Tub of cress was unusable been flattened by two beetroots. Overall very disappointed compared to the veg boxes we received earlier in the week.

Fresh and tasty
The veg box boxes are always filled with lots of fresh goodies. They always taste so much nicer then anything I have bought at a supermarket. I highly recommend them.

UPDATE ON: Damaged Produce, Poor/No Customer Service, Slap-happy Data Security Standards
I'm very concerned about this company's customer service and especially, data security standards. I ordered a large veg box as a try-out. The delivery (DPD) was fine. The quality of the produce was fine apart from the tomatoes, which were past their best.
I ordered a fruit box. Too many items were unacceptable and I wrote to the company and asked for refunds for certain items and delivery costs.
I received no reply. After a while, I went to the company's web site to shut down my account. I could only find a way of cancelling the rolling subscriptions I'd set up. My personal details, including bank card details, remain on the site.
I rang the company and spoke to a man (he did not introduce himself) who for a long time - about 5-10 mins - could not find my details on the web site, no matter what information I gave him.
In the end, he apparently found my details, though I am still not sure he knew what he was doing. He asked why I wanted to cancel my account. I told him about the poor quality produce I'd received and that I'd complained and had no response. All I got was a 'sorry'.
I told him I wasn't able to find a way of shutting down my account and he said that all I needed do was cancel my subscriptions. I had already done that. I expressed my concerns about the fact that I couldn't close my account and that my personal details/bank card details remained on the site.
There was no response to these concerns. I'll be looking for ways of drawing attention to the relevant authorities about the way this company is managing sensitive data.
I do not recommend this company.
I'VE READ THE RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW: BELOW. DESPITE THE COMPANY'S CLAIMS, MY ACCOUNT HAS NOT BEEN CLOSED. MY BANK CARD DETAILS HAVE BEEN REMOVED. MY NAME AND EMAIL ADDRESS STILL REMAIN.
FURTHER UPDATE (AND LAST ONE): I'VE HAD A STROPPY EMAIL TO THE EFFECT THAT I NEVER ASKED FOR MY ACCOUNT TO BE CLOSED DOWN. SINCE THAT WAS THE SOLE PURPOSE OF MY PHONE CALL, I AM AT A LOSS TO COMPREHEND HOW I CAME TO BE SO MISUNDERSTOOD. WHAT A WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS!

Fresh and flavoursome veg
I recently received my first small veg box and I’m really impressed. There’s a good selection of fresh veg, which is full of flavour. I made a soup today and it was far tastier than the same soup with ingredients bought from a supermarket. Next time I’ll go for the mixed box. Highly recommend!
Turkey without ANY veg! Update and rectification.
Ordered a Medium Christmas Box (supposed to contain vegetables, fruit and salad items) at a cost of £48.50 (plus delivery) for delivery on 22 December. Order was not delivered until just after mid-day on Christmas Eve and consisted only of a small fruit box plus one lettuce! This means that we have no vegetables to accompany our turkey on Christmas Day - an appalling situation which will spoil a family occasion for 7 people. This company does not even warrant one star!
The company replied to this review saying that they had sent me an e-mail on 21 December advising me that they could not deliver until after Christmas (not much use for a Christmas gift!). On checking my e-mails (including spam) I find that no such e-mail was ever received. This seems to be a common occurrence judging by other adverse reviews on Trustpilot. It was also stated that I should have let them know on receipt of the order that there were no vegetables. However, the box was a gift to my daughter and she was out when it was delivered and did not return until late on Christmas Eve. The company also seemed to say that DPD (their courier) had left a box behind at the depot. If this was known then some immediate action should have been taken to rectify matters. Definitely this company is not worthy of any stars (see also a large number of other adverse reviews). It will be interesting to see what Trading Standards have to say about this after Christmas!
18.1.22
Thankfully it was not necessary to take the matter up with Trading Standards as Guy, the owner of the company, did the honourable thing after Christmas and agreed to compensate my daughter for the inconvenience of having no vegetables for Christmas dinner. On Friday 14 January 2022 he delivered a very substantial box of assorted vegetables and salad items and another box of fruit to my daughter. ALL ITEMS WERE OF GOOD QUALITY and, in view of this, I have now added two stars to my review. Guy blamed DPD for failing to deliver the original box of vegetables on Christmas Eve and that is a matter for him to take up with the courier company but his own action to rectify their error, albeit too late for Christmas, has somewhat restored my faith in The Veg Box Company.

Rotten fruit
I bought a large box of fruit and veg for a relative. I visited the relatives the day the box was delivered and was very disappointed to find out they had to throw away all the kiwi fruit and half of the bananas as they were rotten.
I Called to discuss but was told it was DPD not being careful enough. I don't feel this is the case as the bananas were already going brown and the kiwi fruit was way too soft and mushy.
Needless to say this is the first and last time I will use this company.
Rotten veg and no customer service
Avoid this company. I received rotten fruit and veg from them. I emailed 3 times and they’ve ignored me. Won’t use them again.

Fresh fruit and veg…
I've been using this company since the first lock down. All I can say is I won't be going back to the supermarket any time soon for my fruit and veg. The best bit now is you can make a custom box and choose everything inside it. We had one issues with a late delivery due to DPD damaging a box. But once I spike to them they sorted it out very quickly. Glad that I found them.
Great service and really fast service
Great service and really fast service. I ordered at 12pm and my box was delivered the very next day. Full of really fresh and tasty fruit and veg. No plastic in the box either. I could not recommend them enough. I will be using them again once I have got through the box I have now.
I BROUGHT A FRIDGE AND IT CAME WITH VOUCHERS.
I BROUGHT A FRIDGE AND IT CAME WITH VOUCHER FOR FRUIT AND VEG WORTH A £100 i PLACED AN ORDER WITH THE VEG BOX AND THEY ASKED ME WHAT DATE WOULD I LIKE I SAID A SATURDAY. WAITED AND NOTHING ARRIVED GOT AN EMAIL AFTER GETTING IN TOUCH ASKING FOR MY EMAIL ASKING FOR MY POSTCODE DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING TILL THE SUNDAY SAYING IT WAS COMING ON MONDAY.
THE VEG BOX CAME AND THE BOX WAS DAMAGED AND THE VEG WAS DAMAGED AND WET INSIDE. I SENT AN EMAIL AND THEY HAD NOT RESPONDED UNTIL TODAY UNTIL I GOT THEM ONLINE.
THEY OFFERED ME £5 VOUCHER TO USE WITH THEM I STILL HAVE SOME MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT AT THIS TIME BUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED WHEN THEY COME BACK WITH THIS
We most certainly do value new customers, but not ones that think threatening us with a trust pilot review. As we are collecting items picked fresh from the farms and with the British weather and rain recently items sometimes have to be packed still with water on then and may arrive damp. The items you have shown to me to be damaged both spring onions and mushrooms cost £2.45 so we are offering you double the value of the items. If you let me know how you would like to me resolve the matter for you then please do let me know.
Please don't be had like me as they don't value customers

Terrible Customer Service
I'm giving this 2 stars but I really want to give it a 1. We had 2 vouchers - £25 each after buying a fridge freezer from Argos. We have always liked the idea of these veg boxes so the vouchers were most welcome to give us an idea of what to expect. The first veg box we ordered never arrived despite having a notification that it would be arriving at a certain time. In fact according to tracking, the box was recalled back by the owner and then later disposed of. We emailed The Veg Box Company 3 times and they never replied. I phoned them up and spoke to the owner 'Guy' who said he never received the emails. He gave me another email address and I sent all screenshots etc to him. He again never got back to me and I had to chase it and his reply was that he was waiting to hear back from the courier service. Why did he need to do that when I have sent him all the tracking info and proof etc? He still has not got back to us. We ordered another box from them as we had the 2nd free voucher and this arrived without issue. I texted the owner this and also reminded him that he still owes us our first veg box. Again, he has ignored this and not replied. Its worth looking at the google 1 star reviews for the Veg Box Company as there seems to be a bit of a pattern with not returning emails etc. I have given them 2 stars on here because the second box turned up. I really wanted to give them a 1 star due to the contempt they have shown for us. At the end of the day, we are £25 short of vegetables and this company doesn't give a toss. You may be lucky and receive your order. Then again, you might not be.
@@EDIT@@ having read the reply below I checked and we did indeed give the incorrect postcode so the initial mistake was ours. However, if the couriers did try to make contact, they certainly didn’t leave any voicemails for us when they could have done. Having also checked the email inbox and junk box, we did not receive any emails from the Veg Box Company on Friday or on any other day either. I sent a text to Guy on Monday and again today and he has ignored both of them. The box we did receive today was nice but given their communication issues, I’ll leave it from now on.

Poor Quality and Poor CS
The bananas were bashed and beaten - to the point where they were bleeding,
Similar with the grapes, they were soaking wet and a high proportion of them were split in half,
The Kiwi fruits were overripe, Mango is like a rock.
Worse still, they have failed to respond to two separate queries in a week.
Fresh produce
What an efficient, friendly, value-for-money experience! I ordered a small mixed box of fruit and vegetables which arrived by co2 neutral carrier and NO PLASTIC!! There was a great variety of fresh produce...I can't wait to try out some recipes. I will definitely be placing a regular order.

so impressed with my Christmas box the fruit is fresh and every bit the same quality i would have picked had i been able . every thing is packed well in brown paper bags not tones of plastic i am delighted to recommend this company.
Received my fruit box today!
Received my fruit box today, fruit fresh as well as a good variety; service quick and efficient. Will definitely order from again.
don't bother
I paid £21 plus delivery for mainly potatoes and carrots, a small cauli going brown, one stalk of broccoli mainly stalk and a few other bits. not worth a tenner in total.
