If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is a joke and I can't belive HMRC is using them.
HMRC sent my mother a letter in June 2023 to say she was owed tax and this was being processed by tax tree. She still hasn't received it even after numerous emails to tax tree. They even went as far as saying they have already paid it. They haven't but have paid out for a PPI refund which was a separate matter. Even after pointing this out to them they still haven't responded to any emails and the phone lines aren't fit for purpose (nor the people who eventually answer the phone) so here we are 7 months later and my mother is no closer to getting her refund, all I can think is that tax tree must be holding the money and earing the interest on it as they don't seem to want to actually give it to the person intended

I am not sure why HMRC are even allowing tax tree to submit claims. We had a letter 2 months ago to say a cheque had been sent to them for my mother in law who has not given permission for "tax tree" to act on her behalf and she does not use the internet!

The cheque was sent to tax tree two months ago by HMRC and my MIL has not seen a penny. She has not signed anything to give them permission and she doesn’t use the internet!

Please don’t tell me to email , I already have weeks ago and don’t tell me you reply in 3-5 business working days because you don’t.
Now please send me the details to make an official complaint and also you Complaints Policy Procedure as previously requested and ignored by you!

I have contacted Tax Tree by email after their ‘generic’ response which did not answer my query, over 10 days ago and still no response.
I have requested my cheque and I’ve also requested for their Complaints Procedure and to make a Complaint.
The ‘signed document’ is a signature that has been copied and pasted and they even admitted they put the date in themselves on the form.
‘Staff’ who responds to the tickets - please send me your Complaints Policy and Procedure with the details of who to make my complaint to. If this is not received I will be taking my complaint to Trading Standards!

First off beware of these people, they will rip you off! I happened to check my personal tax return and found that i had overpaid tax for the last two financial years. The money owed by HMRC was sent to the Tax Tree. I hadnt signed up for this and never heard of them. I contacted them to inform them of this and then magically they said i had been successful in my claim and my refund would be paid. This is after 8 months of nothing! They only replied bacuase i chased them! They then sent me a cheque (eventually after weeks of asking MINUS 37% and VAT at 20% so overall they took 57%.

I hadnt authorised them to do this for me and they said they had a signed document but what they did show me was not my signature and also looked as though it was cobbled together from different documents.

I have complained to the Fiancial Services Ombudsmen, and Action Fraud. You cant phone them, and only correspond via email.

Please stay away from these people. They will rip you off and dont care about what they do!

Well it is clearly evident that you do not read your emails which you have told me to use because I have sent you numerous email to no avail. just admit it you are scammers

After numerous attempts to contact TAX TREE to no avail they leave me no choice I am going to write to the Ombudsman

You are a disgrace you don't answer the phone, you don't reply to emails I even contacted you via Royal Mail and you did not respond to that.

Total scam artist's I applied for my tax rebate having seen an advertisement myself I then got a letter from the inland revenue stating my cheque for £294 would be issued within 14 days after a month I contacted the inland revenue only to be told they had sent my cheque to a company called tax tree I contacted them it took them just over a month to issue me a cheque for £157.25 I contacted them via email as the phone number they advertised is no good to speak to a person asking who gave them permission to hold 50% of my tax rebate the replied stating I authorised them with the wrong National insurance number part of my name was wrong and a signature that wasn't mine all they could tell me was that I use an android phone which they could easily tell from my correspondence I had just sent I have repeatedly asked them to return my money 2 and a half months in they are still holding on to roughly a £140 of my money and they refuse to respond to my messages so that if they continue to hold my money I could raise a court action against them I am a retired Military police officer who is more than capable of applying for my own tax rebate yet these scam artist's somehow got there hands on my money and refuse to respond to my requests to return my money if anyone is thinking of using them don't they seem to be a scam company set up to steal the general publics money here today and gone tomorrow I have supplied them with my phone number and asked that someone call me on several occasions but nothing but a duff signature a wrong NI number and part of my name the only thing that they could tell me that is factually correct is I use an android phone stay well clear I didn't have a choice and I Don't have a clue how they high jacket my insurance rebate but they did and don't look like they will do the right thing and return my money who in their right mind would commission this company to take just under 50% of a tax rebate that you can claim yourself in 30 minutes!!!!!!!!!!! My goodness I have just seen the other reviews on here about this fraudulent company how do they get away with this I got just under £150 stolen which is a lot now that I can't work due to service to this country I am going back on to HMRC om Monday if you average £150 buy the countless bad reviews they are stealing thousands and thousands of pounds off of people the government have to close this company down stealing from a veteran who almost gave his life protecting this country and it's citizens is disgusting I am sick to the stomach looking at what everyone else has said I don't think they will do the right thing they don't care about robbing the vulnerable in society!!!!!!!! They have now answered about 2 month's after this post telling me to contact them again so they can get me going back around the houses notice how they don't respond on here!!!!!!!! Do you think I haven't already tried that the reason I took to Trustpilot is because you had me going round the houses with no real answer to my questions you had a wrong NI number for me a signature that wasn't mine and you stole my money!!!!! I have already done so I came on here because you keep going around the houses you supplied the wrong NI number for me a signature that's not mine and you still have my money you stole good god look at how many negative reviews you have on Trustpilot it's not just Mr you have robbed in one review the person took the time to find the person who runs the company stopped trading then registered as a limited company what does that tell you to me it screams of fraud and the individual doesn't want any liability once you get caught by the authorities so why not give me back my money you have stolen and I can advise everyone on here you have done the right thing I won't hold my breath though!!

Was informed by HMRC that I had a tax refund when I contacted HMRC about not receiving a cheque they confirmed had been paid to taxtree.co.uk I contacted taxtree.co.uk and they confirmed they had received my cheque from HMRC and would process and send me a cheque minus their fees. I am still waiting and have not been able to get any further contact from them despite sending emails as advised. It's not a huge amount but is not their money and I take it from the reviews here they have kept an awful lot of money belonging to others and no doubt have stolen a lot of money absolutely disgusting company who should be forbidden to practice.

Fraud. Claimed a rebate in my name. I have zero communications about it. HMRC paid Tax Tree Ltd (which is dissolved). Now trading as Fast Finance with a sole company director, Belinda Wright.

I have raised this with HMRC and have logged this with Action Faud

My mum found a letter that said she was being refunded tax from HMRC at the time her husband died and she forgot about it and at the time she has now been told the money was refunded to a company called Taxtree but has never received any money ? I need someone to contact her to discuss

I was informed by hmrc that I was owed a refund,on ringing 4 weeks later they said they had sent it to this tax tree company which I had never heard of & they gave me their contact number it’s never answered! I will be reporting this as fraud!!!!

After receiving a "reply" on this subject from "Tax tree" informing me that I should contact the "helpful customer service team"

11 days later I am still waiting for them to reply or even just acknowledge my contact! Needless to say I have STILL NOT BEEN PAID MY MONEY!!!!!

I have now received a cheque from Tax Tree - but only after requesting "talking" to someone! I DID get a phone call from a very helpful lady - who appears to have sorted this out for me - although I have been charged almost 50% commission - I guess I will put it down to "one of those things"? However DO - get all 3rd party names OFF your HMRC records - simply by phoning HMRC and requesting it - to prevent further issues. I was informed that the info received by TT was forwarded from a PPI claim company I used 2 years ago - maybe TT are acting in good faith - I don't know, but the communication is terrible.

Awful company. They asked me if they could process my refund. I didn't sign anything to authorise them yet I got an email from HMRC saying my refund had been sent to tax tree. After several months I asked them yet again for my money. Have just received a cheque for a few pounds as apparently they charge a minimum of £50... Funny how that was never mentioned when they were sending out several emails a week asking to deal with my case. I felt bullied into having anything to do with them at all.
If you're thinking of using this company all I can say is DON'T. They will do anything they can to pressure you into doing business with them then drop you as soon as they have your money.

I have just contacted HMRC as my tax refund cheque had not come through. Apparently Tax Tree have my money.
I looked through my emails, found them in my junk folder. They emailed me to say £29.99 came to them from HMRC, but they were keeping it as they charge £50! However, I was refunded just short of £200, so they have lied, as HMRC have said Tac Tree have had my cheque.
I didn’t sign up to them in the first place, so how did they do this? I’ve asked for evidence of my authorisation, with my signature.
I will take this to the financial ombudsmen if this matter is not dealt with properly.

Complete scam. Tax Tree have taken 100% of my tax refund due and have sent me nothing. Aside from the fact they have been allowed to essentially rob me of my hard earned money how have they sent me nothing despite numerous calls? Avoid at all costs

Tax Tree's data protection registration number ZA327482 is not on the ICO database as of 20.10.23.
Since i have reported a data Breach to HMRC, the statement of this Tax tree ICO registration number has been removed from their website
Fast Finance Solutions, the parent company do have a valid ICO certificate but at a different 3 year old address. They have replied to my data subject access request so hopefully i will find out how a company i have never heard of, or has never been in touch obtained a £800+ refund sent directly to them without my knowledge. Hopefully HMRC will cease dealing with this company. But they will just trade under another name as they have done 4 times according to the ICO website. I hope i have provided enough proof not to trust this company with your personal information. I will update my review when i receive a reply from them and HMRC.

I received a letter from HMRC to tell me I have a tax refund, but they sent it to Tax Tree..?? Firstly I have never heard of this company, so I don’t know why the refund was even sent to them. Secondly I was informed of this refund in July (2023)!!

No why should I email you? You should be sending me an email! Or is it because you don’t have my email address?? Please just send me my money, you obtain via HMRC, without my permission..
I’ve now had a request, from Tax Tree, requesting I give my claim ID… I would if I had asked them to make a claim on my behalf!

I have emailed Taxtree twice in the last month to the HELP email address that they seem to be giving out to people but no one has come back to me (reading other reviews I’m not surprised). They have a tax refund for me so you would think that they would be in touch.

I was told my Hmrc I was due a refund of £565 so I checked my online account and this was correct . I asked how they were paying me and they said they were paying my agent “Tax Tree” so I said I don’t have an agent and nor do I need one. Apparently I signed a form in August 2023, unfortunately for Tax Tree I had changed my name by deed poll so my name on the form is not the name on my tax account, (Hmrc obviously didn’t check), but as they haven’t issued my cheque yet, Hmrc are cancelling the cheque and making it payable to me instead. I’m so lucky I caught it in time otherwise these scamming rats would have had my money. Be careful when getting a tax refund and call Hmrc immediately to make sure they’re paying you and not these fraudsters.
I have reported to action fraud but I doubt this will go anywhere as I’ve seen other people have reported them for months

I received a message from HMRC on 18th June stating I was owed a refund and my cheque would be sent to Tax Tree within 14 days. I have not received any money so far, and the reviews I am reading about this company are very concerning. Will I ever get MY money??
