The final step left much to be desired

I recently worked with the team at Taylor & Hart to design and purchase an engagement ring for my partner. Overall, the experience was quite positive. The customer service team was excellent, making the design process quick, easy, and straightforward. I felt well-supported throughout, and the ring turned out beautifully, even when I asked for a change to the design.

However, my experience took a disappointing turn on the day of collection. After spending a significant amount of money—one of the largest amounts I've spent in one transaction—the collection process felt rushed and impersonal. Upon arrival, I was welcomed into what appeared to be their kitchen, with no greeting, as staff members went about their lunch. This left me feeling immensely awkward and deflated before the collection had even begun, which was a shame given the significance and excitement I had originally had considering the day.

I was then sat down in the foyer area next to the staff kitchen, which lacked privacy, intimacy, or any special touch. No drink was offered, or discussions about how my process has gone up to then. The whole interaction lasted no more than two minutes. I was shown the ring with a brief "Do you like it?" Explanation on the returns, servicing and alteration process and that was that. There were no introductions, no walk-around, no congratulations—nothing to make the moment special.

While the ring itself and the initial service were commendable, the final step left much to be desired. A little more attention to making the collection process feel special and celebratory would have made a world of difference. While for you this may be one of many collections, to some this is a very special day that they’ll remember for a long time.

Flawless experience all round

Great communication and a welcoming and professional visit. Kate helped me find the best version of the ring I wanted for the best price. I was notified of delivery well in advance and it arrived exactly when predicted.

I am very impressed with Taylor &…

I am very impressed with Taylor & Hart’s products - my purchase was a new wedding ring to mark my 50th anniversary. It arrived as described and I’m very happy with it. In terms of potential for improvement my only suggestion is to make the process of paying your local duties and taxes (if applicable) a little more streamlined. I was not advised by the shipping company what was required to be paid until I called them asking about the delay. Lesson learned, I’ll know what to do next time!

Really bad customer service

The rings offered by Taylor & Hart are lovely but I am sad to say it's one of the worst customer service experience I've received in my life.

Both my engagement ring and wedding band are from Taylor & Hart and I found that every query from resizing to purchasing my wedding band has been made difficult. Every time you email their customer service team a different person replies, even if it is on the same email thread. I found this causes further confusion, forcing me to explain the issue over and over again and I have also been advised different outcomes.

The worst experience for me has been the purchase of my wedding band. Me and my fiancé went to try out wedding bands in December and the initial process was rather straight forward, as I knew I wanted the exact same band as used for my engagement ring. They did not have the exact ring to try in the showroom and as my fingers are very small all the rings were to big for me, making it difficult to see how they would sit next to my engagement ring. I wasn't worried about this initially and was ensure that wedding band as ordered would sit flushed against my engagement ring.

We ordered the rings but when received I noticed straight away that the wedding band was much thicker than the band of my engagement ring, making it hit the prongs of my engagement ring and creating a large gap between the rings. I contacted the customer service team about it, which started a long thread of back and forth with several different people and I had to come in on multiple occasions to 'investigate'. In the end, they told me that since my engagement ring was bought they had updated their standard depth of the ring as they received a lot of rings back bent. As a matter of fact it turned out my engagement ring actually had this issue as well where it had formed around the shape of my finger, so wasn't perfectly round.

I was offered to remake my engagement ring to match the depth of the wedding band, which I was advised would solve the issue of the rings sitting flushed together. I was happy with this solution, however, after receiving the ring back I found they are still not sitting perfectly flushed together which is the look I wanted. I have emailed Taylor & Hart back about this, but they are now just ignoring my emails.

I am very disappointed with the service I received and I feel like they haven't really advised me correctly from the start. My frustration is added to by the fact that they tried to ship my engagement ring back to me by post although I specifically asked to collect it in person, and that they gave me back my rings in a pouch after I had left it in with the ring box and I had to ask to get the box back. This has happened to one of my friends as well who also have a Taylor & Hart engagement ring that needed repaired as her diamond fell out, so I feel like this is really unacceptable.

After all of this I wouldn't recommend Taylor & Hart to anyone and if I had the choice, I would have purchased my rings elsewhere.

I did very much enjoy the initial…

I did very much enjoy the initial consultation which led to the purchase of the ring with no problems at the time.

I noticed I received an email inviting me to review very early after I got the ring. This is a bit of a red Flag as i work in CS (Customer Services) myself and find this to be because the company maybe be anxious about customer satisfaction with their organisaiton.

The stone fell loose from the ring very close after my engagement so thankfully we were showing it off for about two weeks before this happened.

This is not something i find acceptable and is directly in my view to do with craftmanship. As most people know, my purchase for my fiancée from this jeweler is one of the most important purchases a man or couple or anyone can make. full stop.

I'd love to tell you this was great, but I must say that this is in the top half of a google search for a reason and that the reputation is doctored by this company and you should avoid this jeweler at all costs.

Please avoid.

Eloise Moreby was incredibly helpful and attentive. Helped find exactly what I was after and always replied quickly to make the process of purchasing a ring stress free and easy. Would definitely recommend taylor and hart, but especially Eloise for all of her help.

Expert advice, beautiful rings

I've bought my partner's engagement ring and both of our wedding bands through Taylor & Hart. Mark Rochford was super helpful throughout and otther members of the team have been very responsive to help with resizing - not to mention that the selection of rings is stunning!

Would definitely recommend Taylor & Hart to anyone looking for a brilliant, ethically sourced ring!

Excellent customer service and beautiful rings

Ordered both our engagement ring and wedding rings from Taylor and Hart. Excellent customer service, and fantastic non-pushy advice. Accommodated and assisted us every step of the way, as us living outside of the UK added complications. My partner's engagement ring is complimented by strangers and friends all the time.

Relaxed and professional

My consultation with Emily was smooth and pleasant. She took into account my budget, the style of ring I was after and was so helpful in helping me select the diamond I wanted, as well as guiding me through clarity and colour. Couldn’t ask for a better experience buying my engagement ring and would highly recommend to anyone else thinking of popping the question!

Expert advice and a beautiful ring

I would happily recommend Taylor & Hart to anyone looking for an engagement ring.
The consultation process with Emily was brilliant and felt tailored to me.
She explained all the options for customisation, showed samples of many different styles of ring and explained in detail how to pick the best suited diamond.
Emily was always very informative and happy to answer all the questions I had on diamond characteristics.
The ring arrived on time and my fiancé couldn't be happier with it.

Excellent service and experience!!

I would recommend Taylor & Hart to anybody! My consultant Florencia was extremely helpful, professional and friendly and made the whole experience a lot less daunting in my search for an engagement ring. The after care service that they provide is also fantastic. 10/10 service!!
