Excellent Customer Support

I had a problem with a recently purchased product from The Real Leather Company and reached out to their Customer Support Center using the company link. To my surprise, I was contacted that same day. The Representative (Liz) was very prompt and thorough in all the communications and the issue was satisfactorily resolved in a very short period of time. There is no question in my mind The Real Leather Company stands behind their product and after this experience, I will not hesitate to purchase from them again.

My order was processed quickly &…

My order was processed quickly & product received 10 days. I was disappointed in the additional charge for shipping 30.00 CDN, since, they claim to not ship to Vancouver BC & it was out of their delivery/shipping area. So, I agreed to the extra charges. So, then 3 weeks after I received my bag, I got a BILL from FEDEX for an additional 18.00 to charge me for duty fees. Now I am in a dispute with FEDEX. I sent a copy of my invoice from the Real Leather Co, ( which I now find out the bag came direct from somewhere in China - not Texas USA) showing that I had already paid the extra. Now I am waiting on FEDEX reply.

Worth Every Cent!

I wanted a nice bag for college, and this bag is the perfect thing! Every piece of the bag is made of quality material, the design is thoughtful, and the overall product is visually delightful. I can tell that considerable thought was put into the design of the interior and exterior pouches: there is an easily accessible pouch or holder for every sort of thing I might want to carry with me. I can't wait to use it when classes start! This bag is so much better than the cheap 80-dollar bags I was looking at on Amazon, and I know it'll last me far longer. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted a real leather satchel, and this bag is exactly how I dreamed it would be!

Excellent Customer Service, too!

I bought a bag from The Real Leather Company a while back. I really loved the design and convenience. When I had a minor issue with it, the company stood behind their product even though it was no longer under warranty. Liz and the others in Customer Service were kind and receptive. Would I buy another product from The Real Leather Company? I plan on it.

Two zippers failed in just under two…

Two zippers failed in just under two years on a $200+ bag. One lost a tooth and the other has a tooth that engages but separates with movement. Now the bag comes open and contents spill out. Just terrible.

Company does not stand by products

After owning this bag for less than a year, the lining tore badly. I brought this to the company's attention to see what could be done and they told me several things I found unacceptable.
First, there is only a 30 day return policy. There is no workmanship warranty and the extended warranty you can buy when you purchase is 1 year only.
Second, they said this was normal wear and tear. I have owned bags for close to 40 years and I have never seen issues like this.
I am well aware that I did not pay a lot for the bag relatively. However, although I did not expect great I didnt expect garbage either.

We are sorry to hear that this has happened to your bag. However, upon reviewing the photos you have sent to us after contacting our customer support, it looks like something significant happened to your bag that has severely damaged it. This is not covered within our policy.

Our company prides itself on the quality of our bags. Looking at the photos you have provided, we are convinced that there is no manufacturing defect or quality issue. Please be advised that we only replace a bag if the complaint is due to a manufacturing defect or quality issue within our guarantee period. This service is not available when the damage was performed by the customer.

This ticket has been escalated to leadership and they are satisfied we have followed all our policies here.

Fantastic leather product and great customer service

First let me say the leather backpacks are nice quality. I bought one for my grandson as a graduation gift. He decided he might like a smaller better. Liz was able to walk me through the entire process of returning and selecting another. Without her, I would have been frustrated because I needed a refund quickly before ordering the replacement. Time was extremely important. Liz responded to my emails promptly and eased my stress. I may need to buy me something because I was so expressed with customer service and product quality.

Returned a bag to them over a month…

Update. The Real Leather Company had my review taken down because they claimed it to be harmful or illegal. Trust Pilot reviewed and needless to say put the review back online. Please do not buy from The real leather company.

Update, on April 14th they emailed to note that the return was not in the original packaging. I responded with, yes it is, I just opened it to inspect the bag. Today they emailed stating that the box I sent was empty.

Returned a bag to them over a month ago. They will not process my return because the warehouse can't verify my return. Bag was return original packaging. BBB gives them a D review. Do not buy from them.

As communicated in our direct correspondence, there was an incident that led to this dispute. As you are aware, our warehouse reported, with evidence, that the return received from you contained an empty box. This is against our return policies and is not an occasion for which we can provide a refund. We felt our request at this time to have Trustpilot take down this review was adequate as we did not feel this review accurately depicted an accurate customer experience.

Thankfully, you were then able to provide a return receipt which showed that when you shipped the return, the weight of the box indicated that the item was present in the box. We've been unable to get to the bottom of why it then appeared at our warehouse without the item. We've had to put that down to an unfortunate incident that must have happened along the way with the courier. This is extremely unfortunate and the first time we've seen this happen.

We then of course provided you a full refund and processed the loss of inventory on our side. We wish to apologize for the delay profusely and the extremely difficult inconvenience here.

Retro Bag and replacement strap support

I ordered “The Retro,” Messenger bag two years ago and absolutely love it and use it as my daily work bag. Recently, after overloading the bag, the metal clasp on the strap broke. When I reached out to see about ordering a new strap, Liz was able to help me get a replacement strap in the original color of my bag which isn’t even being run anymore. I was blown away at the prompt and excellent support I received. I will definitely continue shopping here in the future.

Innovative customer service

Overall the customer service group and Liz, in particular, were prompt, accurate and innovative. I was searching for an item that was not in their on line catalog. After some email correspondence Liz was able to come with a solution that suited me very well.

Great Gift, Real People

The lap top bags have made perfect gifts for our daughters when they graduated college. It was helpful for them to look professional by losing their college backpacks and carry an impressive leather laptop bag into their new workplace. Broke in a month, didn’t quite look as advertised but that’s honestly fair because of how leather is

So it definitely didn’t look as advertised, it was extremely delayed getting here, and while walking down the street, one of the buckles broke! Then, as I was googling a cobbler or other skilled local who could help fix my bag which I loved so dearly, the second buckle broke! Not caught on anything, just flat broke off. The staples which connect the loop to the buckles just bent out of place. They both broke in the exact same way. Honestly, I’d love a replacement or a fix, because as painful as this experience was, the bag was beautiful, and I could tell the intent was to make something of value, it just didn’t work out because of(I think) one poor design decision. I respect the artistry, and while my review on the website wasn’t as kindly worded, the fact of the matter still stands, it broke almost immediately, less than a month of use (it was only gifted to me when I visited for christmas, which occurred around new years, and I only got around to transferring my stuff over two or three weeks after).
By the way, I know this review is late, I’m a busy person, so I didn’t think to leave one until recently. Thanks for your time.

Regarding the delayed delivery, please be aware that the purchase was made during the peak of the Christmas season where some packages were delayed due to high volume. We can see that your order was delivered within 10 days from the order date.
