Very disappointing-the fruit was not fresh!
This was delivered today as a gift,3 apples were definately past their best and bruised,3 plums were over ripe and squashy, and one was actually brown on the inside,1 banana was black inside. The packet of grapes was also past its best, and slightly browning,2 oranges were quite dry looking, with age marks on the skin, the only part that was ok were 3 satsumas , 3 pears and 1 kiwi.. Fruit is so obvious when its not fresh, this wasn't. I phoned and emailed, no one replied today. Update-they replied the following day, blaming the courier for poor handling, I disagree ,I do not think this was the fault of the courier, the products were poor quality and certainly not fresh ,I supplied photos which confirmed this.

Used many times. Quality and service are great. Will keep using. Definitely recommend

We have been using these guys for years and always get a delivery of great produce.

I ordered some chestnuts and almonds. Chestnuts are inedible with a very ugly taste. They are also huge and roundshaped. They can even be horse chestnuts i am not sure. Almonds are supposed to be organic, they come from Afghanistan and there is a paper sticker that is put on top of original package saying it is organic, if you believe. They are tiny and i think these may be apricot kernels rather than almonds. Huge waste of time and money.

Shocking service!!!!! Ordered 2 veg boxes for my daughters for early Christmas gifts. Box 1 arrived 3 days late, box 2 still hasn't turned up (15 days waiting). No communication from the company unless initiated by me, When contact was made I was lied to on several occasions with delivery dates (it's on the lorry, it will be tomorrow, it's been destroyed). Christmas eve tomorrow and still no veg hamper so my daughter is now going to have to go to the supermarket with a disabled daughter on Christmas eve!!!!!!!

Just received my first delivery from the veg box company. Spoke on the phone to a lovely lady called Rebecca and then the owner Guy. Really friendly people running a family business. The produce I recieved was amazing quality. Everything was so fresh. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again. Thank you Veg Box, Dawn James. x

A friend brought the Mixed Box along to a weekend away. It was a brilliant idea for a weekend self catering because everything we needed was in the box and so easy to pack. The vegetables and fruit were so well packaged and yet not waste full. All of the produce was so fresh and so tasty. I was blown away by the choice on their website of availability of an array of products. I have ordered for myself as a regular order but also as gifts for family for Christmas. Give it a go !

Great produce always fresh and tasty we get a weekly box off them. Recently sent a fruit box to a relative that was ill in hospital. No problem arrived safely and with the message we had asked them to send.

Having used a number of different online fruit and veg companies we came across The Veg Box Company and have been using them for the last few months or so. We are really pleased to say we really enjoy how fresh and well packed each each box arrives. We have tried a few different boxes and all have arrived well packed and full with delicious fresh veg or fruit depending on which box we order. After having spoken to the one of the team the other day about not adding leeks to our box anymore they where only too happy to help. I highly recommend them and will certainly keep using them.

Perfect Box of fruit and veg. We get a box every 2 weeks, one week we have a small mixed box and then the other box is a small veg box. We are an elderly couple so don't eat a lot but over the month this is a perfect mix of fruit and veg. The fruit is always fresh and a good mix of different item each week.

After reading a recent review regarding quality I also do think that because we are using Beko vouchers we're not getting the best produce available. We've had 3 build your own boxes and each time there has been fruit thats bruised so much I wouldn't eat it because I don't know how it's' gotten that way and who has handled it (what a waste!) It's a shame because I would readily support this type of scheme but due to the cost of their products and delivery charges as an OAP it would be way too expensive.

I think if you live locally to this company your fruit and veg boxes maybe ok. But as I live not within the local delivery zone some fruit and veg were not up to standard. Also reading other reviews,I think people like me seem not to have had the best choices of produce as we were all paying with Beko Vouchers. My first box of veg and fruit had mostly the basics and the added (in season options for The Veg Box Company to add) were not as expected. I thought I might get strawberries or blueberries but received kiwis. Boxes in general seem overpriced and some items in the build your own box are of an extortionate cost ie 1 pepper for £1.50 each or a grapefruit for £2.95 qty 1(unless this is a misprint on their site). At the time I purchased my 2nd box (build your own this time). I couldn’t proceed to checkout as I hadn’t spent enough according to them. The limit at the time of my order was £12 which we honoured but it still wouldn’t go through. My husband phoned them to query the problem and the lady on the phone said that “their website was being updated as we speak to £12.75”. However in our view the £12 limit should have been honoured as it was that figure stated at the time we were doing our order. Anyway this made us having to pay the extra £4.70 balance with a debit card, having spent the rest of our Veg Pledge Beko vouchers. When our box was delivered there was one item missing, one of the four flat peaches badly bruised and broccoli already starting to turn yellow. After complaining to them via their online chat mail system on the next day (Thursday) I heard nothing from them until after the weekend. To their credit they have offered me a refund but it cannot be refunded to my debit account apparently. Craftily, this means to spend my refund I’ll have to order another box minimum cost at £13.25 plus delivery. As a pensioner, to end this saga, I have given up and told them to keep or give to charity my refund offered. Needless to say I will not use this company again.

I have ordered several boxes from the veg box company and each one has been full of fresh produce. The quality is amazing and I love the fact they source their produce from the local farms. I have now signed up to a quick and easy subscription service which is great for my weekly veg deliveries.

Wow what a company! Have ordered 3 veg boxes off them over the last month. Every box comes full and fresh veg. We order The Large Veg Box and each delivery has had same basic and then a number of different items that have changed each week. This is great as we have now tried new veg that we would never had normally picked up if we had shopped in the supermarket. As a familly we do not like broccoli, I called the veg box nothing was too much for them. We now do not have broccoli in the box. Fantastic customer service. Would highly recommend!!

First order yesterday and had messages saying delivery 3 august between 10.49/11.49 it’s now 5.10 and still no delivery even sent veg box company messages and they too have been unanswered or called me back. So very sorry first and last order without even receiving anything can not see this company lasting very long. Awful customer services and as for the delivery absolutely shocking. All go elsewhere ie the farm shop

And now at 7.00pm I have had a message saying sorry you were not in try again tomorrow there have been 3 people in my house all day including myself and all the doors and windows at the front have been open as so hot 🥵
Total load of rubbish and by the time I get the fresh fruit and vegetables they will mostly be off or not fresh what a rubbish company The Veg Box Company are

Now the veg box company as replied and said dpd tried to deliver my parcel at 11.00am no one home and called us liars but so sorry veg box company we had new doors and windows fitted yesterday and workmen and vans and my household were home all day and why you are calling us liars. Why did dpd send us messages saying they were running late and would try and deliver our parcel later in the day that’s strange if they tried to deliver at 11.00am sorry veg box company you yourselves and your couriers are the liars. Please feel free to cancel our order and have it returned to yourself. Oh and by the way do not tell me or ask me in another email to remove my review especially when it is a honest review and how you let your customers down

The veg box company what can we say ? We had £50.00 vouchers with this company because we purchased a Beko product and now because they messed our order up and we complained they have now removed our vouchers how childish says it all

So I've ordered off here a couple of times. The first time they put my delivery in the bin and when I called them to discuss this, he replied saying, "funny, this has happened twice this week and the other person was from the North West to" not to sure what he was implying by this. He never resolved the issue and didn't respond to messages. The only reason I made a 2nd order was because I had gift vouchers to use, received my 2nd order this morning and for the size and quality of the items which are already so overly priced on there, I can't say I'd be areturning customer on there. I had to bin the onions, the cauliflower was turning brown and I just had to buy more broccoli in my shop cause the 2 that were delivered wouldn't do a meal. Wouldn't use this site again, poor customer service who make unnecessary comments with poor quality food.

Whilst isolating & recovering from covid , I was craving oranges , my Veg box was such a help as I was confined to Home . Arriving before 12:00 the day after I ordered it , I was impressed at the entire service. Everything was well packed & with ample shelf life for my requirements. Only 1 item was missing but I received a prompt , courteous reply with refund set in place. No complaints - I was able to access fresh fruit , veg & eggs at a critical time. Excellent service . Thank you.

I’ve lost track of how many times I have used this company, both for myself and as gifts for others. Perfect every time. A label tells you who packed it, Jordan has packed my last few boxes and I must say, perfectly. Even when It contained squishy things like wonderfully fresh plums, tomatoes and salad leaves, it arrives in perfect condition and fresh as a daisy. They do lots of extras as well as the veg, amongst my favourites are the wonderful chutneys, gorgeous chilli jams and lemon curd, as well as the herb and spice mixes. I’m just finishing the last gorgeous crunchy carrots and I will be ordering again. Well done, if only all companies were this good.
