Pure theft

Got a 50$ gift card a little more than a year ago, there's 5$ left because there's apparently been a 3$ a month maintenance charge. Which isn't mentioned anywhere on the card I got. How is this legal, it's just pure theft 100%, can't wait for the inevitable collective action against these criminals.

VISA charged interest on the balance of cash on the card

VISA charges interest on the cash balance. That's right, the cash balance not moneys owed but cash given. If you don't use it balance of the gift ASAP your left with nothing. Garbage gift, would not recommend. We all give enough to VISA. This is making a cash donation to them on behalf of a friend or loved one.

We got bunch pf gift cards for our engagement party back in 2017 and kept them for a day we move to new house to use them; so, CAD$600 from Vanilla company and they all replaced without any issue, but CAD$300 from the perfect gift , and same as other mentioned, they said the card is 0 balance due to monthly maintenance fee of $3; SCAM, BRIBERY, THEFT, FRAUD.
Get the gift card (Visa or Master) from those marked as Vanilla; they will reactivate for you just with a small activation fee years after expiring

“The perfect gift” is a very deceiving…

“The perfect gift” is a very deceiving name, bought 4, 25$ cards last year and decided to finally use them. When I went to pay for my items the cards were all declined, so I called customer service and they charge 3 dollars/per month so the cards were all empty before the sealed packages were even opened. I’ve never felt like I’ve wasted 115$ more in my life. Thanks for the terrible experience

I purchased “theperfectgift.ca” gift…

I purchased “theperfectgift.ca” gift card because it said on the package that “funds never expires”. Opened it after a year to use it. Card blocked and customer service said they charged fees to maintain card! Which I never used it. Asked to escalate the issue as they were advertised it by misleading people. No answer on that. Be careful when you want to buy their scam card.

Some gift card they take three dollars…

Some gift card they take three dollars a month from you for the months you’re not using it because they feel like they can so you don’t use it for a year or they take 25 dollars from you
Plus, you pay tax in an activation fee when you buy it and then you pay tax on your items to holy

Received $300 from my boss

Received $300 from my boss. Waited a year to open it and the card is locked. Called customer service and the guy told me the card is compromised. I literally just opened it and the sticker is blocking the card number also the card can not be used before activation so this mean this gift card company is totally a scam.

I never received the card. I called customer service after one week and was assured that it would arrive any day. Another week has gone by and I still have not received it.

It is a complete scam

It is a complete scam. I got it as a gift and did not know there was a date limit. Called a few days after expiration and the funds were no longer available. My daughter's lost the money. So sad that Visa and Master Card allows this to happen.

The absolute worst idea for a gift to…

The absolute worst idea for a gift to someone you care about. I was given a retirement gift of a Visa Gift Card for $500. I held on to it, unopened, for 5-6 months before deciding on what I wanted to buy. Should be no issue with expiry as it was good for two years. Lo and behold, when the retailer opened the package and scanned the card, it had only $12 and change on it. Huh?

I went to the website to find out what the issue was and it seems someone fraudulently used the card - which, remember was unopened, a few days before I tried to. They spend all but $12 on the card.

I challenged the charge through the website and it too just under 2 months for the issue to resolved and the money returned. The communication with the company was not at all reassuring but rather, 'we'll investigate' and then at the end, we've made a decision and it's final! Fortunately, it was the right decision, but there's customer service is brutal.

I will never again use Theperfectgift for Gift Cards and high-recommend that you don't either.

Robbery!!

If I could give this a zero I would. I received 2 gifts cards from work worth $75 they are now worth $11! They are not near their expiry dates but apparently they have a monthly fee of $3 per month! For what??!! They are gift cards! I just registered them and the expiry dates are serval months away. Why have expiry dates if your going to take money for me just having the card? Its ridiculous! Don't purchase these cards!

Stay Away From This Company!

Absolutely mad I bought one for $75. I went to pay for something on Amazon and the payment wouldn't go through. I checked the balance it was at zero dollars. Someone charged a Paypal 5 times that's why I'm out $75 and nothing from Amazon. Stay away from this company "The Perfect Gift" by far you don't get "The Perfect Gift". I wouldn't be so mad if the card was for $25, but $75!!!! You can't even reach customer service.

GIFT CARDS COME WITH EXPIRY DATES AND FEES ...BEWARE

They come with EXPIRY DATES! This is a GIFT..maybe. If the person you give it to does not use before the expiry date all monies are lost and even before expiry date they are charged fees so depending on amount it could be worth nothing by the time they go to use it or less than the face value. SCREAMS SCAM TO ME. COMPANIES making money by scamming people out of their money. WILL GIVE CASH FROM NOW ON. $200.00 will remain $200.00 for as long as person keeps it. Out of $200 in gift cards we have $132.00 left
Called and was told they would not replace expired card per terms and conditions...free money for them
