Dear Anglea, I'm sorry your refund was only a small one. We will have done a lot of work to recover this refund and £23 won't even come close to covering the cost. I'm not sure how you can give us a 1 Star review because you didn't read the terms of engagement. Regards Kerry

SHOCKING!! OVER 8 WEEKS AND NO MONEY AND NO CONTACT!!!!

I received a letter from HMRC over 8 weeks ago advising I was owed money. I have since heard nothing from Tax Tree, it seems they like to hold onto my money as long as possible. I have tried calling and their phones are constantly down, emailed 7 times without a single reply. Absolutely SHOCKING!!!! I need someone to come back to me with the money I am owed ASAP!!!!!

EDIT: This is exactly the case and as you have put it i haven't received a reply to my emails from any of your colleagues. You have admitted you have had my money since November 9th. We are now on December 1st. Why haven't you chased me for information? Why haven't you been in contact for the last 23 days since the cheque arrived with you? Seems to me you only reply once a bad review is placed on here.
As you have advised me the cheque is in your possession, I will send over the letter from HMRC which should have been requested from me weeks ago and I expect my cheque to be issued and sent tomorrow 2nd December.

Dear Paul, I'm really sorry if this is the case. It never takes this long to process a claim so there must be something amiss. Can you please forward your postcode to info@taxtree.co.uk and mark it for the urgent attention of Kerry. I'm not in the office tomorrow, but if you send it over, I might get chance to look at this over the weekend. Thanks Kerry

HMRC refunds take longer than 14 days

I have read the reviews about tax tree and all I can say is that some people are not the sharpest tool in the shed. Firstly of course there is going to be fee, why in the world would anyone think there want one? Makes no sense at all. If you didn’t bother to read the paperwork sent them isn’t that your problem and not theirs? Secondly If you have ever received money back from HMRC directly (I have on two occasions, when I got new jobs) it took up to 6 weeks for the money to come to me, that’s right 6 weeks not 14 days and that was to me directly and not through a third party. So basically the letter I got from HMRC saying Tax Tree will have my cheque in 14 days is utter codwallop!

I spoke to someone at tax tree via email (answered in less than 2 days! I have never had an answer from a company that fast) and was informed in great detail (I mean there was a lot of details I was actually pretty shocked) about what happens when they receive my payment from HMRC and how long it can take to get to me. And I admit the wait is a little annoying but i would never of bothered to look into the tax myself so any extra money is fine with me.

Same as everyone else on here

Same as everyone else on here, Tax tree have fraudulently obtained my personal details and have fraudulently claimed a tax refund on my behalf. I have never heard of this shady lot before now and, surprise surprise, when I try to find out who they are, their website is having technical difficulties.

Reading through the many many reviews it would appear that Kerry is dealing with everything but, doing absolutely nothing!! She even has the audacity to tell one person that “threats of court action really aren’t necessary”!!

Well Kerry dear, they are necessary as your company is committing fraud on a massive scale at a time when ordinary working folk are suffering financial hardship, shame on you and those involved.

To put it simply, your company is stealing from people (and myself) and I for one, will not be letting this pass.

If you (Tax Tree or Kerry) feel that my review is uncalled for or unfair in any way, please feel to reply!!!

Dear Mr Christie,
Thank you for your review. Firstly Mr Christie, I am not your "dear". If you would like me to resolve an issue for you then please address me on
a professional level.

For “Clarity of Purpose”, I would like to explain the purpose for which you engaged Tax Tree’s services. Many people are unaware that they are due a tax refund, and most of these refunds are historic and do not get refunded automatically. If the deadline of 4 years has passed, you can no longer claim these refunds, without a great deal of work. We offer a service which can and does, uncover refunds for thousands of customers over the last 4 years. These are predominantly on PPI Tax Refunds, but there are many others including tax which has wrongly been deducted from you, but NOT yet refunded.
Our Terms of Engagement are available for all our customers to view prior to signing for us to act on your behalf – whether that is by e-signature (electronically), or a hard copy. Some customers claim that they have never signed these documents and that the claim is fraudulent. And in each case then recall signing up when provided with the signed documents, and an electronic log of how and where signatures have been obtained.
Tax Tree work very hard to get these OUSTANDING refunds back for our customers, but unfortunately we have no control over the postal system or HMRC which can cause delays. We have thousands of delighted customers who don’t write on Trust Pilot who were glad of the service we offer and the additional money they now have.
We also offer a no win, no fee service, which subsequently means we do a lot of work for a lot of customers without any financial benefit to the company.
If your refund is successful, HMRC will write to you and advise they are sending the cheque to Tax Tree within 14 days. This can actually take up to 5/6 weeks. If you have received a letter it will speed the process of your refund up if you email it to info@taxtree.co.uk, with your post code.
For “Clarity of Purpose” this is the service we offer. I would therefore ask you to reassess your review, and if I haven’t answered your query in the text above, then please email info@taxtree.co.uk
Thank you and Kind Regards – Tax Tree Team

Was told by HMRC my refund was sent 8 weeks ago and received nothing at all. Very poor service and going from the reviews I’m not alone. If your company is this bad why not try to do better? Have emailed twice they have had my money for weeks so have zero reason to keep holding onto it. Will be raising this with HMRC as this appears to be a fraudulent company. It’s my tax not theirs I didn’t agree for the payment to be made direct to tax tree and the admin fee is plain ridiculous for lower refunds! Feel like I’ve been conned.

Where's my cheque please

Had a letter a month ago from hmrc saying I'm owed a £620 refund which they sent to tax tree . I then received an email from tax tree asking to confirm my name so they can issue the cheque. Since then I've heard nothing and no ones answering my emails on when I can expect the cheque. Even with their fees taken off its money I could do with now, but reading these reviews I'm not holding out much hope. Shocking they can get away with this.

Update review 23/11 . Have had an email stating that my cheque was received by tax tree on 11/11 and being processed and will aim to be sent to me within 4 weeks of that date. I look forward to hopefully receiving it soon
Further update 30/11 , have had email from kerry who has asked me to send info from hmrc to speed up the process of the cheque, which I have done and will hopefully receive it soon

Refund from HMRC not passed on by Tax Tree.

I was advised by HMRC some time ago that I was due a tax refund, and they had sent the payment to Tax Tree. I have not heard anything from Tax Tree. This appears to be common with people dealing with Tax Tree. How can I get them to refund me?
