Terrible product. I am an inner city cyclist, and in a lifetime of cycling I had more flat tyres with Tannus Armour inserts than any other (vanilla) set up because they fail. They seem to be very badl... See more

Tannus Tyres are like no other bicycle tyre on the planet. Being solid, a Tannus Airless Tyre can withstand everything that would normally stop you flat with a pneumatic tyre. Nails, glass, sharp metal objects, and thorns are no longer your enemy.

Switching to Tannus was THE best thing I ever did - zero punctures - no need to worry about tyre pressure - solid and stable - FANTASTIC !! (Hybrid, commuting 16 miles most days - also used for 200 mile holiday in Summer 2017.)

The company are fine
The company are fine. The tyres themselves were great at first and I was quite happy with them, however the rear wore down *really* quickly. Less than 2000 miles and it was un-usuable. The front still looked pretty good though.

Happy with the service received and glad to be free of the worry of any punctures during these cold, dark, wet, windy evenings. (Perhaps a little pricey though?)

Tannus Solid Tyre
I bought a Tannus solid tyre in 2015 and was most disappointed with it. The back wheel felt like it was losing grip with the road whenever I turned a corner, particularly in the wet, and it was not particularly comfortable to ride. But the most serious issue was after I managed to break a spoke after less than a year and the back wheel buckled seriously. What was not made clear when I bought it was that you can't remove the tyre without destroying it. The Tannus was neither cheap to buy, nor to replace, particularly when I had to buy a new wheel as well. All in all, a very expensive mistake.

5-stars for innovation
Tannus' products deserve a five-star rating just for their innovation in the bike tyre industry alone. I changed my MTB tyres to a pair of Tannus rigid/tubeless tyres after coming back from a holiday, ready to go out for a ride, only to find a flat front tyre. That was the final straw after three or four punctures in as many months, so I promptly ordered a 26" x 1.75 set including fitting that evening.
Nine months and almost 600 miles later, I'm still smitten with the tyres. A quick brake check before your ride and that's it: you're away, let alone never having to worry about stopping en-route to fix a flat or even carrying repair kits. The bike feels exactly the same as if it was on normal rubber tyres, with an equivalent 60psi which keeps rolling resistance low.
There are just two downsides: one, the fitting shop warned me about cycling over painted lines in the road, as the compound used in the tyre doesn't grip well on them. I've experienced some movement on white lines too, and while I've never come off, you do need to take care.
The second issue is potential tyre wear. The rear tyre on my MTB, which admittedly does all the work, particularly as you sit further back and more upright than a road bike, has lost its centre seam and I'm now wearing into the tread itself. The front is still virtually as new, but I reckon another 600-750 miles from now (a total of around 1,200-1,300 miles) the rear could need replacement. Before buying, I had read another user who said at 2,000km (or 1,242 miles) he had to replace them. Perhaps something for Tannus to continue developing.
These are small details though and I thoroughly recommend the tyres - it's as hassle-free as it gets.

Great innovation
Such a great idea. The initial cost might seem high, but considering the overall lifespan and the convenience it's worth it.

Gives real confidence when riding
Gives real confidence when riding, and quite comfortable. Also means you can grab your bike and go without having to check tyre pressure, and go in places where you might have worried about puncture risk from broken glass, nails, etc.

Thought the tyres seemed a bit harsh at first but within 20 mins couldnt tell the difference. Decent in the wet and the peace of mind knowing they wont puncture. Commuted 12 months with them, no noticeable weight difference. Totally recommend.
Thank you Tannus

-s and +s
The negatives:
The tyre is at the same time, a bit harsh and a bit slow.
It also has a propensity to track and follow every gouges in the road surface.
The positives:
Great colour (Red)
Quite a lot lighter than my old tyres
After a few month of riding, a close examination revealed that these tyres have saved me at least 5 punctures! This, for me, helps me ignore all the negatives above.

I have Tannus tyres, but no punctures
I saw Tannus tyres at a cycle show at the Excel centre in London, after discussing the tyres with the people at the stand, I purchased a set at a later date. They rode very well and you can forget about punctures.
As I have more than one bike, I have Tannus tyres on the back, and ordinary tyres on the front, the combination works well,

Very strong rolling resistance which made my bike much harder work to ride, so I’m afraid I cut them off and have gone back to standard tyres with tubes.

Having no punctures is great but, you sacrifice comfort of ride. The ride is so hard that my spokes keep breaking.
Good tyres
Good tyres, gives you confidence that you can jump on your bike without the care that tyres might be flat.

A complete nightmare to fit them
A complete nightmare to fit them. I used the supplied tool and measure the rim with a micrometer The videos make it look easy and simple. It isn't. It takes a lot of effort to force them in. I had to fit them myself as the nearest fitting place to me was 200 miles away.
In use they are definitely puncture proof. However I lost about 2-3mph compared to my Schwalbes.
So barring accidents they will get you where you want to go but boy you'll get there a lot slower.
I've sold the wheels plus the tyres and made a huge loss. I won't be buying again. Ever.
