Useless

I bought the cover when I bought the sofa. I never received the policy details till I had to ask specifically for it. It then took several weeks for them to find the details. I submitted a claim to then find out they could not help and would not cover for the damage occurred. Really helpful to have paid for it!

Refusal to honour Warranty for an identical repair previously honoured by Staingard. Typical appalling treatment of ‘the small man’ by the ‘big company’.

I purchased a double seater leather electric recliner sofa from AHF in May 2020 Warranty. Type: Leather stains and accidental damage. One of the cushions ACCIDENTALLY ‘failed’ in May 2023. I claimed via Staingard with the cushion being replaced, hassle free. The same cushion has again ACCIDENTALLY recently failed.
However my new claim, for the same reason and cushion which was previously replaced by Staingard under my Warranty has been declined by Staingard.
Reason from Staingard: ‘The failed cushion isn’t covered under my Warranty and the previous repair should not have been sanctioned!’

Strange that my Warranty expires next month!?!?
I am claiming for a failed cushion previously replaced under the same Staingard Warranty!?!?

Initial claim cancelled after 3 months with no explanation

We submitted a claim Dec 10th 2024, the technician attended and approved the claim. Now, 3 months later we receive an email stating that the claim has been cancelled with no explanation at all.

The following day we recieved another email stating that a new claim has been initiated and that it will take 14 weeks.

To this date we have no information on why the first claim was cancelled and have not been provided with details for this new claim. As a result, we can not find out if it is indeed a replacement for the first claim.

The claim was for a simple red wine stain on two cushions on our sofa- it should not take 26 weeks to repair.

If you are considering purchasing insurance, it makes sense to avoid Staingard.

Mis sold insurance stated covered but then refuse

Took a platinum sofa insurance policy out two years ago for a five year period. This was not cheap! I took it because it offers and I quote “ loss of resilience due to foam or fibre cushions”. We have experienced this issue and requested an assessment to be told the policy doesn’t cover this. I was confused because it clearly states that this is! I feel like the insurance is mis sold and feel this is one for the ombudsman to consider as this cannot be right to sell a product with exact wording but then refuse that exact working claim. I don’t expect something for nothing but I do expect a policy to cover what it clearly states it covers.
Do not buy this insurance policy I cannot recommend it and strongly advice against it

Update 27th Jan following report from Emmeria

I identified that my sofa had very suddenly experienced a loss of resilience to foam and fibre interiors on the 01-01-2025. On this date I made a claim via the insurance company process (claim ref number provided above).

Following an assessment by a representative from Emmiera they have confirmed that my policy does cover “ a loss of resilience to foam and fibre interiors” formally in a letter sent to me

However they have refused to help with any rectification of this issue stating that their technician says their is no issue with the sofa and I my claim is also invalid because I did not reported this within the required 14 day period.

Firstly, I am very upset to hear this because the technician stated (whilst at my property) that there was a loss of resilience in my sofa and confirmed that it occurred on the right hand side. I cannot, therefore, understand why the letter from the company says something different.

Secondly, the 14 day delay is fabricated by the company. I notified them and made the claim in line with the claims procedures on the day I identified the issue. There was no delay on my part.

This company is marking their own work and having company bias in their favour to avoid supporting claims.
