We recently had the pleasure of working with TLC on a loft extension and first-floor renovation for our home, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Before committing, we did our homework and obtained quotes from around 7-8 companies. While TLC wasn’t the most expensive option, they also weren’t the cheapest — but from our very first meeting with Connor we felt completely confident they were the right team for the job. Their professionalism, knowledge, and approachable nature immediately stood out.

Every single tradesperson who worked on the project was brilliant. The electrician, plumber, plasterer, and decorators were all highly skilled, professional, and a pleasure to have around. It was clear that TLC works with a team of true professionals who take pride in their craft. The quality of the finished work is fantastic.

One of the standout aspects of working with TLC was their responsiveness. Connor, Liam and the office staff were always available to answer our questions, address any concerns, and keep us updated on the progress of the project. This level of communication made the entire process stress-free and enjoyable. They were also incredibly efficient without ever compromising on quality, completing the work in a timely manner.

We’re so impressed with TLC that we’re already planning our next project with them—a ground-floor back and wraparound extension. We have no hesitation recommending them to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and friendly team.

Well done to the whole TLC team who did a loft conversion and complex flat refurb for me. The building work was done to a phenomenal standard by Johnny and Aron, who are master builders and incredibly thorough. I massively appreciated them keeping me updated and checking with me on design/layout details. Brad is an expert tiler with incredible attention to detail and did a heroic job cutting and installing granite kitchen worktops. Andrew was brilliant at handing a sensitive situation with the neighbours and together with Connor was always available to deal with any issues. Matt did a top job with second fix. Pedro was outstanding with finalising any snagging issues. It was absolutely worth going with TLC, who were very fairly priced and truly experts on all things lofts and general building. They ensured I was happy with the final result, which shows their care and dedication. Also a super friendly bunch and great to work with.

We used the services of The Loft Converter for our side storey, double extension. The team were great in helping us plan the next steps and how they could bring our plans to life. They were very flexible with ideas and supported us throughout the entire project and whenever issues came up during the building work, the team were always on hand to help resolve as quickly as possible. We are so happy with our new extension and would definitely recommend the services of The Loft Converter.

The team at TLC built our L-shaped loft conversion in August 2023. We had seen a fair number of builders before deciding on them, as well as viewed previous client’s lofts for the final three. This was a very important step as we were able to chat to their previous clients and find out their opinions on how their build went.

Everything seemed to go smoothly from the start. Our Project manager, Andrew Payne, kept in close touch through the WhatsApp group he set up, as well as with his daily visits, especially during the time it was being built. He was always on hand to helpfully answer queries and to provide information and advice, too. The carpenter assigned to our job, Johnny Mansi and his co-worker, Aron, were always on time and ready to start work. They worked hard during the day and the building was erected remarkably quickly. It was very apparent to us that Johnny’s work is exceptional and we are more than happy with his work. As the building work progressed and other tradesmen started coming in, we were happy to note that all of them were also so professional, polite and helpful. Their honest approach to any questions we had, or things we wanted changed, was great and we always knew what was possible and what was not and, importantly, why something wasn’t possible.

One of the things we were most concerned about is parking and inconvenience caused to neighbours etc, as our street has a lot of commuters parking for the station so there is very little spare space close by. Andrew, Johnny and, in fact, the whole TLC team were so good with understanding this and being accommodating. We were kept informed when big deliveries were scheduled, which necessitated the use of a crane, and if these arrived too early, someone was dispatched quickly to come and deal with it.

On the whole, we are very happy with the professionalism and level of work that TLC’s team provided us with. We would use them for any future building projects as well as recommend Andrew’s team to others.

Very satisfied with the overall performance of TLC. Any issues I had and there weren't many TLC looked to resolve these as soon as possible. Standard of workmanship very high and I'd recommend them to anyone wanting their loft converted.

We were so impressed with this company, who carried out our loft conversion. The work was to the highest standard. The team is specialist and each person involved was highly skilled. The project was delivered on time, the cost reasonable and the communication superb. A joy to work with. I cannot rate more highly.

Everyone at TLC has been so helpful, especially the two Callums, Connor and Scott. Our architect’s design caused a bit of a headache in terms of the staircase, but TLC made tweaks that ensured we had something that was better than originally planned. The end result is something much more in keeping with the building. Have already recommended them to friends.

I’ve been extremely happy with everything TLC have done for a recent loft conversion. I found the head office staff friendly and extremely easy to deal with. The actual project itself has been significantly more hassle free than previous projects I have undertaken. Every single person that they have sent to the house has been extremely easy to talk to, not patronising, friendly and explain things in a clear way. Moreover, their work has been superb. Any unforeseen problems are quickly put right and without fuss. I am extremely happy with the quality of both the build and finish, I would have no hesitation in recommending them to someone else for a loft conversion.

Naturally, as projects go on, you do anticipate that there will be additional cost incurred along the way, but unlike previous builders we’ve used, it was not commonplace and all costs were kept to a minimum.

I found everyone to be extremely accommodating and should we ever need to do a similar project in the future I’ll go straight back to TLC.

Like many, I reached out to several loft building companies for a quote. However TLC stood out to me in their attention detail and also in reverting back to my enquiries promptly and with Professionalism. The person who provided the quote (Andrew Payne) also was the project manager. This helped massively for me in the communication front as there was continuity on the ton of details agreed.

As part of the job, I was looking to change all the roof including the outrigger, take down 2 chimneys and replace all guttering and fascia boards. This was a big job!

TLC have now completed the loft work on schedule, and the results are outstanding. My family couldn't be happier. We managed to get 2 good sized bedroom, a bathroom in the loft space, also plenty of storage. Their tradesmen have all been great and taken the time to talk about the specifics and consult me on the details.

Meeting Connor was a deal breaker in making up our mind after reviewing and meeting a lot of builders. Really pleased with TLC’s workmanship and work ethic. We had a number of quotes for a loft conversion and found TLC were the most detailed in explaining what was needed.
When we started we were told between 7 and 9 weeks and we were in within 9 weeks.
The teams they sent were amazing.
Always happy to chat about what they were doing and came to us before any major parts were done to make sure we were happy.
The flexibility in the project means we actually got a better space than we were expecting.

Let's start by saying we are delighted with the new living space we now have in the loft. Instead of the standard loft conversion of a bedroom and en-suite bathroom, we wanted a new living space and a utility room, which The Loft Converter duly delivered. The basic structure went up quickly, the thing that took longer than expected for the finishing work. As would be expected with a project of this size, issues were encountered along the way, but they were all resolved quickly and without any hassle whatsoever. Everyone who was working on the house were friendly and easy to get on with. A lot of extra work was also done, such as changing the main staircase, completely retiling the roof and front bay, and repainting the outside of the house. This was all organised by TLC, leaving us without the need to find tradespeople ourselves. So all in all, we're very happy with the work.

A couple of months ago I received a quote from the business following a site visit. Both the office manager and site manager were responsive, friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this business in future. They appear to maintain a good respectable reputation.

After months of researching different construction companies to build our loft conversion we saw signs for TLC who were working locally and decided to give them a call.

We wanted a full service contractor who would project manage and organise trades on our behalf; this was to be our first project of this scale so wanted to work with a company that would be able to guide us through the process.

From our first meeting with Connor he was very thorough in his explanation about how TLC worked; he talked us through every stage and what would be required and what to prepare for. Within a few days he had already prepared our quote and sent it over with no hard sell or push for deposits - he was very patient after a lot of back and forth over contracts and changes we wanted to make.

When we got to our start date everything ran to schedule; we were kept informed of who would be coming for each stage and were put into a group chat with all the contractors so we could all keep in touch.

The build moved very quickly; the contractors were all efficient and turned up when they were booked to. They also gave us advice about things to consider when choosing materials and finishes.

Andrew, our PM, was invaluable and checked in with us daily and had regular site visits to make sure we were happy with all the work being carried out. This was very important to us because when choosing a contractor you want to have a good relationship with your team as you are letting people into your home for a long period of time; it was also important to us to have a team that were approachable which the whole TLC team were.

The team of contractors were all professional, hardworking and very friendly. Everything was completed to a high standard and the team worked diligently until we were satisfied.

We are so happy we chose TLC - they turned a daunting, stressful project into an easy build and were so professional and accommodating whilst doing so- we will not hesitate to use them for future projects.

They turned a dark,unused and unloved space into a beautiful bedroom, with en-suite and walk in wardrobe.

From the very first message I sent to Georgie to find out about the process for the first extension we’ve ever done, to meeting Connor when he came to talk through what we wanted to then having our extension built by James and his team, we have been very impressed with everyone who has been involved and trust between us was immediate. Connor set up a WhatsApp group for us and communication was top notch with responses made incredibly quickly. I’ve been working from home during the extension and the respect all the builders have given to ensure that there is as minimal disruption as possible has been very much appreciated. The workmanship is of a high quality and we have been very happy with the process. There have been issues and unexpecteds, as there would be with any sort of building work, and Connor and James have always made sure to put our minds at rest that they are in control of the matter. The best thing that happened was TLC leaving a sign outside a house they were working on in a road near me and I made contact and I would highly recommend TLC to anyone who is after doing building work.

We embarked on our loft extension journey in 2020 and our builder let us down which was quite a blow. We had seen TLC banners and cars across Barnet and got in touch. Connor came over for a meeting and to understand our requirements for the loft. He absolutely understood what we wanted and was with us every step of the way. Our only regret was not getting in touch with TLC earlier. When we got stuck on some of the decisions Connor arranged for us to visit some of the lofts they had built and everyone we met only had good things to say and were super helpful.

Connor managed our build, he set up a WhatsApp group and there was total transparency regarding the trades, what was going to be done who was coming over the works no surprises. The team were extremely punctual, helpful, friendly and super professional. Any queries we had, the team were always there or a phone call away to take the time and talk us through or advise us of the various available options.

Connor, Luke, Callum, Billy, Charlie, Mark, Charity, etc the entire team were a dream and they’ve also helped us with the ongoing refurbishment of our entire middle floor. I can’t rate them enough you hear all these nightmare stories, but our entire build went smoothly and everyone who has visited has commented on what a good job TLC has done. We are so happy.
