Disgusting
This is one truly disgusting company. They have sent my 91 year old, recently widowed Dad a letter saying he will be billed £90.00. Followed by £25.00 per month. So he can take advantage of cheap holidays, that he nether asked for or wants. The letter is deliberately worded in a fashion as to look like he has already signed up to an agreement, and he will have to pay. How people can target pensioners like this is beyond me. It shows very clearly how low some people are prepared to go to get their hands on peoples money. with no concern at all for any distress their behaviour may cause. Truly disgusting behaviour.

Scammers!!!
wish I could give zero stars but cant write a review without clicking on a star. Absolutely fuming with this company who have been taking money out of my elderly mothers account without her having a clue what she is paying for! This only came to light after she showed me a renewal letter saying they will take another amount of £89.99. Apparently they have all ready had one lot of £89.99 plus a few payments of £20 over the last year. She has absolutely no recollection of ever signing or agreeing to join this club! My son rang the phone number today and although they have agreed to cancel anymore payments they refuse to refund any money already taken from Mums account.
Looking at other reviews here it is very clear that they are targeting elderly people! how these people sleep at night I dont know!! Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!

This is a Scam.
This is a Scam.
My mother-in-law bought something over the Internet from one Company. Apparently, after speaking to the Big Savings Club, this Company then sold her details, including bank details to them where they sign her up to themselves and give her 21 days to cancel before charging £89. Of course when you get things through the door like this you usually chuck them.
This is preying on the elderly.

Similar experience to the previous…
Similar experience to the previous reviewers, 91 year old housebound mother had a brief conversation with a cold-calling 'nice young man' which resulted in a £24.98 debit and a 'Dine' card in the post.
She is elderly and vulnerable but she is not daft. She would never have signed up for what is a useless membership had the terms been properly explained. She does not recall giving any permissions or bank details and believes that they were probably obtained through a third party.
Charlie at their Customer Support Team was happy to cancel the account and make an immediate refund. (Must check that that happens!)
How many elderly people have nobody to support them and oversee their finances? How much money do these people make from the vulnerable? How can the 'salespeople' live with themselves?
This kind of marketing is totally wrong and goes beyond being a bit of dodgy sharp practice. I believe it is unmitigated criminality, out and out fraud.
Avoid.

Spineless cretins targeting the elderly
Absolutely disgusting behaviour from this so called “company”, as per others sadly my elderly mum has been duped into giving her card details over the phone which in turn has led to other so called companies raiding her bank account, we have had nearly £500 taken over the last couple of months. You should be ashamed of yourselves targeting people who will give you their card details to get you off the phone. I will be taking further action and have already been on to the fraud team at her bank- and now her card is blocked don’t you dare ring her up for her new details as you’ll have me to deal with this time! I am raging!!

Do not touch.
Do not touch.
My 92 year old mum has just found £50 taken from her account with no recollection of authorising. I cannot get through to the company so am hoping the bank will help.
Please look out to your elderly family/friends.

Heartless Mis-Selling
As per other posts, my 90 year old mother was mis- sold a membership. We claimed charge-back but they contested, took the money back and claim "After investigation, it has been decided that the charge-back was ruled in our favour". I am in dispute with them still and will not let this go, I will make it public if need be. They have been asked for evidence of the "investigation", so I will post the outcome later on her. In meantime AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

My 83 year old mother was called in by The Big Savings Company and talked into buying a book of vouchers. She thought that she was going to get a book of vouchers to use at popular high street stores. The caller didn't ask if my mother uses the internet which she does not so she is unable to access the website and the Big Savings Club. They talked her into giving her credit card details which is very worrying indeed. She received her booklet with details of the club. Reading the small print it said that if she didn't cancel the trial which by the way she had paid £2.99 for then she would be charged £99.99 for the annual subscription.
Watch out for this company. They are good sales people and extract credit card details from people who have no way to use their product. I will call them tomorrow and cancel.

Sham
Bought a product from Tristar like previous, received a call to say if i had received it and then was told about their free trial for some vouchers. I told her i wasnt interested and she asked why, i told her i didn't want the faff of returning the product blah blah blah.
She went on and then i reluctantly agreed, i thought its not going to cost me anything to have a look.
Little did I know that when this booklet full of nonsense came it said they had charged me 2.99 for postage.....she failed to mention this.
I called them back fuming, they said they will listen to the tape and let me know.
Received a letter today just outlining that they had looked into it and i had given her my permission for my details to be handed over..... so in their terms that gave them permission to use my bank details again and charge me.
I called them and told them that she did not inform me about the charge, he said that was their decision however they had received the pack back that i returned woohoo- free gift was useless, I returned that too!
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS COMPANY, SCAM!!

A waste of time
Bought a product from Tristar and the was told about the big savings club for £2.99 you would get a free 21 day trial to use the big book of vouchers in anyway I like after receiving the booklets it turns out that there are only 3 or 4 vouchers and everything else seemed to be a top-up card that you need to order which takes up to 10 days to arrive and use if you don't cancel your membership within the 21 days then they will bill you £99.99 for a subsequence years membership. When I called to cancel and explained that I was misled ax I was told I would be sent a book of vouchers, only an apology was given and a refusal to refund the £2.99.
There are very few mainstream companies in the brochure and for the most part I'd say it was a huge waste of time.
