I bought a road frameset from the Bicycle Lounge and the service was fantastic. I’d highly recommend them to anyone considering a major purchase. They definitely went above and beyond what you might expect from a bike shop.

Bought my new bike here under the C2W scheme - easily explained how it works from their staff, they were super enthusiastic - Matt even spent an hour during handover setting the bike up for me!

First class service and super knowledgeable and friendly staff.

I have been using the Bicycle Lounge for many many years -purchased numerous bikes & the service & help & knowledge is second to none.
I have purchased two high end road bikes in the last year & as usual the customer service is brilliant, any queries/issues are resolved straight away & the best road bikes you can buy are supplied by the Bicycle Lounge, would never go anywhere else.
I dont normally do reviews, but had to re-iterate how happy I always am with this bike shop. Cannot speak highly enough of Matt & his team

Massive thanks to Matt Middleton today sorting out my position on my bike and matching cleat setup like for like, on both my cycling shoes. Small changes but made a massive difference. Although mine wasn’t a full bike fit I strongly recommend getting a bike fit from Matt. 👍🏻

I’ve been dealing with Matt and the guys at the Bicycle Lounge for 10 years now and if I could give them more stars I would. A totally professional, friendly set up who have always gone above and beyond. I honestly can’t recommend them enough. My wife and I wouldn’t deal with any other bike retailer as the knowledgeable and personal service you get from these guys is second to none.

Great service from a bunch of guys that really know what they are talking about. After the experience at Bicycle Lounge they are top of my 'go to' stores for anything bike related.

Purchased Cervelo bike summer 2021. Good communication from Bicycle Lounge Team regarding delivery dates.
Matt also honoured original price quoted in 2020 even though import duties and price rises from manufacturer had added 10% to pricing.
Had bikes and serving previously, always done to high standards. Matt responds to email request usually same day. Would recommend this shop.

First of all, good choice of bikes, and when I bought mine it was ready reasonably quickly despite being ex display. Service is very good so long as you're an existing customer splashing out serious money and don't have any questions perceived as awkward.

So, caveats:

- If you haven't bought from them you go to the back of the queue. Some time ago I needed a new tyre and tube for my road bike and after being quoted, if memory serves, a two week lead time, I got what I needed from pure electric... the next morning.

- Communication could be better. I recently had my e-bike pinched, and fortunately it was recovered - I booked it in for new brake pads, as a matter of routine as my mileage is increasing with work. I also asked for a new chain. That's where the dispute starts.

- I'm no bike mechanic, and at the point of ordering the chain I was NOT advised that it is normal process to replace the cassette at the same time. I would have otherwise persevered a little longer with the old one. It still worked. I could not afford a new cassette upfront. Had I been told the extra part might be necessary I would have waited a bit so at least I could get back to work (I'm a courier).

- Unfriendly attitudes. Due to the bother I had with my bike being out of action, I needed to evidence the issue for work purposes. First of all, I just wanted a note on the receipt for the first part of the work (brakes, chain) to simply say "bike checked, safe to ride". As an independent courier working under the umbrella of an agency, it is a condition of my new role that I prove I'm looking after my work vehicle. As it had suffered a little cosmetic damage during the attempted theft, I just wanted a simple note to say all looked okay.

Second, when I was securing funds to get the bike back I called them to ask how much the chain itself cost. I needed the figure so I could expense that specific part.

On both points, I was asked "What do you need that for?"

Err well guys, I'm your CUSTOMER and simple queries shouldn't be an issue.

In summary, I'm sure they're great if you're a seasoned cyclist wanting to splash the cash on a high end bike (and probably join their cycling club) but if you're a regular consumer just looking for something mid range, they're basically a retail store with an attitude problem.

I ordered a bike online for store pick up. In between ordering and collecting, I had a huge wobble concerning the size of the bike fuelled by the Focus website size recommendations.
I arrived a day earlier than arranged (unannounced) to collect the bike, in what was heading toward something of an anxiety meltdown and not only was I reassured that the sizing was correct, but the chap I dealt with very patiently had me on the bike fit scanner, which was very generous and then the bike was set up for me.
I couldn't be more happier and even though it is a 100 mile round trip, I'll be back to spend some more money..... probably those very nice road shoes I was offered to wear for the scan.
No pressure applied. In fact, I was encouraged to take my time and be sure.

Right from the very beginning. The team and Matt were attentive and genuinely wanting to help me. This would be my dream bike and Matt made be extreamly comfortable that I had made the right decision in both the bike I chose (Enigma Escape) and buying it through the Bicycle Lounge. Thankyou for making this a fantastic experience. I not only have a bike for life but a team to support the journey.

The overall experience was 1st class.
Matt was very knowledgeable, and built me the bike I wanted.
Will definitely use Bicycle Lounge again, Highly recommended.

Went to buy a bike and the price had gone up from what I saw on there web site , said they would never have offers the bike at that price but went quiet when I showed them the bike at that price on there Facebook page
A good bike shop would have honerd the price but I think they were trying to take advantage of the lack of bikes

I recently bought a new bike from the shop and the service was brilliant. From advice on different brands, the purpose of the bikes and getting the best build for my budget all the way to the personalised fit and build the team were great. I would certainly recommend the shop to any cyclist of any level in any discipline.

I would definitely recommend The Bicycle Lounge for all your cycling needs. Matt was extremely helpful when I was looking to buy a Cervelo S5, going well beyond just selling me a bike. As I live over 150 miles away from his shop he spent a lot of time with me making sure I ended up with the right sized frame and that all the extra parts I needed would work properly, going as far as contacting Cervelo to find the best solution for a di2 set up challenge.
When I picked up the bike, Matt and his team were again excellent, taking the time to explain everything and ensuring my new bike was set up correctly.

Ive just bought my second bike from the bicycle lounge and I predict I’ll do the same for my third, when the time comes. The guys are friendly, knowledgeable and really couldn’t do more to help. Drop in and see for youself - great place.

After visiting the shop and speaking to Matt and the guys, we decided an Enigma Etape would be best suited for my riding style. Bike fit was included in the price of a the new bike. The specification was tweaked a little to get it just about perfect. Picked up the bike and it was set up perfectly, didn't even need to adjust the saddle height. Everyone at The Bicycle Lounge are passionate about bikes and offer a fantastic service. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I would fully recommend the Bicycle Lounge to anyone looking to buy a bike at any budget (and have done so in person also)... Great, relaxed and friendly service during and after purchase, with very helpful advice throughout. Matt went out of his way to help the process of buying, building and supplying the bike (Enigma Escape).
