Sick to death of this printer .Always having trouble to connect to laptop or phone, will never ever buy Canon again.
Slow delivery but great price and product
Seems that quite a few reviewers have had a bad experience, but wanted to give an example of what I found to be a decent overall experience.
Delivery communications were a bit slower than expected, but item was received within 8 calendar days. Great camera which also came at a great price (bundle with body and two lenses).
Abysmal
Abysmal. Don't expect any packages to arrive Soon. it has taken them 5 days to post out a 1.4 extender. and its going to tale even longer for it to Arrive from Denmark. They even include the trick on the day ordered that it's posted to prevent you cancelling. all they have done is create a lable with UPS. It's Not UPS fault that is late arriving. Canon just wont give them the package. so Now its 6 days UPS are still waiting for it. If you want Canon goods Go to a High street shop.
8 week and still waiting for my cash back.
I have now been waiting nearly 8 weeks for my canon £100 cash back.
Today I received an email saying they are experiencing problems with their transfers.
I know this is another tactic used to delay payments.
This is disgraceful business management from canon.
I don't really want to give them one star but I have to rate them before I was able to write a review.
No Canon technical support!
I just cannot believe some of the reviews I am reading here. My grievance is a bit different and initially I would implore people not to buy Canon as they have zero respect for existing customers let alone new ones. Their technical support now seems non existent.
I have had a Canon EOS 100D camera for about seven years and have been highly delighted with it. I have occasionally had to call technical support and have found some very knowledgeable people there. Not any more.
For some reason Canon have now changed the way you crop photos. Now I have been cropping them very happily for seven years. You need to crop photos for different reasons: aesthetics, to enlarge the subject or to attach a photo to an e-mail as the file would otherwise be too big. It is difficult to fathom out what is going on. I therefore rang their technical support, the front liners being in Greece. They were not able to help so put me on to their second line support, which is in the UK. After a week I got a call. However, they were little better and like the Greek office, just gave me a link. They even told me to go any buy a manual! Remember, I have had the camera for seven years. In all I was given about half a dozen useless links. All I wanted was a person who knew about the change and who could simply explain how now to crop photos. I ended up being totally abandoned as they said they had given me all the links I need and could not provide any further help. I do not believe there is technical support at Canon anymore and I take the view it would be better if they could say so rather than blaming the customer. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Like others, I would give nil points if I could.
Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere
See the edit below: Same situation as many of the other reviews here, so I am not going to rewrite what’s already been written. It is the most hopeless store on the internet, with zero customer service. Save yourself the headache and buy somewhere else.
Edit: Arrived today, so while the entire process is poor and confusing. Ordered Sunday and arrived today. Corrected the review to 3 stars, Canon sort your website and logistics out so customers get the correct data, and make it much clearer on your site around the delivery time scales I shouldn’t have to go diving to see them.
Wish I could give zero stars or less
Against my better judgement I bought a lens from the Canon UK store, but the link they provided to my receipt did not work so my cashback claim was refused as invalid. Emailed CanknUK Store but received no response. Eventually raised a complaint with Canon UK who located my receipt so I could validate my claim. I should not need to contact Canon multiple times to get them to rectify their errors.
Terrible service
Really bad service. Payment taken for camera order, UPS label “created” and then… nothing. Just continued delays, UPS have yet even receive the product to dispatch despite Canon sending a fake estimated delivery date (which has now passed). Stock isn’t in UK, it’s in the Netherlands and customer service won’t refund me because they have already “processed” my order.
I've given up waiting ordered the camera I wanted from a UK store, got next day delivery for free. Whenever Canon get their act together and actually send my camera, I will return it. Avoid avoid avoid.
No response to messages at alll
By accident I ordered 2 ink cartridges, one incorrect one correct. I did this as it didn’t show me my basket before I checked out. As soon as I got the confirmation, it said if any errors contact them before it’s dispatched. I did straight away. No response. The cartridges arrived. I emailed twice over a period of days to arrange for a return label, no response. I have just done a live chat and finally have a label.
I would give zero stars if possible.
I would give zero stars if possible.
Ordered camera with lense for my partner which costed me around £1500. They acknowledged my order and it was cancelled after two days. Called customer service and they were not able to tell me why it was cancelled - they kept saying “security reasons” and to contact my bank. My bank said that the transaction went through to them and it was approved. Called again and they kept saying they can’t tell me anything due to “security reasons”. Absolute rubbish. Please avoid buying anything from their original cannon website uk.
absolutely atrocious customer service
absolutely atrocious customer service. avoid ordering any goods from Canon uk store, they are a Nightmare to deal with, they will just pass you from one to another customer service team to another to deal with the order you placed, which has not been delivered even though well overdue. The worst experience I have ever encountered when buying online I am a 80years of age with dementia & they have caused me so much stress & anxiety!!!!
The worst experience ever…
The worst experience ever after spending 4500 pounds, I will never buy from this official canon site again, order has been placed and I get an email confirmation and the next email is that your order has been cancelled for no reason. They won't tell you the reason as the technical team even doesn't know what happened. They blame the bank and ask to go to the bank and check.
I wish I had read these reviews before…
I wish I had read these reviews before buying direct from Canon.
Shocking that a known, reputable brand like Canon, should have such a shockingly poor direct sales capabilities.
Ordered a printer with ink, not a small purchase. Poor delivery updates, multiple reschedules by their partner UPS, and multiple dates missed. Eventually the printer was "delivered" to some depot because the UPS van ran out of time on their slot. No potential for actual delivery to me now, so looks like I'll have to go and collect the parcel myself. Not convinced it will be in one piece, or correct, based on other people's experience.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
cancelled my order for no reason and didn't inform me
cancelled my order for no reason without getting in touch with me, despite the website stating the camera was in stock and also sending an order acknowledgment email. Customer service are useless both via email and telephone. Complete waste of time. I don't believe the stock levels they seem to have as I have read other people having had similar experiences.
I just pretended to buy them
Update:
As with the last set of cartridges, the ink ran out after only having printed about one-hundred sheets.
Not economical, at all. The company themselves, anything but forthcoming.
(if you wish to waste money, ignore what I just said).
---
The Pixma inkjet owned and in use over the years has always been reliable, working without issue; the cartridges, however, are another matter - they run dry too quickly, leading to the conclusion that maybe less ink is put inside of them than one might first think. And who you buy replacements from, does not alter the outcome.
Recently, Canon was emailed because the printer was hardly in use over the course of 2021 and sheets printed matched the lack of usage - the company made me run through a long series of tests before saying that they would need, not only the empty cartridges but a receipt to prove we had bought them. And the supermarket from which we purchased them has closed its email service, making it difficult to find a way to make the store locate the sale - which is what Canon expects us to do, should we not be able to find the receipt.
The offer I put forward to Canon, which was to send the cartridges all the same, should I not be able to provide proof-of-purchase and therefore with no hope of return on the finances, so that they could analyse them for future purposes, was turned down.
Because...they know that these cartridges are extremely expensive in ratio to the amount of prints you get from each set, and which suits them very well.
Great product, horrendous service
I ordered the replacement battery in plenty of time before I left for New York and the battery arrived while I was out there. I was fuming!
Canon uk store is useless
Canon uk store is useless. I ordered a Canon mirrorless kit because Canon was offering £100 cash back. Despite jumping through lots of hoops, I eventually submitted my claim.
After two weeks I received an email telling me that they needed proof of purchase. I’d already submitted what I could locate. The point is that I’d ordered online and I could easily prove that I’d ordered from them: Order number. Product number. Amount paid, etc. I submitted screenshots of their own correspondence with me. Evidently that’s not enough.
Completely disappointing. A useless company to deal with.
Order being cancelled by them
Whenever I order a camera worth of £800 I receive an email saying they have acknowledged my order but then they send me another email saying they cancelled it. For no obvious reason. It is so frustrating !! The customer service is USELESS they keep repeating the same thing « for security reasons we can not tell you the reason ». There is no official UK store so I don’t know how else I could get that camera. Pathetic
Ordered an eos M50 Mark II and received…
Ordered an eos M50 Mark II and received emails about order confirmation and delivery, but received another e-mail saying my order was cancelled and will be refunded. More than 2 weeks later I'm still waiting for a refund - their refund policy is 14 days. £700 gone! A shame since their products are so good, considering moving to different company altogether.
Poorly run company
Poorly run company, extremely surprised they're still in business. They couldn't' careless about customers.
I will be avoiding anything Canon.
