Strings that cut through a dense mix, pre-EQ! Excellent sound and the best library for my use cases.
A strong string library overall, it’s very dry but works nicely even with artificially added rooms. A minus is that some instruments has an unpleasant ringing quality on certain notes on the ambient and outrigger mics, something in studio 1’s acoustics I would imagine.
This is just a masterpiece! Very detailed sound and very versatile library!
My new tracked orchestra
The detail and nuances provided with these sounds are bringing my pieces to life like no other library has done. Well done!
A real treat and so sublime. There really is no limits.
Really really great sounding library, the additional mic options (professional edition) IMHO are indispensable to work with a library this dry. I'm missing an ensemble patch for most common techniques (I think this is a great way to get your ideas down fast without worrying about register/orchestration), this my 5th star missing. I recommend getting this library, even if it is your first purchase from Spitfire. C2 mic is amazing to bring a first chair feel and sound to any part. Built-in reverb is nice but I recommend investing in a nice sounding reverb to along this library, it will become and indispensable tool to craft the right depth in your mix, this applies more in a scoring-to-picture context.
Huge dry library. Solid recording, lots of articulation and great potential. Already get this and the Studio Brass. Will get the Woodwind when it comes out. I would only get the strings in "professional", which mainly are more articulations, more microphones and several additional instruments.
Clean recording with ultimate Mike placements and performance flexibility’s. Fabulous.
Just recently got this but it's shaping up to be be the "missing link" between the Symphonic Strings and the Chamber Strings which I have been rabidly using for the past few years. This is an answer to my "I wish they'd come up with a drier but equally luscious String library" sighs over the years. Nice job indeed lads!
It's brilliant. The only Caveat I have with the Spitfire stuff is the inability to take out the baked in hall reverb....Yes, yes, "It's the hall that gives it character" & all that... I simply wish each patch had an even closer mic choice, & Spitfire would come out with an awesome reverb like Altiverb or Spaces II.
This is one of the best string libraries I've worked with! They are easy to program and play, and I love the close sound. Also works well when adding my own reverb.
I was very pleased with the core version but the professional version offers so much more flexibility, within the same intuitive interface. My compositions have taken on a new dimension since having acquired the professional version. And I'm just getting started.
Incredible writing tool and records superbly too! Will definitely be adding more Spitfire Audio libraries to the collection - Thank You!
Beautiful sounds within different numbers of players to get the beauty in the strings. But sounds a bit dry, need to use a lot of work with cc modulation.
Very flexible library. Whether you are experienced with string libraries or not, with a little time and patience you can get just about any sound you could want out of this product. I am completely happy with it.
These strings are just beautiful and expressive. I purchased the Studio strings and quickly had to upgrade to the “professional” version. I guess I must add Studio Brass is next.
Beautiful quality and versatile - loving these!
This library forms an amazing start point for every composition. The dryness of the library makes it possible for me to use this in pop, techno and film score settings and the techniques and sounds are simply sublime. At this price point this library offers so much it almost feels like stealing!
