The best Solo Strings VST, for realism and versatility. It requires a good knowledge of the real Instruments, and some practice in the use of the virtual Instruments; but through a correct simultaneous use of all dynamic parameters, the excellence of the results pay the effort.
I purchased this product as I was after a really good string quartet for track I was "temping" for a record label. I was always going to replace it with a real quartet (which I did). Great product. Only reason why I don't give it 5 (DEF a 4.5) is I am now getting rather used to Spitfire's own plugin (Which for this sorta thing I prefer to Kontakt).....AND (which is more important), recording a real string quartet just sounds better! "Warts and All"....but when you only have four musicians, it is really hard if not impossible to get a performance from a plugin that is what you have "written". Sure, you can write around the limitations of the plugin, but that's not the point. Excellent product however.

The sound library I just bought (Spitfire Solo Strings) is amazing. I'm having some trouble on using some tools the right way, but I believe it is due to my inexperience. Some really good improvement would be the possibility of playing wide glissandos. Anyway, Spitfire Audio really did a great job!
Great sounding and easy to play with all the well thought out articulations, lovely recorded in a acousticly nice sounding room. Closest I have come so far to write natural sounding strings with a lovely dynamic that makes the solo melodies sound real and lively.
Thin details ans tons of articulations. In my opinion, in a layer use, it's one of the best solo strings library. For an individual use, it's good too but the sound is a bit more difficult to master. EQ too mid so G string produce too many harmonics for every violin type ! I still recommand.
Getting to know this, but the couple times I have incorporated it into my scores have really been unique.

This sample library is great for anyone wishing to compose for any of the contemporary string instruments! It is also a great extension to orchestral libraries.

I have many sample string programs that I use with Kontakt. Spitfire Solo Strings is by far the best. The audio recording quality is empeckable. The players articulations and performing skills are phenomenal. Thanks so much for a great product.
One of the best solo strings I’ve used
An excellent addition to any composer's arsenal. I would highly recommend this product to any composer looking for a solo strings patch, whether it be for a lead violin, or composing for a quartet or quintet. I especially enjoy the virtuoso violin and cello legato patches. However, I would point out that you may not be able to use this product to it's fullest potential (specifically the total performance patches) if your computer is lacking in ram. I find that the audio will cut out when using the total performance violin or cello if I'm using more than one microphone type at a time, but it's not a large enough problem to deduct from my review. (For reference, I'm using a refurbished Macbook with 16 gigabytes of ram.)

Purchased after a lot of research to pair with Albion One with the intention of not needing to buy another string library (for my needs) for the forseeable future. Deep, nuanced, and beautifully recorded. Performances and articulations that cover a broad spectrum of applications, some unique enough to be written around. Look forward to using for a long time

These guys are the doggy’s wotsits. The peak of their craft, friendly, genuine and product-focused. Haven’t regretted my purchase one bit. Outstanding quality and hideously good fun.
