I would definitely recommend Stamp duty claims. The process for me was scarily easy. You just provide information on any issues that were in your property when you bought it.

They have clawed back stamp duty on 2 properties for me. Their commission is high but it’s a no win no fee.

Apparently HMRC have 9 months to double check the refund and potentially ask for it back so just hold onto your cash for a while. If this happens I’m told that SDC refund their commission.

I have been very impressed with the service of the Stamp Duty Claims team who have successfully claimed back a large proportion of a stamp duty payment that we paid in 2020 on a buy to let property that needed major refurbishment. The 'no win, no fee' contract means that you have nothing to lose and the fee, if successful, is modest for the work that SDC do on your behalf.
