Good perfumes - poor service
I love the perfumes, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I signed up for marketing emails, and keep getting vouchers for £25 off a full bottle. This would be great, as I love a lot of the scents, but the vouchers don't work, showing as 'invalid'. This was very disappointing after I spent time choosing which one to buy, only to find that the offer did not apply.
I contacted customer service and was offered a personalised discount, which also never arrived. As the discount was only valid for 24 hours, I sat on email waiting for it to come, but it never did - again, very disappointing.
A while later, amongst numerous other marketing messages which seem to arrive every couple of days, I got another email offering a £25 code, and the same thing happened - it is invalid. Again, I contacted customer service and they said they could offer me a personal discount, and to let them know if I wanted it (?). 2 days later, this has not arrived either. I wonder if these personalised discounts exist, or if they are a way of fobbing off people complaining about the emailed ones.
Why not just send the code (if they ever intended to do so) instead of asking me to let them know if I would like it, building in another layer of communication? If I didn't want it I wouldn't have contacted them about the invalid one, and in any case I needn't use it if I don't want it. I don't expect it will ever arrive, and the lack of consideration shown by customer service is putting me off ordering again.
What a find (I'll have to visit Ramsgate now!)
I first heard of this company via a Facebook ad and as I stay clear of any ads on Facebook I ignored them.
After seeing the ads numerous times I actually liked the look of the discovery set, so I thought I'd google them to see what comes up. I was pleasantly surprised to see they have an actual shop in Ramsgate (which looks lovely).
The website was easy to navigate it offers perfumes, candles, soaps and diffusers (the physical store also has clothes/accessories/jewellery from what I can see).
Its also good to know the products are all natural and not tested on animals.
I went ahead and ordered the discovery set for £29 (free postage hurray!) Confirmation and tracking number received the same day. 3 Days later my package arrived. Amazing service.
The box they arrived in is so cute and well thought out, 10 2ml bottles of beautiful fragrances, a booklet describing each fragrance and a good amount of tester strips, and the £25 voucher which is valid for 12 months on full/travel sized items.
I've not tried them all yet but those I have tried have stayed all day. I will be taking them on my upcoming cruise, different one for each day, happy days.
My only gripe is I missed out on the new Trio sample
being sent with all new orders
Highley recommend and I'll be buying more.
Cheap disgusting scents
Ordered the discovery set, took ages to arrive . Was really excited to receive it as a digital creator with thousands of followers I started videos of the unboxing with a view to reviewing each perfume. One was missing and another was duplicated so went into customer chat online where I asked for the FREE set of 3 samples which was currently on offer to be sent to me as a gesture of goodwill and they refused. I asked the name of the customer service advisor as this isn't visible on the chat and I was ignored. Upon trying the 9 fragrances I received, they all smelled of alcohol badly and smelt cheap. Every single one gave me a headache. Awful products and even worse customer service . Don't waste your money.
Another 5 star
Another 5 star fragrance L'Orangerie is sweet and long lasting. Perfect for summer.
Love the Discovery Set
Love the Discovery Set - an excellent way to trial ten different scents, which are travel-friendly and great for different occasions. I love the fact that these are vegan, not tested on animals and free of nasties, while smelling delicious and lasting, unlike other brands. The presentation is luxurious, making for lovely gifts.
De la mer
What an excellent company. Outstanding customer service. Incredible fragrances that last on your skin all day. Im obsessed with De la mer. If you love an oceanic vibe...this is gorgeous and bold.
Great
Brought the discovery set and how lovely are these. Carnt make my mind up what I like best but Oud Harmony & Brown Sugar come out tops so far. I wanted to try L'Orangie but it wasn't included instead I had two Sufari.
Great Scents But and a big BUT
Great Scents But and a big BUT,
For me, the scents are good, but "almost" every perfume from the discovery set is a dupe of bigger brands.
Unlike similar companies, which openly state this on their sites as dupes (not fake) and sell these at a fraction of what Saltworks is selling for. As an example, Aromas Havannah is a dupe of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille & Tubac Solilei has a very similar scent.
They are, however, the only company that has almost nailed the Chanel Bleu similarity with Infinity.
I think the discovery set is an…
I think the discovery set is an absolutely brilliant idea. Inexpensive trial of multiple quite delicious scents, which exactly as the ad says I’m always being asked “wow I love your perfume what is it?”
The negative reviews about it just blow my mind. If the perfumes are not to your particular nasal taste, fine, don’t buy a big bottle with your £25 off voucher. Why is there the need to leave a negative review. I mean someone’s moaning because the box is GREEN. What planet are you people on. You decided to buy something, that the majority of other people in the world love. If for some reason you don’t, it was worth the try! Take accountability for your own actions of deciding to buy it. Why is it then someone else’s fault if you turn out not to want to buy a big bottle of the perfumes in the trial box. Weirdos!
Anyway. Saltworks, I love your discovery set and I’ve just bought another one so that I could try Surfari, and yes I loved it so once I am running low on Ko Meme (which has lasted well over a year) I will purchase Surfari next. THANKYOU.
Fell for the fb hard sell…
Yet again with this sort of perfume company, I fell for the online sales pitch and ordered a discovery box. The perfumes smell very ordinary and cheap to me. I have used them all and only one stood out, the others all smelling very similar and none being worth the price of a big bottle even with the £25 voucher. Also dislike that even slightly negative comments are removed from the ridiculously fake fb ads.
Dishonest company
Dishonest company with dreadful customer service. They claimed their discount voucher codes were “stackable”, but it turned out at the checkout stage that they weren’t. I explained their “mistake” to them, but their response to me showed they didn’t care. I don’t trust them at all, hence this one star review on Trustpilot.
So disappointed
So disappointed, had a trial size and loved one of the scents, brought a 10ml, smells different and not as strong, thankfully I didn’t by full size bottle and only wasted £25
Overfilled so leaked everywhere
New bottle arrived, upon first spray it leaked everywhere, an overload of essential oil perfume on hands and clothes is both overpowering and harmful, especially when not organic. It took days for the smell to go.
Apparently they overfill the bottles sometimes and this happens! Not impressed with Customer service at all.
Website typos and grammatical errors.
I haven’t ordered anything from this company as I question their professionalism.
The website has both grammatical errors and spelling issues and despite me contacting the company, this has not been addressed. The website is their shop window and I find this lack of attention to detail disappointing.
Don't be drawn in by the advertising!
I purchased two different discovery sets as I was new to perfume and didn't know where to start . The sets were delivered promptly and nicely packaged. The booklet amused me as it is obviously supposed to be fancy but seems to have been written by AI.
Most of the scents were quite offensive to my nose, some I had to scrub off. There were a couple that I will use up the samples of but probably won't buy again. In general they smell artificial, cheap, and not well blended.
I am fussy about scents but I know now what notes I generally like, and the Saltworks ones that I should like in theory just smell awful.
The perfumes smell cheap
The perfumes smell cheap, powdery and unpleasant. I bought the Discovery set for women, was offered a discount for a mens set, went to click to see what was included and it was added directly to my purchase without any step to ok paying for it. Or any way to cancel it. So I've now got £47.00 of awful perfume to go in the bin. Packaging is lovely but that's not the point of a perfume.
Amazingly good customer service and I loved the perfumes
I had a minor problem with my trial box, brought it to the attention of customer services and it was resolved within 2 hours. Really amazing customer service. Personally I found several perfumes I would be happy to wear, and we have to bear in mind that a perfume often reacts differently on ‘different skins’. I particularly loved Lady Marmalade. It is very close to how I remember Aqua Manda. I will definitely order once I have gone through the samples again. Wouldn’t want to waste them!
Great variety of perfumes together with excellent customer service
I ordered a discovery set and had a query, which was very promptly answered by customer services, who were fantastic. Trouble is, even though the booklet tells you to take your time, I got so excited trying the perfumes, I can't remember which ones I liked the best. There were some that I wasn't so keen on, but at least half of them I would happily wear. I have just ordered the fresh discovery set before I decide on the ones to use my vouchers for. I already plan to gift sets to my family for Christmas. They will love them and are great stocking fillers imo.
Arrived promptly - BUT
Arrived promptly, neatly packaged although appears masculine with such a dark green box. I am so disappointed as I stupidly believed the hype on this Discovery experience set. Nothing remarkable about any of them - in fact they are reminiscent of the cheap body sprays you can get at SD (cheap drugstore). The sillage is nothing special. I wouldn’t waste any more money on this company which is such a shame as I really liked the concept.
Saltworks discovery sets are a perfect…
Saltworks discovery sets are a perfect introduction to a variety of great fragrances from this company.
The scents are long lasting and complement any occasion from summers days, evenings out and everyday wear.
I have a few favourites and receive many comments of how nice I smell when wearing Saltworks fragrances.
They are reasonably priced for the full sized bottles and the discovery sets which make great gifts.
Massive fan of Saltworks never thought I would be swayed from high end colognes but I most definitely am.
