrument. Good samples, very good scriting of the VST plugin
Amazing non vibrato soft sounds, total performance is really powerful
Excellent product
Absolutely fantastic! There are many variations available to be found and experiment with. You can build your own orchestra with this alone. It also sounds great when layered with synths.
The most stunningly high quality strings library I've ever used! Thank you for making such beautiful products Spitfire Audio!
The time, effort, care and attention to detail shines through with every note. I'm finding the legatos a little tricky to get sounding exactly as I want them to, but the library is still leagues ahead of anything else out there.
Browsed through the internet for quite some time but didn't find anything that sounded even close as realistic and clear as spitfire solo strings.
Easily adds clarity to all the other strings I have.
A beautiful collection of strings
Beautiful sounds and articulations, along with Albion One it's a perfect match!
It’s going to take me a while to get use to the settings and functionality but there is a lot of potential . Well done spitfire !!
So far so good. A lot of options and UI is great.
Very happy with this product, it sounds really good, it has everything I needed for my songs, and it also offers cheap patches that help me not to consume so much cpu, since my pc is not very powerful. Very happy with my choice.
the quality of the product is stellar. Maybe a list of diff types of sounds that are made avail and description would be helpful for ppl like me who dont have time to test all of the sounds and gradually learn them or read through the entire manual. But no major complaints. Quality content for a reasonable price.
