Horrible staff
Horrible staff. Tracking device is broken or invalid whatever you want to call it. Issues with their website with regards to updating payments and processing. Tracking device is broken as it claims it delivers even when I inquired that I didn’t receive my delivery I was informed that they cancelled it and told the driver to return to the store(5 times). Do something about this SuperValu or you will lose custom. Big time.
TRIPPING OVER CARPETS
Recently I tried to explain to the manager of SuperValu Blackrock Dublin Rd (Co. Louth) that the large red carpet when you enter the store is a dangerous obstacle...I tripped over it...a friend of mine tripped over it as well. So, I wrote an official complain (with pictures) to this manager and the owner of SuperValu (Musgrave). In the same complaint I mentioned a few more issues such as blocked aisles and no pricing to see on promotional items ! Only after a whole month of waiting this manager was willing to give an answer...no word about the red carpet...but...as a kind of revenge that I dared to complain, two other carpets were added at the entrance of the shop ! The big red carpet has been removed now...the other two carpets are still there. This manager does not want to understand that customers have the right to make a claim if they suffer damage from a fall caused by these carpets ! I do remember that a Tesco customer was awarded € 10.000,- who bought milk that had been sold after the use by date...(just Google this) ! You can imagine how much you can claim if you fall to the ground due to these dangerous obstacles (loose carpets) and you break your hand or phone !

I tried to use the coin machine which duly swallowed all my coins without a receipt, a manager took my number with a promise to call when the matter was resolved, I got no call so attended shop 2 days later. I felt that I was dealt with very poorly. I was offered the princely sum of €14 for a full jar of Coins which I consider less than half the value. The attitude less than helpful
Supervalu Newcastle disastrous
It's an ongoing bad experience with Supervalu Newcastle. Bread, milk, veg etc on display always almost out of date (ie one day out). Never freshest. Service at tills appalling as never enough staff it seems. Today at self service waited 5 minutes for assistance which only arrived when another customer asked server behind newspaper counter to call someone. This is not an exceptional experience, this is the norm.

Home delivery
Home delivery. After missing purchases as much as €50 worth. Usually more expensive items: Coffee olive oil etc. Suspicious, I’m starting to think someone is stealing a whole bag if one of those items is in it.
when I notice I either tell the delivery guy or call the store.
Sometimes the delivery guy comes back with some of the missing items. Not the store, every time (at least 4) I speak to them they promise call me back and to deliver next day. They never do. NEVER!
I’ve called back more promises but nothing arrives.
I’m done with them either managed by crooks, staffed by crooks.
To be clear I don’t blame the delivery drivers it’s obvious to me they are overworked.

Rotten vegetables and not the first time
I went in to buy vegetables last week from supervalu again and not for the first time I found that they were rotten when I returned home. I emailed supervalu about this. They decided to get the company that supplies them with the vegetables contact me instead of dealing directly with them and myself. Afterall supervalu were the ones who put the rotten vegetables on the shelf to sell them. I am also not her to sort out there supply chain. Where seemly the problem lies. At the end of the day supervalu didn't seem to care about there customers.

I got beat up by an employee
I got beat up by an employee of supervalu after asking where the canned tomatos. It all started at sutton cross supervalu when i peacefully went for some canned tomatos and other groceries a young fella came over and called me a 'boomer', and he gave me a nasty fist in the face! can you believe that?
I'm never EVER going back! unless they give me a bit of good ol' compensation. I want at LEAST €20, it's what i deserve for bein a veteran of 'nam

I was falsely accused of trying to leave the Northside shopping centre branch with an item that I had just paid for seconds earlier. This happened on Christmas eve. It was due to an incompetent member of staff who was talking to her colleagues and not concentrating on what she was meant to be doing.
I raised a complaint with the manager on duty but I'm still waiting on a reply from the store manager. I've been a customer of Supervalu for over twenty years. I'll never buy anything again from any of their branches.
