I bought a vehicle from a dealer which had an AA inspection report but the inspection missed several things on the checklist and even passed the dpf filter, even though such a filter did not exist on this petrol car!
I complained to the AA about this and all they have done is refer it back to the dealer and wash their hands of it because there wasn’t actually any fault with the vehicle. In some ways that is fair enough, but I was shocked at the poor standard of the report and felt the AA should take responsibility for something which has got their name on it.

Today 05/09/25 I received the final payment from the car dealer/debtor which he has reluctantly been paying me an outstanding amount in instalments over the past 9-months for an unsafe car purchased last October. The AA cars team lead by Hayley has been outstanding with her perseverance in mediation with the debtor to get my money back with the debtor's mountain of lies and excuses to contend with on a daily basis. Well done Hayley you deserve a medal....

Communication between myself and the garage had come to a standstill and this is where the AA stepped into mediate. I was kept informed, by regular phone calls and emails, as to the status of the situation. Communication was open again with the AA helping me to navigate through this difficult situation. I can’t thank AA enough for the support to get things moving forward again with the garage and relieving me of some of the stress. Although my case has now been closed I have been told that if there are any further issues they will indeed step in and help! I definitely felt listened to and appreciated being treated with respect and kindness.

Grace was really helpful and communicated with the dealership well at every stage over my complaint with them. When the agreement was broken with them she ensured they were compliant and chased up what was agreed through mediation immediately.

I bought a car from this seller AA Cars , and my experience was terrible. The car broke down almost immediately, and the seller completely ignored me. He promised repairs would cost only a few hundred pounds, but in reality they came to nearly £2,000. Even the car doors stopped working after just a few days, and I had to replace the locks.
The seller did not provide proper documents, did not inform the DVLA, misrepresented the mileage, and failed to give me a proper sales contract. When I tried to contact him, he blocked me and refused all communication. While he was polite to my son, he ignored me as a woman – I felt discrimination and disrespect in the way he treated me.
This seller is based in Keighley, Yorkshire, and has many cars listed online. In my experience, he is dishonest, unreliable, and not to be trusted. I strongly warn others to stay away from this seller.

Made contact via email to have breakdown cover activated, I had a reply within a few minutes and after supplying my information an activation link, took less than 10 minutes in total. Very impressed, well done Abbie 👏

Bought a Van and had AA do the inspection as I lived too far away to visit.
The inspector missed the fact the back doors had two screws sticking through then that had been painted white and also that the back door didn't shut properly. I have emailed then on the 8th August and again on the 12th August and am yet to receive a reply. There is more which has been missed but these are the two major peices.
Do not pay for their inspections not worth it at all.
2 days post AA reply below they still haven't emailed even after I gave them my details.
