No hesitation is recommending Matt & Pippa, very impressed with their ease of manner, efficiency, professionalism and friendliness. Their passion for their craft is wonderfull to see and, of course, the food was stunning.

I would highly recommend The Countryman Chef.
I hired Matt to cater for a group of 8 friends celebrating my 50th birthday whilst staying at Lower Mill Estate.
From start to finish Matt was professional, helpful & genuine. I had contacted a few local private chef services, some didn’t reply & others just didn’t have the same vibe & ease that Matt did during the initial enquiry stage. The whole process with Matt from arranging dates, menus, deposits etc was straight forward & easy.
On the evening Matt & his partner arrived & were incredibly discreet & efficient, the table decoration was simple & perfect, the service fantastic & the food was amazing! We all loved it & everyone was highly complimentary.
The icing on the cake - the kitchen & table were cleared & it was spotless!

Matt worked closely with me to craft the perfect menu for the occasion. When the day arrived, I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food. We used Matt, The Countryman Chef, for one of the nights of my daughters hen weekend for 18 of us. The food was outstanding, beautifully served and absolutely delicious. Pippa and George who were serving and looking after us were brilliant. Just the right level of involvement. Quietly making sure everything was perfect and ran smoothly.
Matt was accommodating and professional from the moment I met with him, he coped with some last minute changes and was so helpful and pleasant to deal with.
I would highly recommend Matt if you have any catering requirements.

Absolutely delicious menu and wonderful evening thanks to Matt & Pippa! We booked them for my Mum’s birthday dinner, and it was completely relaxing as they did everything from lay the table to cleaning up the kitchen afterwards. Matt cooked an outstanding 3 course meal for our family of five (including a fussy toddler and a fussy grandad!). Everything was absolutely delicious & everyone loved all courses. It was a lovely treat to have Matt cook for us, he was professional, friendly & his food is 5*. Thank you!

The surprise was a huge hit with my husband, Matt had prepared the most delicious food based on my husbands favourites and it went down a storm with out guests.

Matt and his lovely wife Pip catered for us over two nights recently whilst we were staying in the Cotswolds.
Matt is friendly, fun, informative, knowledgeable, passionate and creative!
The first night Matt made up a fabulous two course meal for myself and the family. We wanted something we could throw in the oven after a full day out sightseeing with the family. He made it happen and delivered this to our door before we headed out for the day so it was in the fridge and ready to go on our return.
The second night we had the pleasure of not only Matt's company but that of the lovely Pip's too.
Matt created and cooked the most wonderful three course meal for us. The menu of which we had worked on and discussed prior to our trip as we needed something that catered for all (8 years young right up to grandma).
Nothing was too much trouble for Pip and she did a grand job looking after us; cleaning away and making sure our glasses were full.
We wouldn't hesitate to use Matt again and would recommend him for a special occasion, gathering with friends/ family or even just for a night off cooking.
A highlight of our time in the Cotswolds, what a team! Many thanks to you both x

Myself and 5 friends had a wonderful culinary experience on 11 May when Matt and his lovely partner Pippa entertained us with a private chef experience while we stayed at a lodge in the Cotswolds for the weekend.
Matt is a first class chef who produced the best food we had tasted in a long time (including meals at Michelin star establishments). The hot appetisers were delicious and the following 3 courses got better and better! With the added bonus of Matt's partner Pippa, who made sure our glasses were filled up at all times, it was a truly memorable experience and was the highlight of our girlie weekend.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Countryman Chef to anyone and I certainly can't wait until I have the opportunity to book again.

From enquiring, to building the menu, communication & sitting down to eat Matt’s food has all been 5 star.
Couldn’t recommend Matt & Pip any more. The food was fantastic, the service was extra & the experience was just what we wanted.
We were holidaying in the area to celebrate my mums 60th birthday & was recommended Matt through social media. We were able to communicate and build a menu to suit everyone in our party easily. Matt and Pip were very professional but also not in your face, they were able to read the room well. Each course was presented and tasted fantastic.
We also requested a birthday cake with some cupcakes which Matt also delivered to a high standard.
Our first private chef experience but not our last. All our party couldn’t stop talking about how great the food was.

From start to finish, the experience is first class. Matt & Pippa were fantastic w/ communication in establishing a desired menu in the build up & from the moment they arrived, everything was taken care of! From the cutlery / crockery used, to the presentation of the food, and most importantly, the quality of the food, nothing could be faulted.
I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

The most delicious blueberry and banana muffins! Fantastic service - would highly recommend! I ordered 12 muffins for my daughter’s 18th birthday breakfast. Baked fresh on the morning and all individually boxed. Great communication. Really impressed.

Matt & Pippa catered at a 21st birthday dinner I attended recently. I had never experienced a private Chef before but would definitely recommend them. The food was incredible & their warm personalities most definitely enhanced the lovely ambience of the evening.

Matt and Pippa came to a holiday home we had rented within the Lower Mill Estate, to help us celebrate a 40th birthday. The food was incredible, and Matt and Pippa were so lovely and friendly. We've never had a private chef before, but we would definitely recommend Matt, and if we're in the area we would choose him again. Such a lovely evening, thank you!

We booked Matt and his team for a private dinning experience for a surprise 60th birthday! It exceeded expectations, the food was amazing! One of the ladies who has a lot of different food intolerance was able to enjoy a 3 course meal, having her first dessert in years. Highly recommend Matt and his team, Collin was really friendly they couldn’t do enough for us.
