Spitfire Studio Strings marks the first release of a vital all-new Spitfire Orchestra range. Our ambition was to create an incredibly versatile pro-end dry stage sample library. By choosing the crisp and vibrant setting of AIR Studio One, a smaller, more controllable space than the opulent Lyndhurst Hall, we offer our fellow composers a string library with depth, detail, and focus all at once. It will work on anything from passionate period dramas to modern Scandi noir. It’s a fit for quirky indie and crisp pop but can also tackle epic film and games scores.

After testing several different top-of-line string libraries this is the one I've been waiting for. The dry room sound (compared to most other libraries) gives a world of choices that responds well to reverb as well. The many articulations, spread across all sections, gives me more that enough variables when it comes to expression. To me it's a good 4,5 stars as there jbis one thing that I miss; Each section can be divided into smaller divisi sections. E.g. for violins that means 16, 8, 4A and 4B sections, whereas the number represents the number of players. Now, only the "mid-sized" divisi section (also for Viola, Celli and Basses) have all the articulations available. The smaller sections an the big one only have less number, but very carefully chosen, articulations. I would love to have the same amount of articulations also for one of the small divisi section for each instrument type. What I miss the most is portamento in the legato samples. If I want to use that it means I have to use the mid-sized sections, or plain and simple skip that playing style. Perhaps Spitfire is able to update this for us in the future. That would be a 5 star all the way!

I absolutely love this library. The versatility of having a dry signal from this library works well in a lot of situations for string writing. And also having the portamento patch and a lot of other amazing articulations makes this library very worth the money. Though, it could've been great if they added an Ensemble patch as well since everything you get here are individual patches only, hence the 4 star rating. But other than that, you will not regret buying this library. I absolutely use it in all of my projects. And now I am very convinced to buy the whole Studio orchestra series in this year's black friday sale. Thank you spitfire!

I love it!

FASTASTIC! Do not let the dry space fool you...they can sound amazingly lush with a few mic tweaks and stereo imaging. I considered Studio over SSS for the fact that it can do both intimate and huge fairly well...didn't disappoint. My one true gripe is there is no portamento for the divisi sections, and no Performance Legato, just Legato performance...but it works like a charm nonetheless. :) Worth every penny.

I really liked the SSSP, it sounds very rich and has a simple, beautiful sound. I would like to note that I sometimes had small bugs like in the pp dynamics violin attack, they start off strong and only then go down. And release the same thing, too.

I thought I had all what I needed until I got this one. The little details on each section, the precise articulations, the usual interface, but with ALL microphones... I'm always amazed on how these libraries could ever improve and you did it once again, thanks!

As always, sounds great

Libraries sound good and robust but It doesnt give you access to all articualtions and playing techniques for larger ensembles 16 violins only got a few patches while 8 violins have everything available. And there is no actual staccato patches for any kind of string only spiccato which is a shortcoming in my opininion. definitely needs an update on the short patches just not enough level of detail for the price demanded.

It’s amazing how real these sound. Mixed with the SF solo strings it’s a tremendous combination

Simply amazing. Spitfire Studio Orchestra match perfectly with Bernard Herrmann Composer Toolkit (despite not being recorded in the same studio)

I’ve been looking for a good string library at a good price point. This library does everything I want it to do plus it sounds so crisp and clear. This is probably one of my favorite libraries right now. Definitely going to be purchasing more Spitfire products!

Great sounding strings! Lots of articulations, a lot of different controls to change the sound. Overall, very easy to use to get started. Probably need a bit more tinkering to get it sounding the best it can but that will probably come with experience.

The best string samples ever, and I've used a ton of different ones. Also a flexible easy to use interface which allows you to really fine tune the string sound you need.
