I am sorry your repair has been deemed as wear and tear which is specifically excluded from cover.

Avoidance BANDITS

They kept asking for more and more information. I worked tirelessly with the garage to provide all the info that they asked for. They crossed a line when they started saying that I would have to pay for the dismantling of my vehicle and depending upon the nature of what they see... They may accept or reject the claim. So I would be £1,500 out of pocket and would potentially have to pay for the rest of the repairs by myself. This is all facts, no fiction. I have the emails to back it up. The Financial Ombudsman will be hearing from me, regardless of the outcome of the claim. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. They're a plague.

Hello

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with your claim. All claims are assessed in line with the T&C of the warranty plan. On some occasions, further dismantling is required to determine the cause of failure in order to assess against the T&C

So we can look into this, could you please respond to our Trustpilot message with some more details to locate your claim.

Worse experience of my life with this…

Worse experience of my life with this company recently. GPF light came on straight red on my car, no amber warning light to do a regen. MG garage admitted a faulty sensor but they have totally disregarded this and put it down to wear & tear so they don’t have to pay out. Will be selling the car once I get it back. When I buy a new one and they offer warranty with this company I shall refuse it. Shocking customer service and there warranties are not worth the paper there written on and will find any loop hole to get out of things !!!!!

Crap garages, faulty parts & bad service

The garages they use fit low-quality parts which then fail, leaving you to pay a further diagnosis fee to repair the original fault - again.

If you try to use a competent garage to fix the issue with proper parts, they will refuse to pay for it.

Their customer service is atrocious.

Do not buy a vehicle warranty from these. Check your car dealership are using literally anyone else.

A vehicle was purchased just over a year ago from Car Shop (now Sytner Select). It was 3 years old at purchase, and after a further year and at 38000 miles, the engine suddenly failed and the car was recovered as it immediately became undriveable.

TWG are trying to get out of their obligations to pay by claiming it was an issue caused over time. They said their policy is 'not to send an independent assessor' to verify this.

The main Seat dealership have said the problem is one that happened suddenly, and not over time, as well as 3 other mechanics. The issue in question is that the cylinder head has warped, causing the head gasket to fail.

I will be taking TWG to the small claims court and skipping the ADR based on others' experience of it here.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Absolutely shocking and a scam of a “warranty company”. Avoid this at all costs, we are now taking legal action against this company and have been without our car for almost 9 months due to their lack of competency. Our VW Tiguan broke down in January 2024 and it was due to something in the engine which within our t&cs should be covered but we are at a lengthy battle, of 9 months now, with them just trying to claim what is rightfully ours.
Trading standards have also been made aware and our next step is to also involve the ombudsman.
We took out this warranty in good faith that we would be covered if anything was to go wrong with our car up to the cost of £22000. Absolutely disgusted to be told that the company have to “really look into it as the claim is for a lot of money” £13,500. This is a large ‘business’ telling a working class couple that this claim is for a lot of money. Disgusting behaviour

Misleading and inconsistent

Had an issue with partners master cylinder failing on an Audi Q3. Called TWG to assess if we were covered by policy as T&C's could be interpreted either way dependent upon which side of the fence you sit and was informed that the problem was indeed covered.
Called a 2nd time to confirm that this was definitely the case and was again reassured by TWG, albeit a different employee this time, that we were covered and to go ahead with booking in an RAC repair for which TWG would reimburse.

Now that the repair has been completed TWG have backtracked on their explicit advice and denied the claim.

The policy does state that any fraudulent or inaccurate information provided will allow for recovery of costs incurred.

With that in mind, taking into account the information we were provided fits into one of these two categories, I would appreciate the details of with whom I can raise a claim for costs incurred.

THEY DO NOT CARE

Despite responding to TWG when they asked for further information on my case, I have again not heard from them so I am just going to keep on writing reviews - pity we have to give even one star as they do not deserve it.

I worked in customer service at senior management level for many years and if I had neglected customers in this manner my MD would have had my guts for garters. It is mind blowing that a company can make demands for money they are not due but not respond to customers.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS/ Unfortunately, I was not aware that Cazoo outsourced their warranty service so I was unable to look up reviews before taking it out - do your homework if someone offers you an extended warranty and avoid TWG.

HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO SIMPLY CANCEL AN UNWANTED POLICY ON A CAR THAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN OFF? WHY IS THIS SOMETHING THAT HAS TO GO TO THE EXECUTIVE TEAM?

Impossible to get hold of anyone in…

Yesx, Avoid at all cost!
Impossible to get hold of anyone in Australia. They owe money to an company that is assigned to come and fix my Bosch machine. This company will not take on any jobs from the warranty group that owes them money since December ‘23. It's not July ‘24.
I finally got hold of the warranty group via email and they are saying I need pay for the technician to come out and then once it is fixed they might reimburse me.

Not only bad on bad reviews; but bad at responding

Left a review on the 6th July on how useless this warranty is and got a response to provide them with the claim number on the 8th July. It’s now the 15th and I have not heard anything since.

Do you just provide a response on trustpilot to make it look like you are doing something with your high volume of bad reviews?

Having looked at the poor reviews on here a bit more, it looks like the reviewer APTAPT is/having the same issues as me. APTAPT…did you ever get anywhere with your claim or was it a waste just like putting your faith in TWG/assurant group? Please let me know by updating one of your many reviews as it would be interesting to see how you got on and see what I can do next. I currently have a 5 year old car sat in a garage since April 2024 based on a sudden/non sudden (in TWG eyes) failure.

AVOID! ABSOLUTE CROOKS!

Don't even bother taking out an extended warranty with these crooks!! Air con failed on my Audi A3, took back to Carshop Norwich and they re-gassed without investigating properly but assured me my extended warranty would cover any issues later on. Forward 7 months and the air con goes again, leaking condenser! Carshop put in a claim and a snotty email back from TWG to say 'it's not a mechanical breakdown so claim denied'. It states on the small print that air con/climate control is covered under warranty with them but because it hasn't caused my car to breakdown and stop working, they won't cover!!! £650 wasted on this warranty!! I'm now left with a car that has a leaking condenser and having to pay hundreds to fix elsewhere. Fuming is an understatement. TWG have written the contract so it's always in their favour, looking at other reviews I'm not the only one with issues. Company need shutting down, not worth the fuc***g paper it's written on!

I had a fantastic experience with RAC…

I had a fantastic experience with RAC warranty through my RAC approved dealer. The 3 year warranty I had gave peace of mind as I had unexpected engine faults which RAC covered and there was no excess charged and all fixed hassle free. I totally recommend this warranty if you are buying a used vehicle as it's always unpredictable as you know if it comes to claim your cost won't go over the warranty cost you paid.
