Product details

Brand: Spitfire Audio

Spitfire Studio Strings marks the first release of a vital all-new Spitfire Orchestra range. Our ambition was to create an incredibly versatile pro-end dry stage sample library. By choosing the crisp and vibrant setting of AIR Studio One, a smaller, more controllable space than the opulent Lyndhurst Hall, we offer our fellow composers a string library with depth, detail, and focus all at once. It will work on anything from passionate period dramas to modern Scandi noir. It’s a fit for quirky indie and crisp pop but can also tackle epic film and games scores.

It is a very good library. It has a lot of character and it is very versatile. The one thing I didn't like is that it does not have the same set of articulations across all different divisi sections. Would be nice to have articulations like "Unmeasured tremolo" or some more similar or as experimental as the ones you can find on LCO Strings.

Wonderful sounding versatile string library. Needs some updates to be 100%, but it is fantastic now.

Brilliant strings sample library - easy to use, well thought out and the sound quality is amazing. I have another big string library by another company but this is by far my favourite.

It is good to have a ‘dry’ sample to play with. I am currently having fun combining it with other Spitfire String libraries and bringing it forward in the mix being able to control how much reverb to use. The samples are fantastic as usual.

i love the dry strings. everything is good except, the "energy"/"velocity" of the strings is always not enough, to do some realistic running or phrase for pop songs (i do cantopop) e.g. i use the string ensemble size 4 4 3 3 usually for arrangement, and for violins, the legato is very not enough energy and velocity. Instead i choose "long" notes, which is more forceful when dynamic and expression is in maximum having bigger dynamic range. This is more favourable for me to program a realistic strings.

I only dock a star because of personal preferences; there have been some libraries lately that are hybrid or synth and I feel that market is flooded. And though I have found many of their older libraries too "wet", their ethnic and percussion libraries, and more recent orchestral fare, have moved to more of a "dry" sound option, so I definitely like the overall trend for the pure acoustic instrument libraries.

So far so good! Still need more time to fully understand it.

I'm very much enjoying this new library. I have many string libraries, but this one is unique and fills a space that the others don't. The samples were very well recorded, and really respond well to adding additional reverb. Very easy to get it up and running, and I've already used it on several recording. There's a lot of depth there, though, and I still have much to explore.

Another fantastic sounding string library from Spitfire. Endless control and great sounding samples.

Excellent addition to the library, lots to use and plenty of great blending opportunities too. Big fan of divisi options.

Spitfire Studio Strings Professional sounds great right out of the box, providing users with an inventory of exotic and staple string articulations alike. Although a few inescapable flaws prevent it from receiving the full 5-star rating it deserves, the good news is that these will potentially be fixed with software updates. If the overall sound wasn’t so crisp and textural, the latent provision of absence short articulations would make no difference. Composers wishing to achieve realistic string performances with a computer have never had it so good. Products to fit all budgets, harddrive footprints and baked-in impulse responses are in such profusion, its surprising that the composing community find so much about which to maintain a perpetual concatenation of dissenting judgment. Perhaps their impossibly high standards result directly from this very saturation?

Hi, I love the tone of your string library, Though the scripting is not perfect. Have the SSS and it’s great but sometimes it’s too wet for me. That is why I also bought the drier studio strings and together they do the job. I would be happy if there was panning option along the volume of mics. I would be happy to hear more about symphony string expansion because there aren’t any specipic demos of the exp and specific price for sss owners.

Buyer very recent I have not yet had the time to test the library in all its potentialities. Due to the number of attacks and microphones available, they are huge. I find the sound a little "smooth" but I have not listened to everything. Above all, I want to thank audio for having contributed such a huge bank for such an affordable price.

I found in this product all the versality, flexibility, nuances and sound quality needed to achieve my audio projects by integrating sample sounds with real instrument (I'm mainly guitarist). I made hear few examples of Studio Strings to a good friend of who is a virtuoso violonist and he was jawdropping. You guys at Spitfire succeeded a masterpiece tool with this new product. I suggest to anyone to watch this very well done video from Paul Thompson. It could be very helpfull.
