Having used this Company before I had…

Having used this Company before I had no hesitation in ordering again. I loved that you can choose each and every chocolate that you want in your choice of box also. Really quick delivery and absolutely delicious chocolates!

Irresistible intense flavours

I was given a box of Indulgence chocolates at Christmas by my grandchildren - the chocolates were irresistible so my daughter ordered me another box which I demolished very quickly. So I ordered a third box which took a few days to arrive. The chocolate box arrived beautifully packed with a photo card showing each different flavour. I am trying to only eat 1 per day to make them last longer but it’s a very hard task!

The best chocs around

These chocolate are always lovely. Such a variety of different flavours. I was brought some for my birthday and loved them so I reciprocated and brought her some. These are our go-to chocolates. Am always tempted to just buy myself some because they are so good!

Not up to usual hVery high Standard.

So many dark chocolates plus tablet chocolates! Seemingly several similar? Not many..? Milk chocolates which are my favourites. Very very poor. I do not know what to do with them. Inedible for me. Sorry . I cannot order again, unless I receive some form of compensation.

Dreadful chocolates, Abysmal company

Not impressed. The website and marketing are very slick and give the impression of a professional company. However the product and service delivery are seriously flawed. I received a box of sugar free chocolates as a gift and these were the issues:

1. The chocolates were not varied as in the website. I received a box of 24, of which 12 were the same two varieties - praline and coconut (a disproportionate number of coconut chocolates in fact). That left just 12 spaces left for all the other flavours meaning I got only one of each of many, completely not what was shown on the website.

2. The chocolates are made of poor quality ingredients - who puts palm oil into chocolates and charges £24 for a box? These are way inferior to Hotel Chocolat. They tasted gloopy and had very little cocoa solids in but I couldn't tell you how much because they don't put nutritional information onto the box.

3. The first ingredient in every chocolate is Maltitol but we had no idea of this until the box arrived because they don't publish ingredients online. Then even when the box arrived they do their best to hide the ingredients as they are printed in the teeniest font in a pale grey colour. They clearly don't want people knowing their chocolates are made of poor quality ingredients. The only reason I now know the ingredients is because (after I had eaten all of the chocolates) someone suggested that I take a photograph of the ingredients and enlarge it in Photoshop.

4. The selection choice was also printed in the tiniest font and was completely illegible. No one in my family could read them, so I contacted the company to ask them for the details to be sent to me but no one bothered to get back to me (I waited 10 days for a reply which I sent after January 2nd to ensure that they were back from Christmas holidays). As a result of this, I just decided to take pot luck. Unfortunately the first chocolate I picked was a coffee one and one of the few in the box to contain actual real coffee (all the others contain flavourings, not real extracts). I react badly to coffee and this was no exception. I take responsibility for the fact that I could have waited for the company to get back to me but 14 days on they still haven't bothered to supply the information. So I ate the chocolates without any clue of what I was supposed to be eating.

5. Eating chocolates blind is a great way to know if the flavours are good since they only way you can tell what you are eating is by how they taste. Unfortunately there were many chocolates that were really difficult to distinguish as they were quite bland in flavour. I used to run a food wholesale supply business and have an excellent palate. To be fair to this company, there was one flavour that I liked which was the cointreau (although I only got one rather than the two I was supposed to get). The strawberry was not bad and I was looking forward to the amaretto and pistachio but disappointed since the amaretto was overly sweet and the pistachio tasted nothing like pistachio. I actually also like the coffee chocolate although I was awake all night as a result (my fault!) The rest mostly tasted the same apart from the banana chocolate that will divide people (I didn't think it worked) and the coconut chocolates that I was given so many of but wish I hadn't been.

6. Now to the serious part of my review - I have given 2 stars to this company because the presentation was nice. However, the chocolates contain a large amount of maltitol and I had diarrhoea as a result without realising that this ingredient could cause this. The company is legally required to include a disclaimer on the packaging "Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect" but the box provided only a tiny portion of the legally required information. Maybe when the company reads this they can overhaul their printed materials supplied with the boxes and include the warning about maltitol?

7. This company needs to educate themselves on how to run a business and their legal requirements since they are breaking the law multiple times with this product: There is no nutrition information on the box, the ingredients are illegible, there is no product label, no weight, no reference to the use by date and no specification of cacao solids. I have been left wondering what kind of hygiene levels they have since they clearly haven't a clue about trading standards and if they don't know about basic product labelling law, do they even know about food hygiene standards?

8. Overall a pretty dismal experience and I have gone into detail in the hope that it helps the company improve. So I give the chocolates 1 star rating for taste, 4 stars for presentation (they were attractive), zero stars for product information and zero for customer service: overall just over 1 star.

Bought 2 boxes of chocolates one for a diabetic the other for a vegan , both were well impressed with the the choice of flavours and taste would definitely buy again. Had a problem with late deliveries but gave five stars still due to strike issues etc .

Luxurious chocolates

These are truly the most luxurious chocolates and there are so many to choose from.
Definitely would recommend. Easy to use and informative website, friendly company - email thanking for your order - and chocolates really are of the top quality.

I have ordered from this company before, they do the most amazing chocolates, hence the reason I ordered again. They took longer to come but thatwas the deliverers fault. Will order again.
