This is an amazing plugin that offer a great sound experience and versatility.
Like it. The "auto trills" don't work consistently for me but when they do it's neat. 2nd product I've purchased from SF. I'm considering buying more, we will see if I can justify the big bucks for their more robust titles as I am a hobbyist and not a pro. Looking for the right fit because a lot of the demos I hear from people have videogamey-fantasy film orchestrations and I detest that. Looking for more of a string quartet for pop songs. Worth it. I would suggest putting in some time researching their stuff because to get multi mic samples costs probably 500 clams and up.
Fantastic product.
it is a pro tool!
Excellent sound library - exceeded my expectations with the clarity, quality and precision of the samples.
AMAZING!!!
Well... I found it too expensive for what it it. Its awful if you want to use it for mellow legato stuff. All those bow changes when you try to sustain a note are just utterly annoying, you have no control over the reverb... it works fine for stacato stuff though...
Love it!!!
Great! Very smart thing that responds to your ideas fast and precise. It’s even like an alive violinist that you can easily put in your work =)
Sounds great and so simple to create expressive music.
It's a great library, though I've encountered some bugs with longer, sustained notes. Otherwise it's amazing.
A very playable detailed AND warm sounding solo violin. It sounds convincing, even without articulation choices (just one patch), the programming is very good, it picks correct articulations on the fly when you play the line. It's a very handy addition to the SSO offerings.
Beautiful, realistic, and expressive. The most realistic string samples I've ever used.
As good as it gets when it comes to orchestral reproduction
I’m in the process of finishing the score for a short period it’s a sad piece about mental health and it is the piano based. I had an associate play a few notes over the top just to see what it would sound like with a single violin, and it elevated and magnify the emotional tone tremendously. I wasn’t able to accurately articulate what I wanted, and then I heard the demo of spitfires solo violin. Suddenly I knew I had the creative options that I needed to be able to express myself perfectly. After installing the product, I opened the session and started improvising with a single violin over the pre-existing score. And yes, it made me quite emotional. Spitfire has delivered a product with solo violin that enables me to express myself in ways that were previously unavailable without having a violinist, microphone, a mic pre-, some kind of mixing desk, headphones in an environment to record in. And yes, I have other leading sample and software libraries and programs at my disposal. Not like this, this is an emotional powerhouse of options for a single instrument. Thank you Spitfire for Donnelly and Richie my life creatively, but enabling me to deliver for my clients in a way that was previously unavailable.
I very much like the Solo Violin VST, although I ran into some hick-ups with Native Instruments. However since that experience was outside of Spitfire's control, I am not obliged to let it tarnish my opinion on the VST. The only thing I found lacking on this VST was the inability to slide between notes whenever I wished, as it appears that you may only slide between certain notes. In spite of this, I would recommend this product to a friend who may be on a budget.
This is probably the best sound library in my strings library (both solo violin and solo strings). The sound quality and realism is at the top in my opinion. I personally love the dry sound of strings and spitfire products deliver exactly what I need. The only thing that I'd like to suggest is having the control of rebow. It is not a huge issue since it can be solved by using expression control curve to "hide" the unexpected timing of rebowing, but still it would be easier if we could just have a total control of it. All in all it is definitely my favorite sound library, and I'm truly glad that I made the purchase:)
It’s pretty amazing it sounds so authentic and it’s one of the most playable vst’s that I’ve used.
In my opinion the sound of this violin is excellent. The ability to vary dynamics and vibrato with the faders in real time is great and increases the realism and authenticity while playing. It can be easily integrated into NI Kontakt Player, I just had to set the buffer size of my Focusrite Scarlett quite high (256) to avoid minor audio dropouts. Recommended!
