I messaged this company for advice on what bits are allowed due to the BS new rules and Vicky responded very quickly, she was more than helpful, even making time to email British showjumping to confirm as there has been so much confusion and vicky came back with the answers for me very quickly, I must say I’ve never had any company be this helpful before, I highly recommend and I know i will get any questions answered with a quick response , many thanks

Recently, I consulted with Vicky, and her guidance has significantly improved my horse's well-being. Despite the distance, we communicated through email, and she recommended a trial through the Horse Bit Shop, which is excellent too. I confidently purchased the bit she advised, and the transformation in my horse is remarkable. She now seems much calmer and more responsive, and it's wonderful to witness her ease after previous struggles with bitting.

I spoke to Vicki from The Horsebit Shop, at length about the issue I had with my horse being uncomfortable in his mouth. I told her how he behaved with the bit I had been using as well as the feedback from the equine dentist. After some discussion and consideration she offered me a choice of two different bits that she thought would resolve the problem. We decided to go with the one she thought my horse was most likely to be happiest with. The bit arrived quickly by post and was effective but a little large due to me measuring incorrectly. I rang and spoke to Vicki again, she immediately processed an order for the same bit in a smaller size and asked me to return the first one. The second bit arrived in a few days and has been just right. My horse is happier in his mouth than he has been for a long time and it's a pleasure to ride him now.

I'm back again... Having sort their advice previously I felt there was no one better to come back to wit my new horse.. and I was damn right! This time I spoke to Vicki and despite my endless stupid questions she had masses of patience and clear explanations helped e to get to the bottom of my issue. On a tight budget as we all are at the moment she recommended me a quality bit at a price I could easily afford and let me have it on trial... Result. Well Done Horse Bit Shop you were amazing again! Thank you from me and Paddy!

I can't remember how we first found out about The Horse Bit Shop, but I am so very glad that we did. They offer free bitting advice, and the knowledge, understanding and experience shown by Vicki is outstanding and second to none, who knew that a bit problem could be solved over the phone! Last year we spoke to Vicki about problems our gelding was having with his bit, and Vicki nailed it with the first bit that she recommended for us to try, problem solved! Yesterday I spoke to Vicki as our new mare was having issues with her bit, luckily we happened to have the bit she recommended, so we tried it, and already it is looking like the solution. I can't recommend Vicki and The Horse Bit Shop highly enough, Vicki is just amazingly good, I can't thank her enough for her speedy solutions, she solved our bitting problems with the first bit both times, just fabulous.

I cannot praise Ema from the Bit Shop highly enough. Right from the very beginning of owning my very sensitive and reactive ex showjumping mare, i had struggled to find any bit that she would happily accept. I initially had her examined by all the professionals- including my equine dentist, vet, saddle fitter and physiotherapist, to eliminate any possible physical reasons for her typical behaviour, (which was to throw her head up and down, leap on the spot and put her tongue either over her bit or out through the side of her mouth ). Every time i tried a different bit, she became increasingly anxious and mistrustful of me, and so i resigned myself to the fact that her ridden career was probably over, and so i decided to breed- ( and now have )- a beautiful foal for my daughter from her. I had hoped that perhaps the 18 month break would relax her and reduce her stress and anxiety levels, and then i decided to try again with her , but unfortunately to no avail. That was until i discovered a remarkable lady - (namely Ema) through recommendation. To condense a long story, Emma came to visit and spent over 2.5 hours with us, and the horse that i initially presented to her, was a completely different one to the one i was left with when she left. I now have a mare that will not only accept a contact- but actively seeks it, and is even becoming a little heavy on it - which gives me a really good feeling. Emma is not only a very knowledgable, skilled professional bit specialist, but she is also a very empathic horse communicator and she has completely changed the relationship i now have with my mare. If i could award her 6 stars, then i definitely would , and my only regret is that i didn't find her sooner. Thank you so much Ema.

Vicky listened to me regarding the issues i was having, suggested a bit to try that i never would have considered. My mare is so much better in her contact, movement and much better to bridle and unbridle- far happier pony.

What a great experience with this company with a fantastic outcome! Vicki’s assistance and advice prior to me even spending a penny was invaluable. She took the time to take in to account a lot of information about my boy and was able to provide recommendations for a bit that not only was fantastic for my sensitive boy but also wouldn’t break the bank. I couldn’t believe the difference without her even requiring to see him.

The option to trial bits is fantastic as well but there was no need to worry about having to send this one back. All emails were responded to extremely promptly and answered all queries that were asked.

What a fantastic professional service offered by The Horse Bit Shop for bitting advice. I’ve had great difficulty finding a bit for my super sensitive & reactive Akhal Teke, & Vicki with her wealth of knowledge & expertise really took on board the individual needs of my horse, & came back with a bit that is really working for us both. Can’t rate this service highly enough!

The Horse Bit Shop has been amazing!! I contacted them after I had purchased a bit for some bitting advice and Vicki couldn’t do enough for me, she gave me different options to pick from once I had given her all the information about my pony and I sent a couple of videos too. I haven’t been one to change my bit an awful lot so any questions I have emailed to Vicki and she has answered all my queries, she is fantastic!
My pony went lame during the trial so I rang the shop and added on another month’s trial which is fantastic that you can do that.

Vicki visited us for a bitting clinic with my teenage daughter and her horse and was absolutely brilliant. They’ve both struggled with her original bit with the horse evading contact and being quite fussy. Vicki was extremely knowledgable and so in tune with our horse. She spent over two hours trying various bits and narrowing down the options until we arrived at one she is working beautifully in. It’s been so enlightening to understand why she reacts to certain bits the way she does. It feels like a huge step forward to find one that works and I only wish that we’d asked for her help sooner.

I had a consultation with Vicky not too long ago and her advice has made such a huge difference to my horse. She is quote far from me so we had a chat over e-mail and she offered the option to trial via the Horse Bit Shop (who are also amazing). I bought the bit she suggested with full confidence after speaking with her and it has changed my horse for the better. She is so much more relaxed and responsive and its so nice to see her so comfortable after having such a battle with bitting in the past.

The advice from Vicky at the horse bit shop solved a number of issues with my double bridle bits . They are very knowledgeable people and my horse is now happy and settled in her mouth and going better than ever . Excellent company first rate friendly advice .

I have had the best experience with the Horse bit shop, and Vicki, who went out of her way to help me find a bit that my horse would finally work with. It seemed that nothing was too much hassle, and I asked a lot (!) of questions and even sent pictures which she offered to look at. I would immediately come back to this company if I needed it.

The Horse Bit Shop is an amazing resource - very wide product range and excellent advice. Vicki and Ema have been extremely helpful, listening carefully, asking lots of questions, reviewing photographs and making inspired recommendations. I have a horse who has gone from loathing his bit (and I tried a lot!) to accepting his contact happily and opening his mouth willingly for bridling. I have to admit to being a bit old school so I really didn't know my way round the newer bitting ranges and the choices seemed a bit daunting so I hadn't considered them. The Horse Bit Shop team were really great at explaining the different options and finding the perfect solution for my horse. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
