This instrument (Spitfire solo string) has excellent sound and sample in general. However, there is an annoying downside to the low noise that comes from some sounds.

A most excellent product changed my music production entirely.
Simple, instantaneous and pure.
Amazing sound quality and playability.
Beautiful sounding room, blends good with others libraries, just two problems: I have the feeling that the violin is a bit thin sonically speaking, missing some warmth. It would be necessary to do the virtuous update to all the instruments, other wise the library is a bit overpriced. And the library doesn't seem to be finished. Missing run legattos
Brilliant in every way. High;y recommended.
I purchased Spitfire Solo Strings mainly because of Christian Henson's Youtube channel: his passion for the craft of music creation, his ease of dissecting complex musical topics into something that I can understand. That, coupled with the many Spitfire walkthrough videos gave me the certainty that I needed Spitfire Solo Strings for a piece I was working on, and I'm really happy with the result. Thank you Spitfire team for making an amazing product!
This is by far the most amazing strings plugin I've heard.
Amazing product, the strings really are very convincing, and will greatly assist in my draft compositions. I must admit though that I have two issues with this pack: - The duration of bow changes with each sample, so the orchestra seem unable to bow together. Although unrealistic, perhaps an infinite bow option? - Some of the notes are out of tune, quite substantially too. I've found this particularly prominent on the C notes from the double bass, notable tremolo, which is out of tune by almost a semitone. On the whole though, great product.
Excellent sound with lots of tweaking opportunities. It has become a must-have for almost all of my projects.
Works just the way it should
Solo Strings works very well. Samples on their own sounds amazing and thanks to their "dry" character they seem to find their way even thought rich mixes. What's great in this bundle is the total performance patch for Violin. I would maybe have extend this patch to viola and cello as well.
WOW!! I'm impressed by the sound quality and the performance of the musicians who recorded this samples. This library has brought feelings into my compositions. Sometimes a simple melody just needs an excellent timbre to become powerful. Occasionally the programming finds some obstacles, but once it works the results are breathtaking.
Love Solo Strings! It's a nice compliment to my library that is mostly ensemble strings.
This library is absolutely beautiful (and easy to use). I'm so happy to have it.
Amazingly realistic samples and very playable at the same time. I highly recommend it.
This library is incredible, I am working with it since a week or so and I can say that it can really help your compositions. I sampled a short strings quartet with it, the result is cool but as you can imagine naked samples could show some weakness. My summary would be: Great sound and great articulations set Amazing playability especially if you use a keyswitch controller Super easy to understand I don't like the separate legato patches it makes my workflow a little bit confused The Cello sound could be better in the high register In general 8.5 over 10 in my rate great job -m-
Amazing stuff, looking forward to getting in deep!
Simply awesome. The level of detail and expressiveness of this library is just amazing. Intimate, ultra realistic but also very playable. It feels like the end of the road of my sound search. I'm done, this is it. Thanks!
This is the first Spitfire product that I am only rating 4 stars. I want to rate it 5 really badly, but there's a couple things. First, the Violas not having a Long Flautando patch. That is my favorite sound and I love the detail in the Violins and Cello, and I would love to have had that on the Viola as well. Second, this is a professionals library. Not that is a bad thing, I usually like to have to work more to get the sound I want. It just takes more time than I would like in the programming stage to make the legato's sound good and realistic. The Performance Legato Virtuoso Violin is a different story, and is also very fun to play with. That is one of my all time favorite patches I've ever used. I would go bananas over a Cello Performance Legato (please please please Spitfire) I absolutely love the Bass sounds in general. Between the flautandos, harmonics, and that Violin Performance Legato, I absolutely love a lot of the sounds and the amazing detail in the soloists. Just would love to have those other things I mentioned for the 5 stars. That being said, this library will be heavily used for my upcoming projects for any solo string needs. These sounds can sound absolutely beautiful with a little bit of work put into them.
