A writing course with heart and soul. Packed with warmth, affirmation and endless inspiration. The structure is excellent - cosy at the start and progressively more challenging. Entirely absorbing.

I enjoyed the Novelry course very much, and I have been looking forward to the next steps in my novel writing journey.

What Louise has created with The Novelry is beyond wonderful. The lessons timed out perfectly with my experiences as I authored my own first draft. There is a perfect mix of historical literary education, strongly structured guidance, and a warm personal touch from Louise herself.
My first draft would not be complete without The Novelry. I am forever grateful for this experience and I cannot wait to see how my story grows from here!

The Novelry is the very best writing course I have ever taken. The lessons offer truly useful information, presented with wit and wisdom, so that aspiring writers are able to look at their work from the point of view of the reader. This may seem like a subtle shift, but in reality, it is massive, liberating creativity and giving the writer a brilliant way into the story. One on one coaching with publishing professionals is another key feature whose value can scarcely be estimated. Highly recommended.

I loved every minute of doing the Classic Course with The Novelry. The course was delivered in such a warm, fun and relaxing manner - it was like being read to from an armchair by my grandmother! Really, at no point did I feel like I was actually taking a course, and this made me want to come back every day after work to learn my next lesson. The materials were set against interesting concepts and histories, and used various novels to demonstrate the different elements of story-writing. This made the learning so much fun and engaging. I have definitely come away with more confidence and motivation, plus a huge bag of tools that I can now use.

I absolutely loved the Classic Course. Each morning was something new and delightful. The good writing advice was interpersed with videos, music and excerpts from many books. It was educational, inspiring and fun.

Yes there's lots of superlatives in the title of my review (what else would you expect from a writer talking about a writing course?) but this is proving to be one of the best experiences of my life. The Novelry has given me the structure, the expertise and the teasingly-tangible belief that I can make my book-writing dreams come true. Whatever happens, I will never be the same since undertaking this marvellous adventure.

The Novelry helped me write my first novel. Their lessons and tools are born from their own experiences, making them all the more valuable. The coaching and live workshops are always insightful and kind. The community feedback is rich and constructive. Most of all their sincerity and compassion come through every interaction. If you are serious about improving your craft, completing the work, and not writing completely alone, the Novelry is terrific.

The Classic Course is unlike any writing course I've ever done. The content is inspiring, and beautifully presented and encouraged me to deep dive into my passions and obsessions, to find the story I really want to write. I am off to do the 90 day course now, as part of the finished novel course, and I am beyond excited, but also feel like I'm in safe hands.

This is an absolutely incredible program (it's more than a program though, isn't it?) for authors who want to be published. It has everything from courses, to private tutor sessions, to workshops, to interviews with well known authors ... I could go on and on. The point being, you can use this program to find the way you learn best, and there will be a wealth of material available to you. The coaches are all helpful and enthusiastic, and the community is warm and uplifting. It was definitely an investment to sign up, but I'm so happy that I did.

The Write Your Novel In 90 Days course ensured I stayed on track and motivated and the daily sessions really did encourage thinking and support my writing. Louise Dean is with you all the way and she's a fun mentor, she's also extremely smart and an excellent teacher. My tutor sessions were the key to my completing my first draft and the one-to-one contact was invaluable. Thank you The Novelry.

I enrolled on the 'The Book in a Year' course in April 2022. By early December, I had written a first draft. The Novelry has changed me from a person who 'would love to write a book', to a person who is now happy to get up an hour early every morning and actually put words down.
There are so many wonderful aspects to this course. The daily lessons are inspirational. Some of them feature Booker-listed author Louise Dean, the founder, speaking about her own writing process. That has been really helpful.
All of the Author Tutors are successful published authors, and you can book a session with any of them. My sessions have been with Emylia Hall. She has been kind, wise, insightful and encouraging.
You are guided to write the story you want to write in your own way. There is no requirement to share your work with others, or to read other people's work. You make your story as strong as possible.
There is a supportive, community environment here. There are no guarantees in the world of writing, but I'm giving myself the best shot by doing this course. I feel that I am in safe hands at The Novelry.
I took the Advanced Course at a time when I was lacking in self-confidence and it's given me an enormous boost. I feel ready and able to tackle my next draft now, will all the new tools I've acquired in my belt, and I know I'll be going back over some of the sessions to reinforce them, as there was such a lot packed into the four weeks.

The Novelry is a unique and wonderful place where you can learn new writing techniques, receive support from bestselling published authors and connect with fellow writers.
It’s a community which makes writing fun and dynamic, and I am very lucky to have found it.

I began The 90 Day Novel Course in March 2022, after I sent the first draft of my novel to beta readers. It was a make-or-break moment. I'd had enough of it, so I wanted to know if it was worth pursuing! The overall feedback was that it needed a lot of work but it was a fabulous story. So, how did I set about getting this work done?
I joined The Novelry. It had accountability and guidance at my fingertips and was brimming with the reassurance that I craved. With this, I received daily lessons and the inspiration to keep going!
The real treasure behind it all is Louise Dean. She is super generous, kind and clever, and she has this unique ability to make you feel seen. She wants you to succeed and she'll make sure you know it! You'll feel happy and safe, and that's how your greatest work will get done. (It has the best reviews for a reason, people! 😄)

Writing a novel is my Everest. The goal I have always been obsessed with but unable to attain. The Classics course kindly and carefully guided me from my paralyzing fear of failing to believing that there just ain't no mountain for a climber. No matter what may follow, I will be forever grateful.

I just completed The Classic Course with The Novelry. After many years of reading and writing in other programs without ever finishing a novel, I feel much more connected to my writing and my self as a writer now. I feel confident and supported by the whole Novelry team to go on to The 90 Day Novel! I highly recommend The Novelry. It's worth every penny!

Many people have a novel in the drawer they’ve been working on for years (my case). The Novelry is not only about finishing it, but creating a commercially viable product. Many people can write, but few understand all the technical choices that must be made. The Novelry has specialists in all fiction genres who make clear how the traditional formulas work. The approach is systematic and demanding. Their programs essentially replace an MFA in Creative Writing at very low cost. You also get access to a supportive community of writers (many of whom have published multiple times) all over the world, and, if you do the work, access to an extensive network of literary agents. I cannot recommend them too highly. They give you the tools and feedback you need to present yourself credibly to the industry. It is not only about the writing, but how to prepare 1-line, 1-paragraph, and short summaries of the work for marketing purposes. If you want to get serious, this is the place to do it.

I had never heard of The Novelry before a link was shared to me by an apparently psychic friend, with a note saying simply "for you!" The Novelry has literally changed my life as a writer, and it's also caused me to lose weight, rethink my social habits, and create a better morning routine (more on that later - nice side effect, in my opinion.)
I am enrolled in the Book In A Year program, have completed The Classic, and begun the Ninety-Day Novel; it's those elements I will focus on here. I will share a separate review once I've joined The Big Edit and can speak to that process.
As writers, I think most of us struggle with imposter syndrome, so I won't delve into that too much - suffice to say, I've got my share and that has sabotaged me over the years as I dabbled in creative efforts while working an extremely stressful, left-brained Wall Street career. Since joining Book In A Year, I feel empowered to move forward in a definite, sustainable way - both WRITING actual fiction, which is motivating to me, and IMPROVING THE CRAFT OF WRITING, which is important because there's a lot of MFA-type material contained in these courses. Seriously - this material is DENSE. If you work through it, you will absolutely be a better writer than you were when you started (that is, you will emerge as someone who produces higher-quality work, more consistently, with considerably less stress/agita/heartburn than previously was your experience.)
Highlights of the programs:
- Active, engaged mentors who both really care about the craft of writing, and understand the fragile egos/minds/hearts of aspiring writers.
- OH YEAH and they're all MASSIVELY commercially successful, too - this aspect of mentorship, so often neglected in creative fields, is VITAL (at least, when you're like me and frankly enjoy having money more than you enjoy being broke - see above mentions of Wall Street.)
- Detailed, in-depth course material that is designed to supplement any gaps in your writing education, while also teaching practical skills for self-improvement and taking you step-by-step through the process of creating a well-planned, commercially viable story from scratch.
- Golden Hour methodology. This is what I referenced earlier when saying I've lost weight and my health/social habits have improved. Getting up first thing in the morning (for me, that's 4:30 AM) and writing with my best/freshest creative energy has been a total game changer for me. The corollary is that once I'm up, I'm up - I've already exercised my brain! That kickstarts my routine, so I am able to move seamlessly into a good morning: exercising the rest of me, consuming a healthy breakfast, and getting out the door early enough to ensure a stress-free commute to the city for my day job. Socially, it means that at the end of my day, I know I'm facing a wide-open 4:30 wakeup call; this means I'm forgoing late-night happy hours full of booze & junk food for walks in the park, cups of tea, time outside!
TL, DR: DO THIS IF YOU WANT TO BE A WRITER. You won't regret it.

Excellent program. Valuable support, encouragement, and tools. If you trust the process, you'll get the results you want.
