Product details

Brand: Spitfire Audio

Spitfire Studio Strings marks the first release of a vital all-new Spitfire Orchestra range. Our ambition was to create an incredibly versatile pro-end dry stage sample library. By choosing the crisp and vibrant setting of AIR Studio One, a smaller, more controllable space than the opulent Lyndhurst Hall, we offer our fellow composers a string library with depth, detail and focus all at once. One that will work on anything from passionate period dramas to modern Scandi noir. It’s a fit for quirky indie and crisp pop, but can also tackle epic film and game scores.

Very nice sampling. Good product for the price. Basic articulations (this is the main limit of the product). Overall, good buy !

Only drawback is short looping on sustaining notes. It was explained that is not the purpose of library, but would have great!!

Again, I am impress by the sound quality as on playing that the recording itself and... to mention that a had the «basic¢ Studio Strings. Sounds are well organized and find it easy to find your way around those sound files. As you may be familiar with other set the overall interface still inspired by the same set up, which it make is easy to jump in!

I just am finishing up taking a score for a quartet and manipulating it to work with the studio strings. My only complaint is I had to tune the cello for a number of notes in the sequence. It was sometimes flat and sometimes sharp. I just edited in using the pitch wheel control and writing it in the data. It seems somewhat random. I know form playing with string ensembles that tuning is always an adventure. At first I thought maybe it was all the instruments but it seems like adjusting the specific notes in the cello fixed it. It's playing with Ivory using the german steinway patch. The Logic strings sound very in tune with that piano instrument.

Good standard of sampling. Excellent breadth of 'off norm' articulations. Sound authentic.

A stunningly crisp and beautiful string section for an absolutely unbelievable price. I ordered the standard version of Spitfire Studio Strings and am incredibly satisfied with the purchase. My only complaint is the awful thing that came bundled with the Standard version - the increasingly pervasive temptation to upgrade to the Pro version. 5/5 will upgrade soon.

This was an interesting product. This library is definitely dry and does not produce epic and soaring music right out of the box. This is exactly what I wanted because I could tailor this to my needs. The walk-through videos on the product page is a must-see for anyone considering this product. If you are looking for a library of strings to which you can add your own color, this is a great product.

I like the better trem control, I do think it deserves one ambient mic or another mic placement. I am looking forward to the Brass & Woodwind versions. Sounds are great as I have come to expect.

Great sound and flexibility in this library, and most importantly, it's inspiring to play. I'll be making plenty of music with it.

Its dry character is perfect for integration into a musical piece (eg: positioning in the sound space, inclusion of a reverb, ...) A very operational tool with a high fidelity restitution, I am delighted.

I've been wanting to buy a chamber orchestra for a long time and with Spitfire Studio String the quality is very good and the price is also good

5 stars so far. I love the versatility in this library. My first thought was "Really Spitfire? Another one?" yet I still purchased within minutes of release and I'm happy I did. It was the string library I didn't know I needed. I just went with the basic one because I have so many other string libraries but so far, it's been perfect for what I've used it for. The detail and flexibility is fantastic and I'm excited to get more into using it.

It’s great to finally have all the great Spitfire articulations recorded dry which you can mix with their other libraries to get the exact sound you want instead of having to deal with all the ambience of the Chamber and Symphonic Strings. I bought the basic version first then upgraded to the professional version and both are great.

Was entirely my own fault for not checking (and even despite watching Paul Thompson’s walkthrough and skimming the list of included articulation) I was a little surprised there were no ensemble patches. Aside from that I’m thrilled with the purchase and sounds great. Unbelievably great value, so proud to have it in my possession.

Wonderful articulations ! I use it as a warm background in folk music. Combined with alternative solo strings I can't ask for more from strings samples.

Amazing quality, completely controllable, and is great for a intermediate user like myself who’s not quite ready for the professional series.
