Unortunately, there's no zero stars option. As per the ads, they help you find a place to live, so you send your requirements (location, budget, conditions) and they "match" properties so you will have your options available. They booked 2 appointments for me but only address, no contact number or who to ask for. I felt very mistreated by the agent. Conditions were not clear (how on earth someone showing a property is unsure of whether council tax included in the rent?) Also, they are so dodgy as they say if you are interested in a property, they would negotiate with the landlord for you.
It sounded too good to be true. They take advantage of people who are desperate for accommodation.
They will not refund the fees. It is an embarrassing SCAM

This isn’t a scam but not a wise choice in hindsight. They find places that can easily be found by yourself on Gumtree or other platforms.
First place that I was told to see was a property that I had seen the week before, doing my own research. The second was the same.
It’s a one man operation and not very helpful tbh, but I don’t think it’s from not wanting to help, seems more like he has a lot to handle but shows in the service.

I would defo recommend this service, especially to people that have a very busy schedule because they are doing all the hard work for you. They found a place for me in less than a week and everything went very smoothly. Staff is very friendly and patient answering all the questions I had. Placefinde, you are wonderful! Thank you very much, I will definitely use your service again!

They are scamming people out of money by posting non existent ads on Spareroom /Gumtree.

Filled report with police so this useless man will be arrested soon.

Theplacefinder is a big scam Please don’t loose your money and West your time, his one guy who’s operating the scamming website and he keep sending me viewing address which is wrong when I called him back he didn’t answer and he keep doing the same thing.i never viewed any property at all.
it out there a lot of websites free of charge and you I’ll get a lot property and nice costumer service,so be careful of this scammer

It's a legal scamming company they are a liar and a thief, the authority need to step in, this company is nothing but unscrupulous thief.

So thankful I read these reviews before agreeing to pay to view- which immediately got my back up. I don't care how you try and phrase that this is a membership bla bla bla- by searching the Internet we find the property not you, happy days it's on your website site- but why is it on another website too and with an even higher membership fee? Stop scaming innocent people looking for a roof to cover their heads in an already expensive city like London.

Its scam everyone i promise they sent me a message to go a see a 1 bedroom when i got there no one was there to meet me so i nocked on the door of the house innocent family opened the door and didn't have clue what i was talking about...
And then when i called them they blocked me.

A deeply manipulative money grabbing firm. This is the least of what I intend for this company. Currently, I am a key worker dealing with 4 hours travel time a day to provide a service during lock-down.
I asked these guys if they were still viewing - this is after lock-down ease allowed them to do so. The reply was 'yes' but with mask, gloves etc....I registered with budget details, geographical preference in accordance with their ads on Gumtree, and responded to ads relating to budget studios which I now believe don't exist. Two appointments made were cancelled followed by an email telling me that properties in my budget were only being viewed during weekdays 9-5.
I was invited to apply for rooms or to increase my budget in order to have viewings at the times I told them at onset I was only able to commit to.Their customer service is insane. Apparently - the properties advertised and those you root for are only available to view when you are not available. Your availability is noted only to have appointments made to cancel them, for the company to offer you properties outside of your range at the times you are available to view.
Avoid.

This is a total scam! They advertise the same studios but they don’t have them! Be aware and don’t give 50 quids in advance to these ROMANIAN SCAMMERS

I would definitely recommend this service especially to people that have a busy schedule as they are doing all the hard work for you. They found me a place within a week and everything went smoothly. *Do not use. They charge to send you viewings, which are advertised free via bargainbedsits.com. They also use fake ads with "DSS considered"- these properties are with Bartlett group, not placefinder & they do not accept DSS.
They also lie their way out; saying these are their sister companies- they are not. This is confirmed with all the above mentioned companies.
(You are also entitled to a refund via the trade description act, just get advice from your local citizen's advice bureau).

You pay placefinder, your only contact is an answering machine that records your message, landlords do not come for the viewing and when somebody apperas he is an agent from Bartlett (different agency) changing the initial rent prices and imposing new regulations for the property. Spacelet is also involved in the same way as other people i met experienced the same bad behavior. spacelet-placefinder-bartlett are the same trying to make money by fooling people and lying in their adverts.

The Place Finder are useless, don't waste your money. All they are doing is supplying the same landlord list that other agents are using, which are available publicly. I had better information provided to me by one of the other similar agents, even though I didn't have to pay them for the information. Forget using theplacefinder, go elsewhere for a better service and more available properties. I think the place finder just obtains the list from the others anyway and then charges you.

I think my money was stolen from me.
After l paid, they emailed me with addresses to go and check.
1. The adresses were mistaken. After l called and called, they sent me the right ones. BUT
2. After l checked, there was a very unhelpful woman there who said that l could never rent the apartment because l needed to do so for a whole year. But when l paid the Placefinder, l made it clear that l needed it for only two weeks.
3. When l tried to contact the placefinder to find a solution for me. They never answered the phone and they EVEN BLOCKED my email address.
Never ever try to use this website everyone.

My experience with The Placefinder has been excellent. As this was my first time renting in London, they explained the whole process and everything went smoothly. Would definitely recommend.

To be honest I was a bit unsure because I have to admit that I checked the reviews first about them and not all of them were nice. I tried elsewhere first which was a waste of two weeks but whenever I emailed theplacefinder they always answer to my mail very quickly and the guy I had on the phone really did his best to find me a place to match my expectations, knowing that at the same time I receive suitable rooms + studios available every day with a slot to visit them and actually he found me a place which was even better than what I was expected and at a really really good price ! (more space than my previous place, the area was better as well and the price so cheap as there is not any hidden fee). A friend recommended me and I’ll definitely recommend it to someone else! Thank you

This company is a scam! It has a great website, you speak to people on the phone and emails and appears so good! Until you pay your money upfront and then they are gone! Don't be part of the statistics and when the advert looks too good to be true it is!

This is a scam, folks. Do not pay any money, it's all illegal. Let's get together and take them to court. They are thieves!!!!
