Everyone we speak to is professional

Originally, I had requested to cancel my service due to a very poor experience with a third-party vendor, Monterey Financial Services. However, I received a call from TaxRise Client Care Representative Steve Malo, and that completely changed my perspective. He took the time to truly listen to my concerns, and I genuinely felt heard. His professionalism, empathy, and outstanding customer service are the reasons I am now reconsidering my decision and thinking about staying with TaxRise. Steve is exceptional, and if this call was recorded, it absolutely should be used as a training example for both new and current employees.

The initial contact,Karl, was intelligent and friendly . I felt I could work with this company. The Case Mansger was frustrated with me as I have recently had serious surgery and on pain med so I wasn’t as sharp as I usually am and I had difficulty with uploading documents.

Contacting Tax Rise to resolve my debt with the IRS was the worst mistake I've ever made. Besides charging me $7,000, they failed to resolve any of the $24,000 I owe the IRS. Now I owe $31,000. Thanks, Tax Rise, you're a scam.

They have been very professional and courteous and so far from what i see there doing a great job .Im very pleased not done yet so when were done if im still this happy ill give them great reviews on Google and the BBB .

Very professional and respectful I would recommend them to everyone.

These people are lying pos. I owed $26k to the IRS. After I paid them 7k they got $800 dollars deducted. I work for a union hall out of KY and I preach do not use this company. Don’t waste your time or money. Burn in hell TaxRise! Trash

I spoke with Sam and he was very helpful with my questions. He answered them clearly to better help me understand.

If I could offer 0 stars, that would be the most accurate rating. My experience with TaxRise is by far the worse and most frustrating customer experience I have ever had. Here are just a few details:

They claim they resolved my IRS overdue tax issues favorably and saved me money. Not true. The letter of resolution indicating the amount I owe the IRS is actually more than the IRS says I owe. Doesn't sound like a favorable resolution.

They "negotiated" a payment plan to handle my IRS debt and neglected to notify me about the details of the plan (due date each month, amount due) until after the plan start date --- letter of resolution dated July 1, 2025 and received by me via email after that date with a payment plan start date of June 15, 2025. When notified about the payment plan, I was already in default of a plan that I was not aware of.

I tried to follow-up with TaxRise about the discrepancie regarding the amount owed and the failure to notify me about the payment plan in a timely manner; however, when I reached to the individual from TaxRise who sent me the "resolution", I received no response (going on 5 months of failure to respond). Furthermore, I cannot log-in to my TaxRise account due to "invalid credentials" and a request to reset my password through a one-time code is unavailable.

Essentially, I am locked out of my personal information by a company that has completely screwed up my purported "tax resolution."

Dishonest and incompetent!!!!

My problems with this incompetent organization continue to be frustrating. My initial review got the company's attention and they reached out with an attempt to resolve my concerns by escalating my case to a Quality Assurance Specialist. I set up a conference call with the specialist as TaxRise requested. Was I surprised when I called at the appointed time and he was not available???? Hardly. Additionally, it took me 3 calls, 2 transfers, and 20+ minutes on hold to finally reach SOMEONE who was no help. Eventually, this specialist called me back and explained that he had not been advised of the appointment I booked for the conference call. Seriously???!!!! I couldn't contrive this level of incompetency if I tried.
That conference call took place on December 15, 2025. I expressed my frustration and lack of follow-through and resolution of the items I mentioned in my first review. Guess what came next - the profuse apology to investigate the multiple missteps in my "resolution" case and a plan to correct the errors. Here we are 1 month later and I HAVE NOT HEARD ONE SINGLE THING FROM ANYONE AT TAXRISE! I have done my own investigating directly with the IRS to confirm my payments against my payment arrangement are being applied. TaxRise has done nothing for me! Because of their incompetency, I received a notice of intent to place a lien on my assets because they failed to notify me about my payment arrangement and it went into default. This smells like gross negligence, dishonesty, and fraud - taking my money and completely screwing up the "resolution" process. I have no idea how a company with this level of incompetence can stay in business. If you EVER need help with tax resolution, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE TAXRISE.

Read the reviews of everyone who has had horrendous experiences with these crooks. When you submit a negative review, somebody from the company rushes to tell you how sorry they are that this has happened and they are going to everything they can to resolve the situation. LIES, NOTHING BUT LIES. NOT WILLING TO FIX WHAT THEY SCREWED UP AND WON'T HELP.

Their are 3 things that stood out for me:
1 - Incredible knowledge; they know their business
2 - Professional and respectful of the needs of clients
3 - Patience (especially for me)

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NICE. KNOWLEDGEABLE. AND CONCERNED FOR YOU.
Questions are answered and not diverted or read off a script!

Getting IRS notices are NO BUENO! Especially for this “artist.” My brain operates on a completely different hemisphere and my reps at TaxRise understand that - they never “talk down” to me. They are kind, they are smart and they are trustworthy. I know I’m in the right place, with the right group of brainiacs to assist me.

Needed an address, after some explanation, address was provided. This should've never been an issue honestly. If you need your client to send a form to the IRS, provide the address of where it should be sent
Problem solved.

Juan was very kind and understanding. He listened to what I was saying and repeated some of my asks and questions back to me. Juan wished me a Happy Thanksgiving & holiday season.
Juan gave excellent customer service.

He was very pleasant and tried to make sure that I understood my situation to the best of his knowledge.
