The RAC extended warranty is a total farce. My car had a fault and was sent to TWO approved RAC garages. This due to Fords of Winsford selling me a car with over a dozen serious faults and refusing to repair. Neither RAC garage had the skill to repair the fault, This meaning it had to be sent to main dealer yet again on a lowloader. The main dealer sorted the issue after having to.wait 4 weeks? I was given a hire car by the RAC for 1 day and to pay for my own hire car for the remaining period? I then had to pay £300 of the £1500 bill because the RAC would only fund a min amount for the labour part of the repair. So because THEIR approved garages weren't upto the mark and incompetent, I was left with no alternative but to send to a main dealer? I would suggest you not purchase and find an alternative supplier of warranties and definitely not the RAC. Utter shambles!

I would have given 0 stars if the option was there.
Absolute rubbish... RAC should stand for REALLY ARE CROOKS.
My car developed a fault in Nov 2022 and was overheating and I took it to an RAC approved garage who diagnosed a faulty thermostat, which however took 4 week to figure out. After collecting the car and driving for 6 miles, guess what. It overheated again. I then had it recovered (at my own expense) and taken to a local trusted garage. They quickly diagnosed a faulty water pump, a really easy diagnosis as no water was getting up to the thermostat to bleed the system. This caused the cylinder head gasket to fail. Furthermore with it being a Peugeot and having an aluminium head, this too had been severely damaged and required to be stripped/skimmed and rebuilt. I was without a car for almost two months in total and had to hire a car for this period if time. All in all a £5k bill for hire and repairs that the RAC had no interest in refunding even after me supplying all the necessary invoices. I raised a case with the dispute company and have heard very little as the RAC garage has chosen not to respond. Last thing I heard was in Nov 2023 from the Approved Garages dispute manager and that was to tell me that the garage hasn't responded. All this time the garage in question are STILL continuing to display the RAC approved signage on their building.
Absolute charlatans of a company and I will never use anything with the RAC branding on it. Crooks!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST.
**Now have all the detail here on Trustpilot for them to make contact with me and guess what.......They make out they are interested by requesting a reply from their TP message however they remove the reply to message option.
**Car registration was ND16BKF and policy WTY319733

I've had a few claims on this policy since purchasing my car. Delighted that everything thus far has been covered.easy process as the garage has dealt with the claims.

I am overall satisfied with the experience I have received from protect my bubble.
They are a very trustworthy company
There is no messing about when it comes to fixing and Protecting your gadgets.
In my case, my iPad could not be fixed but it was nice to know that I would receive the value of the iPad so I could go out and purchase the same one.
Communication wasn’t always the best, but when calling up occasionally to check up on the status of my gadget, I received the best communication.
Thank you, protect my bubble for all your help 🙂

Still radio silence
Still no reply to my very simple question as to how you can justify NOT honouring my claim.
Sudden engine seizure is sudden mechanical failure in anybody else’s world!!
Bought a warranty in good faith - this company refusing to do what they took money for - absolute con.
Then just won’t explain anything to you. Complaints department send a very wooly “was possibly this” letter basically refusing to pay but won’t answer any questions about it.
As a consumer why should you have to go to ADR or solicitor to get a company to do what you have paid them for?
Awful customer care and service. Looking through all reviews sadly I’m not the only one :(

My car (only 4 years old) stopped suddenly whilst driving. Took it to a main dealership who did the diagnostic checks and found the problem. RAC asked for all the details of the results of the check so they could decide if it was covered by my platinum plus warranty. It was THREE months before my car was repaired as my claim was waiting in a queue to be assessed by RAC.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!

Electronic handbrake stopped working , went back to garage where I bought the car and they replaced the faulty part and dealt with Assurant who paid the bill. So far so good .

No response and no managers…???
Be very aware of what happens when you make a legitimate claim with this company. A car stopping instantly when driving with seized engine - big bearing failure and snapped crankshaft is most definitely sudden mechanical failure if ever I’ve heard it.
Told it’s fair wear and tear??? Then told it had no oil - possibly - even though oil was there when assessed and perfect service history.
Complaints department just check with initial people and funnily enough agree with them 🤣🤣🤣
Ask to speak to a manager - apparently they don’t have a public facing role??? How can managers not talk to their customers?
Customer service/care is horrific.
Shouldn’t have to take legal action or go to ADR for what is 100% a sudden mechanical failure as detailed in their T&Cs

Warranty claim was easy to register and authorisation to proceed was quickly obtained by the RAC approved garage I chose, however I was surprised that the amount allowed for labour costs was lower than the reasonable rate charged by a local independent garage, leaving me substantially out of pocket.
I cannot see that any reputable garage would do the work at the offered rate and I think this should be increased to something more realistic.

I bought a car from car shop,Nottingham. I took out an extended warranty, something I have never done before! Luckily for me I did as it needed a major repair, picked up on the MOT after I had had the car for a year. I rang the warranty company and thought “ here we go, they will make excuses not to pay for the repair “ but no, within a few minutes of making the call and sending the details, they said to go ahead with the repair, it was covered. I paid for the repair and was told I would be reimbursed within 3-5 working days, I was still sceptical. I checked my bank today and the money has been paid in full after only 4 days. This company has renewed my faith in warranty companies

One star as it won’t Let you give less! Do not get a warranty as they are not worth the paper they are on. They will get out of paying , read the other reviews! Tried to tell
Me the damage to my car was my own fault not a KNOWN fault!! And to top it off communication and customer service is shocking, and took me forever to ge the small Amount paid that they actually agreed to cover. Save your money!!

A top class warranty that I will certainly take out again

I was really worried at first as I was informed my nearest RAC garage was nearly 30 miles away. After I done some research, I found one not even 2 miles away. I had a warning light on for the fuel filter and when I got the car serviced, the garage at Ashington cleared the fault and said if it comes back on to get in touch. From there the experience was fantastic. I didnt even have to speak to the warranty company RAC as the mechanic dealt with everything for me. They replaced the sensor on the fuel filter and it was all covered under my warranty. After my initial regret of getting the RAC warranty (thinking my nearest garage was over 30 miles away) I am really pleased I got it now. Maybe make it clearer what garages participate in RAC warranties for future but I am happy so far

Only would pay £1000 for the repairs which cost £1560,so left out of pocket on a repair to a car that had done only a few hundred miles from purchase. Also had to wait weeks for for the repair to be completed by the authorised garage which isnt straight forward when you need the car for work.

My claim was for a leaking water pump and the garage I took it to (Monkey Garage in Derby) sorted out my claim professionally and swiftly and only took a couple of days to repair. My only negative point is that the warranty did not cover the full cost of repair, however, was very pleased with the service received by the garage.

Absolutely awful. They will try anything to get out of paying and even for a part they did authorise, they paid £278 rather than the £370 the part cost.
Make it up as they go along. Although regulated by the FCA, they tell you you can’t complain to FOS. You can and you should.
Should be shut down

Recent experience great as claim was met in full. This is second claim. First one was fully rejected without explanation. Overall impression is not great.

We bought a car and a policy with the Warranty Group (who I now believe are Assurant). Unfortunately said car was stolen in December 2023 but as there were months of outstanding warranty left on the policy, we were advised we would get a refund for the outstanding months. Despite sending them confirmation from our insurance company and also the DVLA to show the car is no longer ours, we just get the same old reply - that it is down to the account manager and that there has been no progress. Very quick to take your money, very slow to advise as to why you don't qualify for a refund. At least have the decency to tell us why we don't qualify for a refund. They just hope you will disappear.
