Bought a custom-made engagement ring, and it was beautifully made with in the budget I quote to them. My fiancée loves it, and is always showing it off. Work was complete in a speed time and the ring looks amazing. I will be definitely going back, to get the wedding bands made by them.

The service from James at Little Gem was flawless from start to finish. He was very knowledgeable about the diamonds, providing me with many options. He was very patient and ensured I picked the best stone possible. Not only did he come in under budget, he also delivered an engagement ring way beyond my expectations. We recently purchased our wedding bands from The little gem and couldn’t be happier with the rings. The whole team were so helpful from start to finish and guided us through picking our bands and the different options available. When we picked up our bands we were absolutely thrilled, they were perfect!

We had a signet ring made for our son’s 18th birthday with the family crest engraved on it. It was beautifully done and of an excellent quality. Our son absolutely loved it. The service we had from start to finish at the little gem was excellent . We would definitely recommend it , especially if you are looking for something special & original to be made.

I have just had a signet ring made for my grandson's 18th birthday. 18ct gold and a very heavy weight. Exactly what I wanted. It was everything and more than I had hoped for. Luciano did a fantastic job and James took infinite care to ensure it was right. I decided to have a pair of pear drop Tanzanite earrings made - Triple AAA grade and colour to match a pendant I already had. The earrings are for my granddaughter. James sourced 4 different pairs of stones to choose from. Again there was so much care taken to get it right. They are beautiful. Having had a bespoke jeweller for more than 40 years, who produced jewellery for Garrards (who has sadly retired due to ill health), I had never thought to find someone who could compare. I was wrong, and am so pleased to have found The Little Gem. My sincere thanks to both Luciano and James for all their help and the amazing jewellery they make. As you can imagine we shall be returning.

When I entered Little Gem I wasn't sure what I wanted. I needed my late husband's wedding ring used to make something I could wear. I received great help and sound advice and ended up with a pair of beautiful earrings to match my engagement ring. Something that I had always wanted.

Lou advised us on, and then created our wedding rings and was endlessly patient helping us understand what it was what wanted. A really personal experience, and we really felt we were in good hands. I then had some simple chains fixed, and again the communication and handling of the work was exemplary

I have often felt patronised and talked down to by other jewelers but Little Gem have a great family feel to them and they're clearly passionate about what they do - couldn't be happier with their service,

Exceptional Service .... I decided to write this review because of the utterly amazing service I had from James and Lou. We/I commissioned a number of pieces from a 70th birthday gift to my 20th wedding anniversary. The piece for my Anniversary is quiet frankly exceptional. A stunning piece which will be passes down through generations. Thanks you. I have a number of other pieces planned, will not be going anywhere else.

Great experience with the Little Gem. My partner and I both had our engagement rings made with custom designs. Both rings are gorgeous and exceed expectations. Lovely people and beautiful quality jewellery. Definitely recommend.

We have read all the great reviews of this business but sadly our experience did not match them. A commissioned golden wedding anniversary pendant was just finished on time, nearly a month later than quoted, but the chain, chosen by James, was not the length promised, another one was not available and so the pendant could not be worn. It was even suggested that the recipient had an unusually thick neck. A month later, after several chasings, miscommunication and various excuses, we still await a replacement chain so the pendant can be worn. Embarrassing, upsetting and time-consuming.
Update: Chain finally produced 16 September when James avoided us and we were berated for leaving this review. Extraordinary.

My husband commissioned a bespoke piece of jewellery for me to celebrate our 20th Wedding anniversary. I had several rings inherited from my grandmother and mother which I rarely wore and decided I wanted to incorporate the stones into a bracelet I could wear everyday. Lou and James did a wonderful job at every stage from the first tentative ideas all through the design process to the final beautiful unique bangle which includes the diamonds and rubies I already had plus a gorgeous new emerald to celebrate 20 years of marriage. The whole process was both very professional but also very friendly. I would highly recommend Little Gem to anyone looking for great service and a very special piece of jewellery.

I had a fantastic experience with the Little Gem! They were very responsive as soon as i reached out, and keen to understand exactly what i was looking for. They helped me convert a vintage pendant into an earing, and sourced and designed a matching one. The quality of the work was excellent, and they perfectly matched the gemstone from the original pendant to the new one. They were fair on pricing and helped set expectations early and noted the things that would potentially cost more or less to help me budget. James and Lou were knowledgeable and friendly throughout the process and I would absolutely work with them again! Thanks for a very special job well done!

The Little Gem were amazing from start to finish when purchasing my engagement ring for my partner. We started with a design consultation on what style, metal and stone, then moved on to hand picking the diamond from a choice of beautiful stones.

Then the ring is handmade bespoke to order in the goldsmiths workshop on site, it’s amazing to see the craftsmanship and care this family business puts into their work.

My partner was over the moon with the result, she loves that the ring is bespoke to her and nobody can have exactly the same style ring as her unlike other jewellery stores.

I would highly recommend The Little Gem for all jewellery, but especially engagement rings, as a man who knows little about diamonds or rings, James explained everything in an easy to understand and digestible format that made me at ease when choosing the right ring for my future wife.

I was looking to get a bespoke ring made after finding my dream wedding ring in a high street shop at a price over my budget, and my friend recommended The Little Gem to me. It is almost an hour from where I live but was well worth the trip and I am so glad I didn’t go elsewhere.

James and Lou are clearly a dream team with such expertise and passion about jewellery and the art of designing and making it. They wanted to make sure my wedding ring’s shape fitted alongside my engagement ring for optimum appearance so I left my engagement ring with them, mainly because I live so far away.

When I collected my ring I was blown away by the quality. James always takes the time to explain the finer details that we might miss or not know about when it comes to jewellery and stones etc. I have no doubt that my ring has been made using the finest metals and stones and will last a lifetime. He gave me advice on how to look after it and keep it looking it’s best. He also gave me a brilliant price.

I had a gorgeous ruby and diamond eternity ring designed and made here for my 21st birthday. The service was outstanding and we were made to feel very special and welcomed throughout our visits. The goldsmiths were extremely friendly and truly passionate about the jewellery, demonstrating knowledge about the gems and metals. I was delighted with the finished product and would highly recommend The Little Gem to everyone.

I have no problem at all recommending Little Gem.
Lou & James, who combine jewellery making experience with creative flair, have been extremely helpful and professional in delivering several projects. All at very competitive prices.
I now have a brand new modern ring made by Lou from my ‘scrap’ old unworn pieces, a lovely sapphire ring which has been repaired and reset, and an inherited rather plain bracelet now sports a gorgeous diamond embellished medallion thanks to some inspiration from James. And, my rather dirty and worn Rolex has a new lease of life.
