I love getting my retainers through this company. The fit perfect. They’re clear and good quality retainers. These are the best retainers for a good price!
BEWARE OF FAKE POSITIVE REVIEWS !!
I bought this product only for them to tell me my impression isn't right over and over. I needed more putty but now they want me to pay extra for it or get a partial refund.

They take a long time to process your moulds to make them into retainers. My impressions were rejected 3 times, then I called them because I was biting into the moulds via the instructions properly and had them approved. Probably a money steal for them. My upper retainer broke and it hasn't even been a full year, cheap material. They wouldn't offer a replacement and wanted me to pay $45 for another set when it's their quality issue.
I ordered an set of retainers from Sporting smiles in June 2022 and was hopeful that the negative reviews were one offs and not every customers experience. But I was wrong. After just 2 months of use and very careful handling and cleaning, one of the retainers split in half. I am not new to retainers I have used the one from my orthodontist for years.
I called them to go a replacement and they said there is nothing they can do. I would have to buy a new one at full price and they would expedite the shipping. Not wanting my teeth to shift I payed for a whole new set in August 2022 and waited for the rush delivery. Fast forward 3 weeks later, I did not receive my order and my emails to customer asking where my order service were ignored. They finally responded the day after I received the order stating that they do not see a rush shipment on the order.
My teeth have already shifted but thankfully it is reversible.
I will never be using them again. I invested thousands in straightening my teeth and using them is a risk to losing it all.
Though the Essex trays they send you look the same as the ones you get from your dental office, they definitely do not hold up over time! Both sets of trays I got from my dental office lasted for years and are still usable. The two sets I got from this company are both trash after one year. If you have any sort of problem that requires you to contact customer service, you'll be greatly disappointed! They don't care and don't even bother to apologize!
Being able to get a retainer online is nice although it took a very long time to get my order – I realize there are covid delays, but I waited 5 weeks when the website says 10 days is normal. So if you're in a hurry, this is not the way to go.
All and all I had a positive experience, and I do recommend Sporting Smiles. First of all, do not be put off with other reviews about making molds. It is not that difficult. They give complete easy to follow instructions, all you have to do is follow them. I got my tops approved on my first try. The bottoms I had to redo once but that was my fault, I didn’t follow instructions closely enough. They re explained in a follow up email, I listened to their instructions, they were approved. Nothing to it. I sent in my approved molds in the end of November. I choose not to pay the additional fee of I believe $35.00 to rush the order. I received my retainers at the end of December. When they arrived the tops were perfect, the bottoms were too loose. I emailed them immediately. A couple days later I received a reply requesting photos of the loose retainers. I sent them that day. A few days later I received a reply email. They offered to re make the bottoms tighter, no need for new molds. I didn’t have to do anything but wait. I received my new bottoms Jan 29th. They fit perfectly. My total order was for two sets of Essex Plus retainers (top and bottoms) two sets of cleaning trays. I had a coupon to receive the cleaning trays free, which I did. My order total was $230.00. My orthodontist charges $500.00 for one set of retainers. These retainers were the exact same quality as I received from my orthodontist. You can not beat Sporting Smiles prices and deals. You do however have to have time to wait. It took two months to receive my correct order. That was fine for me, I had a pair of perfectly good retainers, I was just ordering backups. I strongly suggest everyone does that. Don’t wait until you need them, order in advance you will be happy with this company.
I had a good experience with them, they accept impressions even that I thought were not good and my retainer came out very well, it was thick plastic and would last a long time too. Some people may complain they were not as tight but I wouldn't know because I had gone two weeks without a retainer cuz the flimsy one I had broke so these were tight when I got them and put my teeth back in place to the same as they were before. I really appreciate this service. I took an impression and was worried it wasn't perfect, but in the end after getting another one free and buying another impression kit, the last one came out the same as the first I had discarded and they accepted it, so it was a good experience overall.
Poor quality and only a 30 day warranty. My guard broke in two while sleeping and nearly choked. Do not recommend for use as a night guard.
These people did a good job with my night guard. I received my putty kit in the mail and watched a YouTube video to see how to make an impression of my upper teeth. I mailed it back to them using the prepaid return label and box, and got my night guard and container about 10 days later. The guard itself fits perfectly and I'm very happy with the results. I paid $600 to my dentist for a night guard in the past and she used a similar putty mixture for the impression. She mixed the putty the same way I did and mailed it off to be made by some facility. I just wished my guard container had holes in it to air out my guard when it's being stored. I ordered a separate container with air holes from Amazon (cheap and lasts forever).
These night guards will eventually get nasty after a while with the bacteria build up. I'll probably order a new one every four years since they're so cheap. If you want to get ripped off, then get a guard from your dentist. After all, it's your money. LoL.
I agree with another review, just skip this and go to the dentist/orthodontist. Sure, it is more expensive, but you will end up with a retainer versus shipping unusable molds. It is not as easy to make a mold as you might think.
Sporting Smiles sent me a impression kit and I followed the instructions given. I sent it back to them and I received an email that my impression wasn't going to work and I had to pay $15 in order for them to send me out another kit which I did. I received a busted up and torn impression kit box. It was so bad that you could literally see inside of it. The mold or putty that was used for the impression was defective and harden almost instantly after mixing it. I paid a total of $105 and I asked for a refund of $90 because of the initial kit that was sent to me. I even went as far as calling this company and I tried to get this resolved. I was told that they would get back to me but after waiting a whole week for a call back I realized that they were not trying to resolve this issue. They do not want to give me my money back. This company is horrible and if you have a problem they will try to keep your money. BEWARE of Sporting Smiles.
Very difficult to get a proper mold with the material and the instructions they send. Everything will be your fault. I currently have a credit card dispute now. MOLD material is wet sticky does not work. MAKES A Bad impression. I need my money back. Just go to the dentist and get it done.
