Samples on an SSD now work beautifully. It's a well designed and thought through dry of instruments. I'm learning more & more, enjoying it as I use the product.
I don't like everything Spitfire does, but I bought the Solo Strings and the instrument is incredible. However, the control over articulation is VERY confusing. The manual is not informative enough and the videos are leaving you with questions. Support is very kind, but I also had a bit of a hard time with them. So, Spitfire - please get yourself together and make something about this mess. Cause you got a terrific product in your hands!

Solo Strings blend perfectly with SSO, SStO and Chamber Strings to provide both a first chair and solo experience for the orchestra. I happen to also love Sacconi Strings Quartet and Alternative Solo Strings too as they offer different and unique tonal choices for varying your composition. Spitfire libraries are scintillating!!
Still learning all the small details, but by far the best solo strings I've ever heard!

Despite my best attempts, I could not convince a competitor's solo violin TO NOT SOUND LIKE a kazoo. So I went shopping. Pounding pavement led directly to the Spitfire Solo Strings library which includes three unique, inspiring solo violins as well as a magnificent viola, cello and double bass. After transplanting the virtuoso violin into my project, it was the finest sounding instrument in the mix. Each of the instruments provide a great range of classic articulations. The dynamic range is impressive, providing great opportunity for nuance and subtlety, with bombastic excitement at the other end. This library is a great choice. I highly recommend it.
I'm astonished at how Spitfire has accomplished this library. The realism of the samples are unprecedented!
Great sounding virtuoso violin. I wish the articulations were in the same order for all the instruments. Makes using key switching really awkward as you need to remember different notes for different patches. Progressive violin is the weak spot of the passage.
Definitive sound for sampled solo strings
If you need that perfect, piercing edge to your composition, go for this one! Blending on one side and soaring above on the other
Quite simply I just love the quality of the sounds and after only a little while the interface becomes quite intuitive.

I needed a solo orchestral string library for a holiday production. The original live recording was flawed, and re-recording wasn’t an option. Solo strings has exceeded my expectations in how well I was able to fit in the new programed material. It’s almost spooky how seamless it is. The articulations were very well thought out, and the tonal pallet is very tweakable. I also had a few questions regarding the library and support was quick to reply and very helpful. Class-A all the way!
