I bought a spare cover for my therapy blanket. Because I live in Highlands, despite being on the UK mainland I was charged more for postage than the cost of the cover - around £30. I can understand... See more

Ripped off with refund

I sent back a blanket which was too heavy with the intention of purchasing a blanket which was lighter. It goes without saying that a blanket of 12kg cannot be handled without touching the carpet. I received an email saying that the blanket had "hair" on it with attached photos. The attached photos showed small carpet fibres which could have been picked up anywhere. I was then told that they would give me a full refund as long as I purchased a lighter blanket with them. After spending $40 to return the blanket I would not recommend giving your business to Therapy Blanket when there are more reputable weighted blanket companies out there.

more than awesome! Best sleep in months 💤❤️

Just used the blanket for first time last night. Best sleep in months! Plan to buy more for my clients to use for relaxation at end of yoga classes. The blanket arrived super fast & really happy I chose this brand. I did lots of research as some blankets from some country’s can be toxic. I found the top 5 in the uk & was drawn to this brand. Love that it’s all year round due to the cover being reversible. The fact it can be washed is awesome too. Have shouted about it in Facebook too. Thanks guys. Vanessa, Edinburgh x

Great product

Ordered a Therapy blanket and cover. Both very nice. Actually ordered for my son who is autistic but dislike being touched.....so a bit of a gamble. I tried it out last night and may keep it for myself. Great night`s sleep. Very cosy but strangely didn't feel hot.

Felt strange to begin with

Felt strange to begin with, the weight of the blanket but then it feels like a warm hug as you drift off to sleep, perfect!

So pleased with this blanket

So pleased with this blanket. Had been thinking about buying a weighted blanket for some time but put off by cost and purchasing without seeing. So glad I finally did. This one is great quality. Like the zip inside cover, the fact it has removable and washable cover and the material choice being different fabrics on either side. My son finds it very calming and comfortable.

It really is very relaxing

It really is very relaxing. Puts me in a very deep sleep quickly. My husband was very sceptical, thought I was mad to spend so much money on a blanket filled with beads, but after trying it once he now wants his own! It’s also good quality, and easy to fit the cover and to remove.

Read my review before you buy this product.

I liked the idea of this product. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. The order was lost during delivery. I had to chase it up a couple of times. My blanket turned up about ten days after I ordered it.

Putting the cover on was not easy. There were no instructions and the blanket is actually difficult to manipulate due to the weight of it. Some colour coded ties would help the process or a label saying zip this end to this end if you know what I mean. The blanket doesn't zip in all the way around so it comes away from the cover at the top and has to be fixed throughout the night.

The blanket is only 122 cm wide. A single quilt is about 135 cm wide. I like to wrap my quilt around me when I sleep. That is not possible with this blanket. There always seemed to be a part of me that wasn't covered. Another problem is that the quilt falls off me when I roll over, so I then have to lift it back on many times a night. This is not easy with a 9 kg blanket. So I experienced the opposite of a restful nights sleep.

These problems mean that I can't get comfortable and my £160 blanket is now on the floor being used as a dog bed.

Reply from Therapy Blanket

Hi Julie,

I'm sorry that you feel that way. Unfortunately a small percentage of items do get lost in transit every year and it's something that is out of our control as we do not own the courier companies. We use DPD and have had a very good success rate with getting items delivered on time with them (you can just look at all of our positive reviews on here praising our quick delivery service). In fact, this is our first 2 star review we've ever received which is why I'm personally responding to this, as I'm quite shocked about this.

However, we did send a replacement blanket after the investigation deemed that it was lost in transit and feel that it's a little unfair as we've done everything in our power to get your blanket to you in a timely manner.

I'd like to address several of your points in your review:

1. Colour coded labels - this is a fair point that they could be implemented to make it simpler to understand. However, we haven't had many other customers find any difficulty with getting the cover onto the blanket and most have told us how genius the design is. We're also able to send illustrative instructions for anyone who does need some extra help with getting the cover onto the blanket

2. The blanket not zipping all the way around - our Smartzip system uses a zip on each long side of the blanket and cover to join the 2 together. We actually have experimented with trying to implement using a zip on all 4 sides but found that having 2 long zips was more practical and pragmatic. We also implemented 12 internal fasteners in the form of ties and loops so that even the 2 shorter sides can still be firmly attached to the cover. We're also the only brand on the market to offer a SmartZip design and something that many of our other customers have praised us for when comparing to low quality weighted blankets they've purchased elsewhere.
With this in mind - I'd like to recommend that you ensure that the internal fasteners are tied to keep all sides of the blanket firmly attached to the cover

3. Size - this is a fair point as it's your personal preference to have a larger weighted blanket. However, we chose this size as a weighted blanket is designed to cover the human body, resting on top of the body and applying even pressure. The larger the blanket, the heavier it needs to be as the weight gets dispersed over a larger surface area. We experimented with many different sizes and eventually decided to phase out the larger sizes as the single Adult size was found to suit the majority of people out there.

4. I've checked your order and you actually paid £149 for it, rather than £160 as you wrote in your review. However, that is besides the point - we do offer a 30 day returns period as we understand that a weighted blanket is not for everyone. You are able to contact our support team at support@therapybrand.co.uk

I'm not dismissing your review and your points are still valid. It's just that every story has 2 sides, and I wanted to share our side of the story for anyone reading this.

Regards,
Andrew
