Really great team and relatively painless, stress free procedure.

The pre-op consultation was straightforward and informative. The procedure was easy and as I say pretty painless - bar the initial anastetic injections but even these were nothing more than a bee sting. Staff throughout were brilliant.

After car support and advice has also been great.

I like to see myself as a macho man (my wife would say otherwise) and the idea of having cosmetic surgery would have previously been frowned upon by myself and my friends. Honestly though my friends have been great about it, a bit of banter here and there but at the end of the day if you're not happy with your hair do something about it - you have nothing to lose (bar £££).

If people ask my why I just say that it's just because I wanted to, because I didn't like my rubbish patchy hair. No other explanation needed.

The word transplant sounds scary but it's just someone moving some hair from the back of my head to the front.

I cannot recommend Dr Moussa Ahmad enough!
It has been just under 7 weeks after my hair transplant by Dr Moussa Ahmad.

I cannot comment about the results of the hair transplant as I still have a long way to go before seeing the final outcome however I can speak about the overall experience.

From the outset, Matthew had been very responsive by text and calls with any questions I had. Matthew is very knowledgeable and had an informed response with any question I threw at him in the run up to the surgery.

I had an initial consultation with Dr Ahmad Moussa which was very helpful and the Doc was able to rest my concerns with a lot of things and gave me a sense of assurance. Upon my research of Dr Moussa, I realised how experienced he was a doctor and felt safe in his hands.

My ONE gripe with this whole experience was the initial hotel I was booked into for my trip to Nottingham. Avoid Bennetts Hotel at all cost. Despite the close proximity to the surgery, I had the worst night sleep (basically none) due to loud bangs and talking all over the hotel at all hours of the night. The breakfast was also horrendous. I expressed my dissatisfaction with Matthew in the morning and he told me to book the local Novotel at his cost for the second night. I did this and the Novotel was a million times better. I haven't marked down the Surgery Group for this because it does not reflect the service I was provided either by Matthew and Jake nor Doctor Moussa.

Despite my horrid night before, Dr Moussa looked after me throughout the procedure and I felt calm when he was around. Dr Moussa applies the general anaesthetic and then supervises the several technicians who extract the hair from the back of your head. Upon conversing with the technicians, they all seemed to have over 10 years experience (bar one trainee who sat in for only a short while). The technicians who seemed very knowledgeable and experienced and I was happy to have them working on my head.

Doctor Moussa carried out the incisions on the top of my head and I was so calm that I actually fell asleep! After that, the technicians implanted the extracted hair follicles.

I had 2,400 grafts so overall I was in the surgery for 9 hours (less an hour or so preparing and eating lunch). I cannot lie and say it was a pain free experience but no pain no gain, as they say. My head was extremely sore the first night but the painkillers helped.

I stayed at the Novotel the second night and it was a far more pleasant experience. I woke up, had a lovely breakfast, then made my 2 hour journey home.

Matthew passed me over to Jake for the after care. Jake checks up on you every day for the first week or so. Again, I threw a lot of questions and he was quick to respond. You never feel alone in this.

I recovered well in the initial two weeks. Sleeping upright is tough but if you have the right pillows you manage. I am at the seventh week and all the hairs from the transplanted grafts have fallen out as expected. Still got a long way to go but could not be happier that I actually did it.

My cousin took one look at me when I got back home and already booked his surgery and got it done within 4 weeks of me doing mine.

Like I said before, it is not a pain free experience and it is a rough couple of weeks but I would do it all over again. I may still do it again to do add hair to my thinning crown.

It may be cheaper going abroad but knowing you are being looked after by doctors qualified in the UK with the correct insurance is priceless. I cannot say how much better it feels knowing that I had the security of doing it in the UK. I would definitely recommend Dr Moussa Ahmad to anyone and already have to many people who have been very interested with my progress.

I did a lot of research before deciding who I should go with for my hair transplant, and Surgery Group were way above every other service provider in the industry that I contacted. From the off Matt was very open, honest, friendly, and knowledgeable. He also set up a phone consultation with Surgeon Dr Ahmad Moussa, to discuss if I was a suitable candidate and what I was hoping to achieve. I was filled with confidence throughout, that the Surgery Group genuinely take pride in their work, and the reputation and outcome of such is of upmost importance rather than simply making a sale.

I was torn between FUE and FUT even up to a month before my transplant was booked. Matt and Jake went out of their way to help me make the right decision, and being a man with long hair (that I wish to maintain) I’m glad I eventually went for the FUT procedure.

The day of procedure itself was fine. Dr Ahmad’s team of technicians were equally friendly, and the “family” feel of the group throughout put me at ease whilst continuing to instil confidence that I was in expert/competent hands. Any questions or concerns I had were always dealt with, and the same standard of support has been kept up with the after care. Particularly during what was quite a difficult first night at home!

Having had the transplant in January I am currently in the ‘ugly duckling’ phase of growth, meaning not much is going on. But I can see the potential and remain very hopeful of a good outcome. Afterall I’m in this for the long haul, not a short term fix. As such I can’t recommend the Surgery Group enough for anyone considering a hair transplant. If I ever need further work or top-ups, I’ll definitely be doing so with these guys.

Equally as impressive the second time around.
This time I went back for a partial beard transplant, arrived and greeted warmly along with two techs and Dr Ahmad Moussa, having used Dr Moussa before I wanted him to preform my second surgery. He’s very open, willing to work with you at every turn and won’t make anything happen until you as the patient are happy with it.
I find he really goes above and beyond and can you ask for anything more?

Two techs were wonderful, caring and looked after me well.

Jake was the guy from the start to the finish line. Set up, reminders, payment, aftercare, simply fantastic what he does within the company.

Highly recommend the whole process, company and premises.
Hope they make many more people happy.

Jake was dealing with my surgery and he was in constant communication with me through out the whole process, can’t fault these guys, always had a reply within seconds of asking a question.

My call with Jake after contacting Surgery Group Nottingham answered all my questions and queries on having a hair transplant, Jake was very supportive, informative and actually helped me in making my decision to go with Surgery Group after several calls and consultations with other companies. Superb service from Surgery Group, from start to finish. To be able to speak directly to the owner (Matthew - great guy) then to the surgeon himself was so refreshing, after speaking to the salesmen of other (more expensive!) companies. I had two transplants with these guys and the aftercare from Jake and Matthew was second to none. The surgery itself was carried out expertly by Dr Ahmed and his wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for me (they even bought me lunch!) If you're thinking about a hair transplant, do not hesitate to go with Surgery Group!

If you are considering a hair transplant then I would recommend you not look any further than Surgery Group Ltd! They were absolutely amazing and I am very glad I used them instead of all the other expensive options out there both here and abroad. I am a healthcare professional and at an age of 30 years I still have a fairly full head of hair. The only thing that "annoyed" me was that my hairline was receding so as to making the peaks of the classic 'M-shape' or more commonly known as widows peak more prominent and noticeable. Surgery Group Ltd was recommended to me by a good friend whose partner had used their services with some incredible results. I decided to go ahead and book in for a consultation and I'm glad as its the best decision I made! I had my reservations about hair transplant but after extensive hours of research, and speaking with the Dr all my questions were answered and addressed. I went ahead and booked in for the procedure for January 2022. The whole process from start through to the aftercare was 5-star! Jake was extremely helpful and always just a message/call away; he would answer any queries prior and post op and his aftercare was spot on! He kept in regular contact and checked in on the new grafts daily/bi-daily after the procedure. The Surgeon at Surgery Group had over a decade's experience behind him as well his technicians team; Phil was awesome and made me feel at ease through the process (which was a 10-hour day). The level of skill and care of attention to detail is phenomenal! One of my concerns was the "doll-hair" effect, where newly transplanted front hairline grafts look like thicker thread like hairs. This was a concern of mine as I did not want an unnatural look. The Surgery Group team members explained that they ensure only single hair shaft grafts are placed at the front of the hair-line and if needed the grafts are cut down to single hairs under a microscope! This was the case in my instance where my grafts were actually quite dense and almost every graft taken out was doubles or triples. Phil and the team individually cut 300 grafts down to singles to place at the front of the hairline - this is absolutely incredible attention to detail! I am now a couple weeks post-procedure and super excited for the results. Surgery Group have been an absolute pleasure and their service is highly professional, friendly, very well priced (brilliant value for money) and highly competent! I would highly recommend anyone looking or even considering a hair transplant to approach Surgery Group and have a consultation with one of the surgeons. Many thanks to the whole Team!

Fantastic experience from initial consultation through to post procedure care!

Everyone connected to The Surgery Group are genuine from the moment you speak to them and throughout the process! No BS, sales spin or unnecessary science, your care and satisfaction is their only concern.

The procedure was more invasive than I had thought it would be and there were periods of being uncomfortable but overall it was bearable. Post op also brought some pain and swelling challenges but nothing I wasn’t advised on beforehand and support was on hand when needed. Bottom line is follow the post op guidance notes and you will be fine. The end result looks great even knowing it will fall out and take time to regrow it has restored lost confidence.

My care team consisted of Jake, Matthew, Dr Ahmed, Maz, Claire and Anna. Thanks to all of you for your amazing work!

In the first instance I have to say a big "thank you" to the entire team who has been part of my experience so far. I am on day 17 following the procedure and (in no particular order), Jake, Matthew, Dr Ahmad, Amanda, Phil and Maz have all played their role in delivering a service that has been first class. I have had 2250 grafts in my crown and frontal area, creating what I hope to be a much improved and fuller hair line. The initial progress is good and comments from friends and family have been reassuring. The price I paid was a very competitive price and in my mind represents good value compared to other competitors. This said, the price paid is not the full story, as its the service of the said individuals pre, post and during, which is the reason why I would say don't bother wasting your time looking anywhere else. I did read the reviews and testimonials before talking to the team and I have to say, I agree with what the overwhelming majority are saying, that this really is the complete package. I look forward to seeing the end result in what has so far been a very positive experience, and one that I certainly do not regret.

I spoke with a few clinics before I chose to go with The Surgery Group, based on the impressive consultations I had with both Jake and Dr. Ahmed and the very reasonable price offered for a 2500-graft FUT (I previously had an £8000 900-graft FUE in my naivety to go with the highest priced and not look around, and it was much below the standard I received from The Surgery Group).

After the pre-consultation with Dr. Ahmed, where I was given some solid advice for now and planning for the future, Matthew booked a hotel for me a few minutes away from the clinic.

The technicians and Dr. were great throughout the surgery and in managing any pain.

Jake's support and the level of care both before and after surgery was incredible and a huge help, particularly during the aftercare stage.

I first came across surgery group in my search for a particular procedure I was contemplating. After analyzing a number of other clinics, I had opted to go through them for my procedure.

After initial consultation, I was referred to a partner\friendly clinic for the procedure and had decided to leverage their finance option for the procedure. After later discussions, they had indicated that I miscorrectly understood the finance option, with it not extending to this particular procedure, but they nonetheless opted to support me through that process.

When things didn't pan out as expected due to challenges with the finance company, the group nonetheless gave me some candor advice about other finance options and how to investigate what my best options were; which enabled me to find a suitable fiance option for my procedure.

They had done all of this, despite standing nothing to gain but to help a fellow individual and for that I commend them (the procedure was with another practice).

The surgery group have been great from start to present of my hair transplant experience. The lead up to the surgery, Jake was checking in to see how I was and if I had any questions prior to the op. Dr Mani was the surgeon who carried out the operation and was excellent from start to finish, being extremely professional and put me at ease. Since the op I have been in frequent contact with Dr Mani and Jake who have been giving me advice on my after care and checking in to see how the transplant is progressing. I would recommend the Surgery Group to anyone else looking into having a hair transplant. They are highly professional and you really do feel like you’re being looked after.

Dr Ahmed and his team have been fantastic throughout, from initial consultation and arranging accommodation for me, right through to the day of surgery and beyond.
