I had a great one year with The Novelry. Even before I was a member, they started guiding me, giving suggestions on which course would be the best fit for me. I took The Big Edit course, and their guidance led me to a place of confidence, motivation and knowledge of both the craft and the industry. They also have a lovely community of aspiring writers, experienced editors and writing coaches who are always open to help.
I will be continuing my membership even though I finished the course.

The Novelry takes the stupefying mystery out of writing a novel. It’s a meticulously well-structured and well-supported learning platform with a super-personalize-able learning trajectory, and it is led and staffed by a highly personable, professional, and accomplished team of working authors. Definitely worth the investment.
If you're a writer, whether published or just want to be, and are finding yourself in a bit of a rut and in need of some community and inspiration, I could not recommend The Novelry more fervently. It is run at such a high level. Louise Dean's courses combine intellectual rigor with the sheer joy and wonder of writing, tremendous humor, and motivational boot camp pep talks. Then there is the enthusiasm and team spirit of all the amazing coaches and editors, all acclaimed and highly regarded with years of experience. Then there are the guest speakers that include hugely successful writers, and agents. Everyone is at the top of their game. Finally, the community forum interface is exceptional, great for networking with other writers. I'm now in my second year of being part of this community, getting ready for the ultimate manuscript assessment, and it never disappoints. No question is too silly, no plea for help ignored. The Novelry bursts at the seams with its brilliance on every level. It is a godsend.

I loved the Classic Course. It helped to renew my confidence in myself as an aspiring novelist. The course content and exercises as well as the encouragement and support of the online community and teachers were all wonderful. Can't wait to now get started on The Ninety Novel Writing Course now. Would recommend this to any writer, no matter where you are on your writing journey.

A Career Changing Experience
I have published a number of books that were shortlisted and honorably mentioned in nationally recognized competitions. Yet, I realized after taking The Novelry's 90 Day Novel and Big Edit Courses how much I had missed in attempting to learn writing on my own. These classes opened my eyes to essential literary elements that I'd read about but never quite understood how to execute in my own prose. Following their step by step guide to character development, pacing and theme afforded me crucial insight not only into what will keep readers turning pages but the importance of the writing journey itself!
I am about to start The Big Edit and I have to say I am so impressed with the courses, the workshops, the app, and most of all, the couches. They have been phenomenal and so supportive. They have given me the confidence to believe that I can write a successful novel.

I have been writing for almost my entire life, assuming a love of writing was enough to see me through to a published bestseller. And while that is a great (and important!) place to start after two failed novel submissions I decided to seek outside help. With a motto of "happy writing," The Novelry is truly a home and support for aspiring authors. No matter where you are in your writing journey, I'd recommend taking one of their classes! I'll admit, the cost is not small but it is worth every penny. I am completely changed as a writer since starting (and recently completing) The Big Edit and have so many more tools in my writing toolkit when I am struggling, feeling challenged, or just plain blocked.

If you're thinking about taking your writing to the next level, I can not recommend The Novelry enough. The course is designed to grow your idea and motivate you to write the book you've alway said one day you'll write. Whether a novice or an experienced writer, the 90 Day Novel Course will give you the tools to be able to complete your first draft by the end of the course. The coaching sessions with best selling writers are priceless. I very much felt like the Novelry want you to succeed.

The Novelry is not just an amazing writing course, it is so much more. It is also a community of ambitious writers, authors, mentors, editors, and all-round lovely people who will be with you on your writing journey.
Joining The Novelry two years ago was the best decision I made. The courses are designed in a way that will keep you motivated and excited to find your story. I joined before I even had a story idea and since then I have written a first draft, been through rounds of edits, and have a complete manuscript I am really proud of.
Thanks to the expert guidance of The Novelry the manuscript has received interest from a number of agents and was longlisted in an award this year. I am so glad that I have found my writing community!

If you've done a lot of craft workshops, literary deep dives, and writing intensives---and have lost your way with the juice and spark of writing---this course may be the elixir you need. Bye bye somber morning hours and authorial ennui. Hello creative flash and vibrant, sustainable story-telling life.

If you are serious about writing a novel, this is the school to help make it a reality. At age 65, I decided to try and write a book. I had always wanted to, but I never thought I could do it. A year later, I have it written and am on the Big Edit course. I never would have been able to accomplish this with any other program. I didn't know how to write a chapter, much less forty-four of them! If you are willing to do the work, the Novelry will help you accomplish your dreams.

I just completed the Classics course, and couldn't have loved the experience more. Yes, I learned all the fundamentals about storytelling, but the course is about so much more than that. For me, it was part instruction, part therapy and part inspiration. Not only do I have the nuts and bolts of my story prepped and ready to go, I feel emotionally ready to confront the blank page! Very grateful to Louise and the team at the Novelry, for understanding what writers really need to start writing. Thanks for a joyful ride!
The editors at The Novelry are fantastic! I worked with the amazing Tash Barsby, whose expertise and encouragement are unparalleled. I’ve been writing for many years, but I learned important things from this consummate professional. Incorporating Tash’s insights helped me nudge my manuscript forward—and into a publishing contract! I am so grateful! From this moment on, I will share every single manuscript with Tash before submitting to my publisher. Thank you, thank you to the pros at The Novelry! You helped me make my dreams reality!

The support from tutors, who are themselves bestselling authors (and also incredibly kind), is for me, what makes the Novelry so special. Most of the Novelry's courses include tutor chats, and being able to chat with someone in the industry, who is themselves published, makes so much difference. Any time I felt stuck, felt my confidence waining, or if I wanted to run plot/character ideas past someone who 'got' my story, I'd book a tutor chat. The support from tutors (and Louise herself), always made me feel they truly believed in my novel, and me as a writer, and genuinely want me to succeed. The Novelry has become my writing home - a place I feel safe and supported.
As well as tutor chats, the Novelry offers the opportunity to have your manuscript read by an editor who has worked in the publishing industry acquiring novels - these editors have worked with HUGE bestselling authors, and through the Novelry, little old me had the ability to chat with them about my novel! This is game changing. The feedback I've been given from a former Penguin editor is insightful and encouraging, and should, I hope, allow me to take my novel to the next level, something I may not have been able to do alone.
No matter how much or how little you know about the craft of writing, the Novelry has a course for you, and a community that you will likely cherish being a part of, I know I do.
Joining the Novelry was the best decision I've made in my writing journey. If I could give them 100 stars I would :)
The Novelry writing courses cut out a lot of the overwhelm and isolation of being a novice writer. Their tools-not-rules approach is incredibly helpful to finding your own journey with expert guidance. The one-on-one coaching, story clinics, sessions with published authors and agents, and vibrant community all helped me level-up my writing and create something I'm incredibly proud of.
The Novelry is outrageously brilliant.
The first thing they do is convince you, most convincingly, that you are already a storyteller who can be taught to be a writer. Then, without much further ado, they start to prove it. By the end of "The Classic" course, I am as convinced as they are.
Now, as I continue with "The Ninety Day Novel" course, I feel I am in close partnership with The Novelry learning to write well - to my full potential - with the clear longer term aim of convincing others: publishers, literary agents, readers, my family, friends, anyone we can, really, that I have become a writer.
This feels really, really great. In fact, ironically enough, words can hardly express how great this feels.

I'm blown away by the Novelry. I spent quite a long time looking for the right course for me and the Novelry has exceeded all expectations.
It's wonderfully structured so that you're kept on track but also able to go at your own pace when you need to. You work through your individual course material and exercises online at your own speed, but you're also invited to join the community space immediately. This includes groups for the module you're currently working on and an open invitation to join any or all community spaces for all the different genres (e.g. crime and suspense / science fiction and fantasy, young adult writing etc). At the moment, each genre group holds monthly workshops (all welcome!), there are weekly story clinics (these are basically tutorial groups led by one of the writer coaches), and there are regular guest events with writers, literary agents or publishers. On top of all of this, there's a quiet writing hour every weekday, spaces for sharing resources or finding writer buddies, and apparently there's also a summer party!
Really looking forward to starting my coaching and feedback sessions with the fantastic author coaches and editors that I've met so far, and hopefully produce an actual finished novel! Thank you, Novelry team, for all your support, encouragement and inspiration so far.

The Novelry gave me the community, accountability, and insights I needed to actually sit down and write a first draft of my novel—something I've been wanting to accomplish for years. From the incredible coaching sessions that helped reinvigorate my writing and support me when I felt doubtful to the wisdom in each day's lesson (and the vlogs from Louise—you will feel like you're chatting with a true friend!) this course was one of the best gifts I could give myself as a writer. Looking forward to the next course, The Big Edit!

Amazing team to work with! My coaching sessions were informative and gave me direction. Course materials are comprehensive with handouts, interviews, and visual aids. When they promise follow-through, they keep their word. I’m very satisfied.

I engaged with The Novelry with modest expectations, and all down the line was quite impressed with what I encountered. Louise Dean curates a writer's resource that keeps pace with the trench warfare of producing new fiction. Keeping you in touch with the elevated values animating the very best literature, she also stands beside you in the bloody business of birthing a new bit of world each day before breakfast.
