The AA have been amazing mediating with the garage for me and consistently kept me updated with progress.
I wouldnt buy a car 2nd hand car again without knowing its AA approved garage as the level of customer support they have provided outstanding.
Big thank you to Hayley and verity who dealt with the case as they did everything they could to help and always happy to speak to on the phone and email.
If it wasn’t for them I think I would still be waiting on reply’s from the garage.

I got a car from an AA-approved dealer and paid for the warranty for peace of mind. I have never received the paperwork for the warranty. I contacted them multiple times, but they ignored my calls and blocked our number.
One month later, the car started smoking, so we had it serviced (oil, oil filter, and air filter).
Four months later, we took it to a local mechanic to have a look. It turned out the engine needed replacing. I have only driven it less than 2,000 miles and I'm down $£3,100$. I tried to contact AA Cars, who approve all the dealers, but they never responded to me. The lesson here is to never buy a car with AA approval.

It was the 27th of July 2025, and I called the AA services before 9pm, I was in a different city to the one I reside in, and they said the response time was 1 hour and 20 minutes, they had outsourced the job to a local garage in Derby called Richford Motors, after waiting the promised time, I rang again, but I was told that they will be 10 minutes. 10 minutes ensued, and there was no sign of any help arriving. We phoned AA numerous times, as well as Richford Motors, and they kept promising that they were on their way. At one point the call handler blatantly lied, and said the patrol was on their way and refueling their vehicle and yeat again promised they were 10 minutes away. No response arrived. By 3am, 6 hours after I called and 5 hours after they promised arrival, bearing in mind I was away from home, I had to call my son from Birmingham to come and collect me. The experience has left such a negative impact on me. Its not the service that I expected from such a renowned company, and it left me quite shocked, to be completely honest. I would recommend they look at their system, and respond to people with more haste. They shouldn't outsourced their work to companies that are not reliable.

I bought a car from dealer who is 200 miles away from my home. I find out lot of problems in the car just next day and trader refused to pay for repairs after couple of attempts. Dealer was not responding appropriately at all.
Then I contacted AA cars. Ms. Grace , officer at AA cars help me to resolve the matter. She listened all my issues very patiently. Always available if I wanted to discuss anything . . She Contacted the-dealer to resolve the matter and updated me at every step.
I cant imagine this issue would have been resolved without Ms. Grace’s involvement.
I would like to say big thank you to Ms. Grace.

I had a refund dispute with a car dealer that had been going on for weeks without progress. I contacted the AA team and was fortunate to speak with Hayley, who was incredibly professional, understanding, and efficient.

After being sold a faulty car by a dealer and getting nowhere myself, laura the AA mediator stepped in and did an excellent job and the got the problem resolved. She was excellent very professional and efficient, her responses where always very quick and she was very easy to talk to. More interested in appeasing the dealer than the customer. Took around 6-7 weeks from when I made initial complaint. Dealer had my car for around a month only changed a hose and a coolant cap. Arranged and agreed certain issues via email and these were not upheld. I gave two stars instead of one purely for there was frequent communication to myself.

What a poor company. They give the impression of a professional outfit that vets their dealer network, but when a simple issue arises pre sale they don't bother to reply to your query. Goodness knows what they'll do if you have a serious issue with one of their approved dealers or vans!
