I was replacing some very old sash windows and changing the design of another window in the same room in a conservation area. Soundproof windows differentiated themselves from the start with the rigour of the estimation processing explanation of product. They were also competitively priced for the quality of the window. There were some delays (from my side and from material availability) but the communication was very honest and proactive throughout, with payments adjusted sensitively to match. I was away for the actual installation but there was praise from my neighbours! I'm very pleased with the final product, finish and how the room was left. I would recommend the company and absolutely consider them for future window replacements.

I would highly recommend The Soundproof Windows. We live in a Georgian cottage right next to a rail line. The noise when trains pass can be terrible and screechy, and was often waking me up early in the morning when the trains started for the day. Other companies came in and gave quotes for cheap aluminium frames and said they couldn't do much about the noise in any case. And then Sebastian came round. He was helpful and informative and said he believed he could reduce our noise by about 70%. And he was completely right. I now sleep straight through the night and the trains are reduced to a background noise. Every other noise (foxes, traffic etc) is eliminated completely. On top of this, the windows look classy and beautiful. The installation guys were great too. If you have sound issues, go for The Soundproof Windows 100%.

I live in a mansion block located in a conservation area in Fulham dating back to early 900’s. It’s a rather quiet road but I am very sensitive to unnecessary noises like those coming from possessed kids walking to and from school (why they scream so much it blows my mind), black cab drivers leaving their engine idling while getting paid (glad the majority is moving to electric vehicles) and home delivery scooters (are you all so lazy that you cannot cook something at home?). Not to mention the foxes in the nearby land who make all sort of noises once the darkness falls including squealing, howling, gekkering and screaming. The latter are not humans plus they make me feel as I’m not living in a big metropolis like London so I have come to peace with that. For all the above, last September, together with another resident in the same block, we decided to replace our windows with like for like wooden double glazed acoustic ones. We gathered several quotes and visited numerous shops but we couldn’t find anyone able to replicate the existing features (horns, hinges, width, etc). Then finally we come across Alice and Sebastian from The Soundproof Windows and it was like a breath of fresh air. We explained to them that we were dealing with an extremely difficult managing agent and board of directors who were trying at all costs to convince us to avoid replacing the windows and opting for the refurbishment option. Their concern was that replacing the frames would have had a detrimental effect on the look of the building. For this reason Sebastian came 4 times to my flat to make sure the measurements were correct and he even sent one of his guys to remove a piece of the exterior windows trim to make sure they could find the exact match. Also they were the only contractors able to replicate the original windows horns. My job was was more challenging because I had 2 casement windows with leaded glass panels on the top. Sebastian sent me one of his guy who drew the leaded lights pattern using a pencil and paper.
At that point, we felt very comfortable in appointing them to do the job. The installation took about a week for 4 windows, 2 sash and 2 casements, and went very smoothly. The surveyor who came to inspect the windows, this was imposed to us by the managing agent, was impressed with the final result, he couldn’t tell the difference from the outside. I’m extremely pleased with the windows, first of all they are beautiful to look at, which for me is a very important factor but they also hugely reduce the noise from the outside. I forgot to mention that my block is under the flight path to LHR and there are times of the day when planes can be quite annoying. With the windows closed I barely hear them. I cannot recommend Sebastian and his team more, they are skilled, honest, friendly, hard working professionals who helped me sorting in the best possible way a big issue that I had been dealing since I bought my flat in 2011. Very pleased with the windows and shutters I recently bought from Soundproof Windows. The quality of workmanship and professional service was top notch. As Sebastian told me, the windows do not deaden every noise but make a huge difference to the room, enabling me to use it as a workspace for which peace and quiet is essential. The 4* rather than 5* review is not to do with the quality of the product, just that the lead time was long and there was a big delay on the shutters. Not their fault but communication could have been better during the waiting time. I would definitely recommend this company to others for the quality and professional service.

Our experience with 'the soundproof windows' was excellent. The two installers were great, very professional, they kept the site clean after each day and the final finished product was brilliant.

We replaced 7 windows in our home with Soundproof Windows. Not only do they significantly reduce the noise from the street and from neighbours in their gardens or on their balconies (and hence our life and sleep quality), they also give our home a much more modern and elegant look. The entire team was extremely friendly, reliable and did a fantastic job. We highly recommend them and will certainly be very happy to hire them again in the future.

We have just had the 51dB 'tilt and turn' windows installed in our bedrooms. We live in a flat in central London, and it can be extremely noisy at times. Our neighbours often have loud parties on their balcony, which wakes us up. The new windows are amazing - they block out the sounds completely. We can no longer hear the neighbourhood sounds - the windows are even better than I had expected.

I can highly recommend The Soundproof Windows to anyone who is suffering from traffic noise. It has transformed our bedroom and living environment.

We are situated on a B road which has busses, lorries and high volumes of car and scooter traffic, about 4 meters away from our bedroom on the first floor. There were double glazed PVC windows originally installed which were very ineffective at keeping out noise, to the point it was difficult to just be in that room.

We opted for the triple glazed 51db units after Sebastian expertly advised what each product would do. They are expensive (we have rather large windows too) but you really do get what you pay for and the quality is outstanding.

Now, cars are barely noticeable and even buses can pass without noticing on occasion. You can hear traffic ever so slightly, but it has been reduced a whisper with almost no low frequency rumble which plagued that room before. The traffic that is located on an adjacent road 10 meters away is totally inaudible. I can sleep soundly without ear plugs.

On top of that, they really are beautifully designed. The quality of the frames and architrave really enhance the room and make it a really nice place to be.

There was a slight error on installation but the team were on hand to resolve the issue swiftly and effectively. Alice and Sebastian were both very easy to communicate with and were always on hand if we needed to speak to them.

Really happy with the quality of the windows and the installation. We had 2 sash windows and one imitation sash window installed. The windows themselves are really well made and the wooden frames look really beautiful in our Victorian house.

Sebastian and the team were really responsive and helpful throughout the entire process and gave us loads of useful tips on how to insulate the rest of the house and what curtains or blinds to install with the windows.

Got some fantastic looking heavily soundproof windows. They are wood, look great and most importantly, are fantastic in keeping out the noise of a very busy road. Expensive, but worth it. The whole process of consultation, booking, the work being done and after care visit was very professional and painless. Would recommend!

We contacted Soundproof windows as we live on the ground floor of a block and the bedroom is by the main entrance. Our neighbours often come back late and can be quite loud, or walk their dog at night, or stand by the door and smoke whilst having a chat, all of which used to wake me and my partner up - both at night, and early in the morning.

Sebastian came around in November to advise on the level of soundproofing needed, and he was very upfront and honest, suggesting that we wouldn't need the highest level of glass.

Alice, the office manager, was also always helpful and prompt at responding to my queries.

They installed in late February, very professional half day job, and we have not been woken up once since!

It's also great for temperature insulation, it got rid of all the condensation to the glass.

Would certainly recommend!

The quality of the secondary glazed windows is excellent, and far more attractive than any other secondary glazing I have seen. They also make a very effective seal against the traffic noise on the Embankment. The installation was spotless, and it included moving a built in cupboard. A very happy customer.

We live on a reasonably busy road and had 3 windows at front of house replaced and the difference (from older double glazes, aluminium framed windows) is significant. Used to sleep with earplugs but no need anymore. High quality products that are worth the premium over standard double glazing.
