Terrible quality. Avoid these products. Had splintered wood on the cutting board. Unsafe to use. E-mailed and explained the issue, and Dan said I can't return as it "could be fixed with some sanding and resurfacing" (that I should do myself) Wish I could post pictures on this review. Zero/1000

Picked up my bespoke end grain chopping board from Dan today! What a true artisan Dan is - the board is beautifully crafted and looks amazing. I will be back for more.

Purchased the honey and lemon chopping board oil and it is a very good product. Very happy with my purchase and would buy again. Quick delivery that is a very reasonable price. Thanks to Dan for help with admin issue, fast response. Overall thumbs up!

Bought their "non slip foot kit" for a board I made myself. Feet look nothing like the picture, they're tatty and dirty as if they've been sitting in a junk drawer for a year and they were £11! For 4 screws with some cheap stinking rubber poorly attached to them! The board is a gift for someone so I thought I'd spend a little extra to make sure they're high quality and judged from this pricey website that they would be good. High prices and low quality goods from my experience, I'll be shopping somewhere else to replace this poor excuse of a product.

Ordered a large chopping board with engraving from Dan and Helen. Superb quality and the engraving is exactly what we wanted. Definitely built to last. Well worth the money. If cared for and looked after it will last a lifetime, It almost seems a crime to chop on it. Thank you Helen and Dan

Arrived damaged. Badly packaged! Had to wait until 11th January for a new one despite it being a Christmas present for someone.
The new one is not the best, it needs to be re sanded as it is very rough on the back,which is the chopping side.
Initially Dan said he would have the old one picked up but later changed his mind. I had to repackage it and take it myself to the post office despite it being heavy .
I initially owed him £10 for the engraving which he then demanded before he would send the new board!
Dans attitude was terrible and having now seen the new board I wish I’d got my money back.
Absolutely terrible experience. Having paid £145 I would have expected better!

We were looking for a solid (1 single piece) chopping board in a non-standard width of ~33-35 cm - which it turns out can be difficult to source! Dan was very helpful and was able to source a solid piece of iroko that would yield a board of that width. The finished board shipped quickly and arrived on time without any mishaps; it is beautifully finished, has already been put to work during a weekend's worth of heavy-duty cooking, and as a bonus looks stunning on our kitchen island. (The little rubber feet, which I requested as part of the order, are GREAT and I'm so glad we asked for them.) I would not hesitate to recommend the Chopping block shop to anyone looking for a high-quality board that looks great and will last a long time. Thank you, Dan!

I've just received my Christmas present to myself: a bespoke Black American Walnut chopping block. It's truly beautiful. Dan Randell-Sly was extremely patient while I changed my mind several times about the inscription before he chopped my board. He also gave me invaluable advice on how to care for my board. Thank you. I shall treasure it always.

I ordered the end grain walnut chopping block. Firstly, it is a piece of art. Stunning. The worst part, it arrived with a dent on one of the edges. Not a huge dent but it certainly catches the eye. This was most likely caused by the courier, but I contacted Dan to show him the damage. There wasn't really a solution offered, so I have to keep it as it is unless I can repair it myself. Now, it's not really the end of the world but when you spend £170 on a chopping board, you don't want it to be damaged and every time I look at the board all I see is the dent. It obviously affects me because I have had it for 2 weeks now and it is still in the box it came in!
I did't want this to be a negative review, because the quality of the piece, minus dent, is top notch.

Big thanks to Dan ( & Helen) for producing a fantastic quality product. After contacting Dan first we went for the end block walnut board - Not cheap but you can tell it will last years and years. Its stunning and we loved the bespoke nature of the board - from juice gutter on the reverse side to the chopping block logo layered into the main face. It really is a work of art!

I ordered the black bear size board as a present for a friend. After ordering it came to my knowledge that xmas orders had now closed. I emailed Dan and got a phone call back that evening. He was lovely, helped me in finding a solution and in the end offered me a larger board for the same price. To ensure we were able to get my mate the xmas/housewarming gift he deserved. After a long ole year like 2020, acts of kindness and generosity like that are truly so so welcome. So thank you Dan for the beautiful board.

Dan's advice when I called him and the time he took discussing what we were looking for made choosing his company the easiest of decisions.

Our "custom sized" maple chopping block, beautifully made for us by Dan, arrived and now sits on our kitchen island. The sapele board also arrived the same day and sits on our dining table.

Both of the boards are superb and we could not be more delighted with them; thank you.

Ordered a tin of wooden chopping board conditioner with orange scent.
The delivery came faster than expected and a good sized tin. Didn’t need too much for my round block. It’s lovely stuff and has really well conditioned my board. Orange scent could be stronger I think but that’s my personal taste as I like the smell of orange!!
