I have been working with the team at Study Active through my role as a Fitness Manager and my experience has been excellent. For example, all of the tutors are great, especially Jo and Julian, and Tammy has been extremely helpful with the Career Growth Accelerator programme. These have been particularly helpful for supporting our recruitment of motivated and knowledgeable graduates, as well as accessing high quality training for our team.

The combination of these factors makes Study Active stand out, as a training provider that cares about their students and are able to deliver outstanding training, qualifications and career pathways for their students.

This course was excellent, the online learning is super informative and easy to navigate.
The tutors were always helpful and responsive, I met Jo for my practical assessment who was really friendly and talked me through the process which put me at ease.

The course content was thorough and well-structured, but what truly set this apart was the tutor support. Whenever I felt stuck or had questions, the response was quick, clear, and genuinely helpful. I never felt left on my own.

A special mention goes to my examiner, Colin. I was nervous going into the practical session, but Colin made me feel completely at ease. His calm and encouraging approach allowed me to relax and actually enjoy the assessment rather than just stress through it. Because of that, I was able to present the very best side of my practical test and perform at my true level.

Study Active has been a great communicator, responding to queries and emails quicker than I expect, even through their busy times.

I have had examinations and video submissions graded fairly with some great feedback, and within the expected time-frame. They have always been friendly and engaging with my issues and questions over the phone and accommodating to my own particular circumstances when approaching a tight interviewing schedule.

On occasions in which a professional couldn't commit to an answer, arrangements were upheld to return my calls and emails.

In conclusion, I look back with pleasure at the experience I've had with my tutors and other members of the team who have helped encourage me through my practical assessments, exams and future as a Personal Trainer.

Where do I begin…

Update : in their response to this review, Study Active have responded publicly on this platform and disclosed my name on 5 separate instances despite my username being anonymised (a practice they have not used with other reviewers.) the exact amounts paid, financial details, and details of our private conversations- all taken from my personal records and without my consent. Despite my asking for that information to be redacted three times, they have refused. I have now had to report them to the ICO.

For context, I love learning, and have taken many courses through my adult life.

This is the worst. The platform is glitchy. The learning methodology is utter rubbish. I had to buy extra books because the way you learn on the platform just doesn’t make sense.

I read the reviews on here before purchasing and I will be honest, it feels like those people experienced a completely different company.

There are no check ins, not even automated ones. They literally take your money and give you a log in.

The voice on the training courses is like listening to the teacher from Peanuts “wah-wah-wah-wah” I had university lecturers who were less droning. This makes it really hard to absorb anything the trainer is saying because it’s all monotone.

Now, now onto the other problematic part. I bought 3 courses together but for personal reasons and the fact with the useless training I felt I was never going to make it through level 2…they agreed to stop my direct debits.

I have only ever had access to level 2.

However, they have taken more than £1100 from my account, for a course they advertise at £699 and will not refund the difference. Despite my statutory rights, they just keep throwing the 14 day cooling off period at me as a reason not to refund the difference.

To be fair, I should probably have asked for a full refund because it’s useless. Read the books you will get better knowledge.

All in all, avoid them like the plague because they couldn’t care less about their customers or whether they pass the training or not.

Studying with Study Active has been a positive and rewarding experience, providing me with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to begin working effectively as a personal trainer

I am a small gym owner in Hackney Wick (London) and I reached out to Study Active to see if they could help us recruit a new Coach for our gym. Tammy was AMAZING, I couldn't be more thankful to her, she really listened to my brief and what we were looking for. Within two weeks she had lined up an interview with a candidate who literally ticked all the boxes. I completed both my Level 2 and Level 3 Personal Training Diplomas with Study Active and couldn’t be happier with the experience. I travelled to their centres for my in-person assessments and every visit was seamless - the assessors were supportive, clear, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed.

Ali and Tammy in customer care were outstanding. They were incredibly responsive, friendly, and always on the ball with any questions I had. Charlie’s feedback on my coursework was consistently detailed, constructive, and honestly some of the most helpful guidance I’ve ever received in an education setting.

The whole process felt professional, supportive, and well organised from start to finish. I’d recommend StudyActive without hesitation.

The course was extremely easy to navigate and the tutors were always quick to respond with any questions/queries I had along the way.

I recently completed my L2 Practical Assessment with Rebecca and found the experience to be surprisingly pleasant. Going into an exam can be nerve-wracking, but Rebecca made me feel comfortable and at ease immediately.

What I appreciated most was that she allowed my session to flow naturally without any interruptions, which helped me perform at my best. Afterwards, she provided incredibly valuable and constructive feedback that wasn't just about passing the exam, but will actually help me and my clients moving forward. I felt genuinely supported throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!

I have had a great experience with the Level 2 gym instructor course. Study material was really clear and useful, I really liked the videos that supplement the work.
Charlie was fantastic during my assessment. Despite being nervous at the start, she really makes you feel at ease and I actually ended up enjoying the assessment. She gave really useful advice and tips too.
Now onto the level 3!!

Thank you to the team at study active for helping me complete my level 2 in gym instructing and level 3 Personal training! Tammy and Charlie have been great to work with and have been very reliable and attentive whether that be in marking work, replying on emails or returning phone calls. Both have gone above and beyond in taking time to explain things clearly and answer any questions, whilst also assisting in CV advice, interview techniques and job vacancies.

I’ve completed a few courses with Study Active and my experience for each has been amazing. The tutors and staff are always so friendly and helpful. I recently completed the Pilates course and it was top notch and the venue was lovely. Definitely recommend!

The journey from start to finish was smooth, and I especially enjoyed the practical assessment where I picked up something new each time. I’ve recently completed my Level 3 Personal Training course with Study Active and have been thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The course materials and video content were clear, well-structured and easy to follow, which made studying around a busy schedule much more manageable.

The tutors and admin team have been excellent – always responsive, supportive and quick to help whenever I had a query. The practical assessments were also far less daunting than I expected. The examiners were very friendly and put me at ease throughout. In particular, Colin Archer was fantastic and helped me feel relaxed and confident, which meant I could perform at my best.

I would highly recommend Study Active to anyone considering a fitness qualification and will definitely be using them again for any future courses.
