Need the staccato
Great sounding library, and versatile given the ability to vary between close/dry and more ambient textures given the smaller room.... combined with the ambient mic options and the added reverb control. Very nice. Would like to have bowed legato options in this library, so that when the same note is played more than once consecutively, each note can have a more immediate attack. Otherwise - a beautiful and super useful lib. Thanks so much Spitfire !!!
Lots of options to play with. The strings sound incredibly beautiful!
Absolutely excellent made library - nearly uncountable different sounds, so realistic - I love the possibility with this dry sounds to give them with additional plugins the character which I love most and fits best for my compositions.
I was happy to finally complete this library. There are a ton of articulations, divisi, and it fits right in with all of the other Spitfire libraries I have.
Great sound and control over everything. Beautiful tone and color options. Great for chamber and symphonic size sections. Great for divisi volume control. The legato seems to be the weakest part of the library; you will need to apply a generous amount of pre-delay to get everything synced up. The slurred transitions aren't amazing on the divisi sections; you'll probably want to work with increasing the round robins using one of their options in Kontakt. The sheer number of articulations in the standard studio sections paired with the amount of mic positions is absolutely ridiculous (in a good way). You can hear clear tonal differences between each mic that helps add a unique flavor to every section. The longs are beautifully intimate; I can't imagine how the Chamber series is supposed to sound at this point.
Very good samples, with many articulations and a lot of position of microphones. It sounds excellent, but it demands experience !
It’s grt software which I buy. I am an Indian composer. Thanks spitfire audio.
The choices of articulation and the versatility of the library really make this one a great choice for being open to further post processing. I like to blend this one with the Albion series.
The product is just as, if not better than expected. The product consists of recorded strings of the highest quality. A wide variety of propper playing techniques, and a lot of ways to mix the strings makes this product a lot of fun to use. Very good product.
excellent sounding strings
Fantastic value, great quality and incredible amount of articulations.
This Library is so huge and sounds so good! I love layering Studio Strings with Albion One for more percision and bite. But even on it’s own... the Studio Strings are sounding fantastic. Just add a nice reverb and you are good to go. There is an enormous amount of content in here and the divisi-sections are quite handy. The only thing I miss is an ensemble patch like in the Symphonic Strings.
The close mics were key for me - I use them all the time for when I want a more intimate setting or quality. I'm even using them for an indie record I'm making. They can sound grandiose and majestic but I prefer to use them in a restrained manner - which this library is great for.
High quality library.
Excellent product
Absolutely outstanding library. Can get a very small section of 3-4 "players" each, or a full 16 piece section. My only suggestion is that vibrato speed be added to Spitfire Strings Libraries, at least as an additional parameter. Currently available is the amount of vibrato. But the other key factor in a natural vibrato is the speed of the vibrato. LA Scoring Strings, for example, has this setting. Lovely product! Keep them coming! You guys are great!
The sound is fantastic. The multiple mics take too much RAM if you have 16Gb or less but are too important for getting the right color. I suggest using no more than two or three at a time while recording or playing. Some string sections/groups are more flexible than others and the small chamber option takes the biggest bite on this problem. Since I'm new to Spitfire products I don't know if an update could solve this but I guess it might.
Having uploaded the Discovery orchestra and being impressed with it, I have now purchased the studio strings and also the woodwinds. I am currently working with both on a piece of my music "Dawn till Dusk". The studio strings have given the piece a vibrant and real string quality. The edit ability to give human feel is very good indeed. It is hard to imagine better, more lifelike sounding strings/woodwinds. I am most pleased with my purchase and have no hesitation in recommending to future users. Its made my music stand out on the page. Well done Spitfire!
