I recently attended a weekend retreat with Fiona Brennan of The Positive Habit, alongside her husband Ciaran, and it was such a positive and meaningful experience.
The retreat focused on choosing a “lifestyle pillar” to support your future wellbeing—whether that’s sleep, exercise, relationships, or nutrition. I found this approach really practical and empowering, giving me something clear to take away and build on in my everyday life.
The setting in Bellinter House in Navan was beautiful—peaceful, comfortable, and the perfect environment to switch off. The weekend was thoughtfully structured, with a lovely mix of activities including a walk on Tara Hill, mindfulness sessions, yoga, sound baths, and group discussions. Everything flowed really well and never felt rushed.
The group size was just right—small enough to feel personal but large enough to connect with different people. Everyone was incredibly friendly and open, and it was a great reminder that we all have our own stories. I was quite nervous about attending on my own, but that feeling disappeared very quickly.
Fiona and Ciaran were fantastic hosts—genuine, supportive, and clearly passionate about helping people. They created a warm, safe space where everyone felt comfortable to share and reflect.
A real highlight was the thermal spa area in Bellinter House—so relaxing and a perfect addition to the weekend. The food was also delicious and added to the overall experience.
I’m so glad I pushed myself to go despite feeling nervous beforehand. I left feeling calmer, more focused, and with tools I can actually use going forward. I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking to reset, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

Having been to a lot of psychologists throughout the years and gotten some relief for my depression and anxiety I never shook off that extreme self loathing I had for myself, in fact I didn't realize I was so self critical until I started doing The Positive Habit online course. I am so aware of myself, my thoughts and the world around me. I know my triggers, have self compassion and am learning how to take care of myself which spreads positivity all around. This course is brilliant! I recently listened to ‘The Positive Habit’ audiobook and have just finished reading ‘The Self Love Habit’. Listening to the audios, reading the books and doing this course has really shifted my mindset for the better. I’m so grateful Fiona has made this information accessible, I think it’s so important and I wish everyone would do it. Though of course not everyone is into this personal development side, but these are life skills I wish I’d known or been more familiar with in my twenties and thirties. A really clear way to change your neural pathways and begin getting the most out of your life.
Highly recommend, just completed the course and can say my mindset has certainly improved. I'm much more aware of how to reframe my thoughts and to focus on the positive. I started after having a couple of panic attacks and only learned I have anxiety, this course was a massive contributor to me turning my mindset. I've not had a panic attack and feel more empowered and confident dealing with anxiety.
