About The Cornish Fishmonger
Written by the company
Expertly and sustainably caught, you’ll be sharing the catch with some of the UK’s top chefs as well as many other top London restaurants, which we’ve been supplying for years. That doesn’t mean it comes with a hefty price tag though – it’s often better value, and certainly a lot fresher than any supermarket you’d buy your fish from.
If you’ve never ordered your seafood online before, it couldn’t be easier. Visiting our website is much like taking a trip to your local fishmonger, with the added bonus of not having to leave your home. You’ll have over 30 species of fish to choose from, and you can even decide how you want your fish to arrive - ready filleted, portioned or whole. Whether you’d like to send that certain someone a tasty gift or set up a monthly fish box order, you can do it all at the click of a button.
Simply choose when you’d like your fish to arrive, and we’ll prepare, label and package your fish, to be couriered to your door on your specified day, and don’t worry if you’re not there to take delivery, our special cold boxes will keep your seafood fresh until you get home from work.
Our service doesn’t stop there though – we’ve got an extensive range of delicious recipes for any of level of cook, as well as expert advice on preparing and cooking fish, and a handy seasonality chart showing what fish to eat when – like vegetables seafood is seasonal! Our friendly team will be on hand to help too, so just pick up the phone if you have any questions about fish.

The present firm succeeds Fish for Thought with whom I have dealt for many many years. Sadly the new company is very heavy on self promotion and not so good on supplying fair priced and truly fresh lobsters. My latest purchase was for 24 oysters( all perfect) a kilo of mussels (quite a few dead on arrival) and the smallest split lobster which was overcooked and sinewy Also tasteless and frozen. Sad to see standards slip. Everyone has a bad day. Let’s hope the next order blows us away.
SUPERB CRAB CLAWS!
Our crab claws, which we had as a starter on Christmas Day were absolutely delicious. We’ve eaten crab claws at the famous Joe’s stone crabs, in South Beach Miami, and can honestly say these were far sweeter. Absolutely outstanding!
Search for the caveat you might not get fresh produce
When ordering my lobsters the initial blurb is
All about a fresh product I ordered on my I phone and at no time did see anything to alert
Me that I would be receiving a frozen inferior
Product which were watery mush and were hardly edible this is the sort of rubbish you
Expect from a scam I’m going to ring my credit

We order some fish over one week in…The Fish they send is Frozen Fish not Fresh
We order some fish over one week in advance 14th December for delivery on the 21st December, DCP arrived at approximately 12.30 on the day but with no fish . The driver said he didn’t know what has happened but he has had 5 items stolen.
About 10pm on the 21st December I received a email to say sorry we missed you your delivery will be with you tomorrow 22nd December obviously this was to late but had no way to cancel the delivery.
I had sent a email to Cornish Fishmonger on the Saturday after the driver had left and did receive a email early Sunday morning saying the fish had not been stolen and they had refunded my payment and was welcome to keep the fish but I did say it was to late and didn’t need it now because we had to drive around Suffolk to replace the order as we needed it that day .
The next day the fish did arrive but curiosity got the better of us so we open the box to find 3 very wet containers.
This Fish we ordered was 12 KING Scollops , 1 Fresh dressed Crab and Smoked Salmon.
Well to our horror when we looked at the contents the King Scollops were not King they were very small with half the Scollops did not even have the roe on them , and then we looked at the label to see the use date was SEPTEMBER 2026 and not to re freeze so the Scollops were not fresh but frozen at just under £30 very expensive. We then looked at the Crab WHICH WAS VERY SMALL FOR OVER £9 and was very wet mostly brown meat with very little white meat again the same as the previous package do not freeze again and best date July 2025
The smoked Salmon was just in a very wet package.
We decided has it was Shell Fish not to take any risk and put it in the dustbin.
The moral of this we thought we was ordering FRESH FISH LIKE IT INDICATED BUT NOT IT WAS FROZEN FISH I COULD BY FROM ANY LOCAL SUPERMARKET.
Its now 4 days after this bad experience and still no money in my bank .
Utter rip off merchants
Utter rip off merchants.
King scallops ordered for £29.50 ... their marketing said "12 X King Scallops" ... what arrived wouldn't even get away with being called Queen's. The product weight (minus packaging) was 250g. That means they scammed me out £118 / KG !!! for a product I didn't order as I ordered King scallops. Of course they close Christmas Eve ... lucky them ... I had to drive around trying to find King Scallops, without success. The prawns I ordered were also crap quality ... steer clear ...

Paid for Christmas gift hamper for good friends - wasn’t cheap - should have been Salmon Royal, rose champagne, tea towel, handwritten note in a hessian bag. Mortified when friends messaged to ask if we’d sent them a piece of fish for Christmas….. that was all that arrived - no champagne, note, nothing….
Customer service said they’d organise champagne that afternoon, but still not all items delivered. Requested a call back/email to resolve but silence. We are local trying to support a local company. Not sure I’ll bother again.

Truly sad to leave this review for a clearly loved company but ordered more than 2 weeks in advance of a special occasion, even ordered to deliver the seafood a day early. No food arrived, no communication at all, no dispatch email, no sorry we can’t deliver, just nothing! Had to dash to Waitrose on a Sunday morning and cooked a very tasty cioppino.
Best lobster as rated by my mum
Ordered the fruits de mer platter for my mum for her birthday, and the food was so good that she said I had to write a review.
The best lobster she has ever had, and the other shellfish were all very good sized and delicious.
Great customer service
Great customer service. I had dashed off my order and ended up with a wrong delivery address and also missed a character off the discount code. I zapped off an email to TCF and immediately received a reply confirming change of address and also a refund to the discounted price. Brilliant. My recipients were really pleased with their fishy gift. Will definitely used TCF again.
Lovely fresh lobster
Lovely fresh lobster, well packaged with plenty of ice packs. My dad wanted to treat us all to a last meal, he had days to live when I placed the order, sadly the delivery which I thought was next day was significantly longer. When it did arrive we were missing a lobster so had to wait for another to be delivered, by which time my father was unable to eat, he passed away the following day. Disappointing service but very tasty seafood.

Had a poor experience with my whole seafood order. Squid had a pinkish tone and fell to mush when cooked. Prawns had heads left on which left them mushy on top and the outside of the body felt mushy. Mussels were starved so when cooked had very little meat in them. Total disappointment and tried to make out that it was a cooking issue but they did refund eventually. Had some symptoms of poisoning but luckily was not long lasting. Waste of a whole meal which included other components like chorizo, corn and potatoes. Won’t ever use them again.

Your boat's come in!
My go-to fishmongers for fabulous and other seafood for festive and birthday treats - or spoiling myself once in a while. It's impeccably prepared, beautifully presented, fresh and tasty, and transfers quickly to freezer, or tummy! Lots of tips on how to prep and a feast for the eyes too. I'd love to sing their praises more but I'm not good at sea shanties.
Very poor
Very poor. Very small box compared to the competitors. Included mussels, which was not clear on the website. I will not be ordering again.

the package was not delivered by DPD - dropped off at wrong address over half a mile away, and was finally delivered at the end of the following day by a kind neighbour, but not refridgerated and had significantly suffered. attempts to contact DPD failed - inspite of replying to their email. Photo of doorway was that of neighbour I suppose - we are in deep country .
