I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, but my experience has been a positive one. I signed up to tax tree, after receiving an email from claimeazy, who dealt with my ppi claims. I knew what percentage tax tree would claim, as I read the t’s and c’s. I was happy with this, as I wouldn’t have had a clue where to start and it was money I wasn’t expecting. I started my claim in November, received a letter from HMRC in early February and received my cheque this morning, just a few days after an email from tax tree, informing me of the successful claim.
Thank you Tax Tree for a stress free, positive experience!

What a scam, again I received a letter from Hmrc on 22 November 22. Phoned Hmrc last week and the said tax tree had claimed and I’d signed a document. I have never Heard of them let alone signed anything. Tried phoning and can’t get through. Please people don’t use these people. I’m going to report them to the ombudsman and Hmrc!!

After getting a letter from hmrc about tax back , I never received only to call hmrc and they told me tax tree had got it??? I’ve never heard of them and surely they can’t just take your refund!! Sent numerous emails and they don’t respond, tried to call on phone but most options it tells you to email them what a joke, I pressed to make a payment hoping that would get me through to someone but no I keep getting cut off!! The company is a joke and customer service is non existent, if you are thinking of using tax tree DO NOT

Wife recieved a letter this morning claiming to be from HMRC detailing that these conmen have falsley made a claim in her name for a small ammount of money neither of us have ever heard of them, I expect we will soon hear that their directors and staff have been arrested and jailed, they are thieves, if you can't work it out from the comments, contact HMRC directly from a reliable source.
I have since my original review done a significant ammount of research it seems Tax Tree is a trading name of Fast Finance Solutions Ltd, never heard of them, you won't have, they have never traded until the end of 2022, a dormant company for year after year, they are defrauding the tax office, by using I assuming purchased details representing them as a valid authorisation from you and then making claims without your knowledge for a tax refund, however large or small, if you don't see the letter from the tax man you would never know.
Belinda Wright is the Sole Director of both Fast Finance Solutions and Chandler Simmonds Legal, also a dormant company started at the end of 2021, you can check this all using companies house for free.
She has the companies registered on comapnies house under the names Wright Belinda and Belinda Wright, same address in Winsford, but one with a february date of birth, one with a May date of birth.
The firm is making claims without your conset and then demanding 45% of the pay out if you ever find out about it at all.
The tax office staff will say you must have clicked something years ago so it's legal but in this case you didn't they were a dormant company.
Fast Finance filed its first accounts suddelnly showing £150,000 balance having never had a balance previously at the end of last year.
I won't suggest why you would start this all up behind peoples backs without their consent using two different all be it close but different identites but it's clearly fraud.
They rely on you accpeting when you complain to hmrc you may have given consent for PPI and then using it again without your knowledge now in some cases this might have happened but you can't possibly have signed up for a scheme like this with a company when it was dormant.
Their edge you're now tied into giving them a 45% cut or getting nothing, so you have to pay them for comitting fraud for you or you get nothing and looking at comments you will get nothing anyway.
Do complain to HMRC, Action Fraud and Winsford Police directly who can get the directors details and pop round themselves.
I received a letter from HMRC in October to say they had forwarded my cheque to Taxtree. It is now 8th March and I have still not had any correspondance from your company. I spoke to HMRC yesterday and they confirmed it was sent to you in September 22. They also said they had a signature on a form from me to give you authority to investigate! I have signed no such form. You are a complete fraud! I have requested a copy of the form from HMRC which when I receive I will take you to court for fraud!

Tax Tree have had my refund since November 22, no correspondence from them, you cannot get through to speak to anyone on the phone, they don’t reply to emails. These people are taking our money and fraudulently keeping it for themselves. Scandalous

It has taken 3 months since i emailed them to say the inland revenue has sent them the cheque, arrived to find they had taken 45% of the monies due. Rip off Never Again. My advice is do it yourself

Every time I have had a tax rebate I've done it on line but this time tax tree are involved ..I have not even been chasing any tax ...they will not show me how I meant to have sign up with them and now I can't get my rebate that I need to buy food .
I don't want alot, I want them to get out from my life and stop taking money which honest people rely on esp at the moment when times are hard.
Why would I want them to chase a claim I don't even had ?it makes no sense.

I received a hmrc letter on 4th January saying the refund cheque would be sent to tax tree i emailed them with the copy of the letter on 7th February but they said nothing was on the system. I emailed them again twice last week and they haven't even got the decency to reply. I will be contacting the financial ombudsman if i do not get a reply this week. Hmrc have told me the cheque was sent to them on 5th January. UPDATE. Thank you for messaging me back but i have had no emails from you last week at all, the only email i received from you was the one stating i was not on the system. Please can you email or phone me with an update ASAP. UPDATE 11/03/2023 I recieved my cheque today thankyou.

I asked that Tax Tree stop acting on my behalf last year. Lo and behold my tax refund is going to them again, is under £50 and I won't see any of it. Have emailed again so fingers crossed for next year...

Where's my rebate been waiting since November?

I received a letter from HMRC early January stating that they had sent a cheque to TaxTree for my refund, as it appears so many other people have. Have rang them several times and i have done as requested and sent a copy of the HMRC letter.I have e'mailed them 3 times but no one from this company has the common decency to reply or acknowledge my e'mails.Surely this company should be regulated as other Financial Institutions are and the Ombudsman should step in and put a halt to the H,M,R,C, from sending out refunds to them. H.M.R.C. should refund the overpayments to the person owed and let Tax Tree claim their exhorbitant fee from them.I bet that if they did they would be in contact within days and not as it appears from the many reviews in months or not at all.

Never heard of this company and have never authorised them to work on my behalf. Yet I have received an invoice for their services!! How have they gained access to my government gateway account? I have been doing my self-assessment tax returns for years and don't understand how this company have managed to gain access to my account. It makes me wonder if this invoice is fraudulent as they have sent it to an old mailing address and not that of my HMRC account. Gutted to be asked for 45% of my tax return when I haven't appointed these people's services!

Received the same letter from HMRC regarding a tax refund and that a cheque was issued to Tax Tree for an amount. Tax tree doesn't respond to emails and the phone rings out. No idea who this company is and HMRC couldn't care less. Even if you did overpay tax its more than likely lost now.

Following completing my tax return I received letter from HMRC stating I had a new message on my account.
On looking at this message, the rebate I had claimed by myself and requested be deposited directly into my account was to be sent Tax Tree Ltd, I've never heard of this company!
I contacted HMRC and had them removed from my account but they could not help with the money stolen as it had been sent to these people and It is up to me to try and find it.
Tried calling the number provided by tax tree and no surprise the call cuts off at every option.
I can only assume it will be a small claims court resolution. Money I can not afford to lose.
Gutted I have fallen prey to such a shyster company.
**UPDATE It is now 3 months later and not a single penny has been paid to me of the money claimed, despite the replies & promises from Kerry
